"Play the way you want, but with the weapons we choose for you to use." -sunsetting

I just fail to understand why the power ecosystem needs to be focused on a 'new meta' on a constant basis. Designing weaponry with a meta in mind seems antithetical to good game design anyway. There should be no meta in a well balanced game. All options should be on the table, some better than others in certain situations of course. I dont understand why the content weve all paid for has to be revoked for there to be new rewards in the game. It just seems senseless. Do all the things you just said but leave my regular old legendary guns, half of which im still getting, alone. Its infuriating to be barred from my old weapons for what seems like no real reason.

Really sucks that i can't compete with felwinters after returning to Destiny 2 all other high impact shotguns have been sunsetted so trials is going to he extremely hard to play without it but i have to wait 2 months for the next season to get it when it should have been in the kiosk to begin with or at least give new/returning players the felwinters quest

Wait there are rewards to playing this game? Really? All I've been getting is tired old Gear from D1 and Seasons Past. You mean there's something "New"?

Light level and power caps is ancillary to what makes an interesting weapon. If players aren’t using new things it’s because you’re failing to make compelling weapons. Forcing their hand is admitting defeat. Sunsetting on this scale is the most disgraceful thing you guys have ever done as developers. Not only are you failing to make new, interesting gear, you have made everything that was interesting obsolete. There’s a great game here, buried under 6ft of mediocrity.

Mmmmm....it’s a start but y’all still ignoring the obvious. Players knew it, Pepperidge farm knew it, hell even the kid (who knows nothing about this game) holding the balloon knew it.[spoiler]sunset was a mistake. Especially armor. I haven’t been playing because I don’t wanna feel like I’ve wasted time playing. Which is why I skipped the last two dlcs. Almost got this one because of hawkmoon. But how stupid would I have to be to pay $50 for one weapon[/spoiler] Edit: My constant salt and -blam!- aside, I...WE want this community thrive, we want to tell new players to come(instead of telling them Steer clear of) to the game, but we also want to feel like our time playing matters. Constantly changing world sound amazing, but my loot should be updated with it, not removed and reintroduced. If this game is meant to go on for years to come and not just simply end like destiny did(kinda), the approach you’re taking needs to be change. Everything needs to matter. All the content, loot, activities, destinations need to matter. I see a few devs taking the approach of letting players download part of the game they want, maybe that’s not a bad idea. SrL one week, mayhem everything (pvp/pve) another, faction wars, and iron banner. Just so that there never a dull moment. Again abandoned that 10 year bs and think loooong term. These things could be dlc packs where players can pick and choose what they want on their systems. If I dont like gambit I don’t have to download that dlc, etc. And if you’re charging for these updates? Fine but they better be worth every cent. No half assed bs. Last but not least, everything in game should look just as good as in my store if not better. There you have it. The perfect game. Now all bungie would have to do is fix bugs/balance the game, and worry about the battle pass for the year. Players would play their way, play what they want how they want, and get what they want. Players would feel respected, and want to spend money....but I dream😔. I'll come back when you clowns start making new content and not reskinned weapons or armor that we have to re grind and re grind and re grind for. Porting content, weapons or armor over from D1 IS NOT new content. So glad I did not buy BL and quiting the game 5 months ago.

Hey bungie even though everyone is complaining about the new expansion, and are continuing to complain even though you are giving solid feedback I want to thank all you guys for releasing some of the best content you've released in awhile. I can't wait for the upcoming seasons and expansions coming out. Keep up the good work and again thank you for working so hard.

There should be no sunsetting beyond what has already taken place. The issues where the pinnacle weapons and that has been addressed. Armor should never expire, just remove the mods that you dont want to see carried over into future seasons. If you want players to pursue new weapons and armor then make them look good cosmetically (season of dawn) and put in perks people want to go for.
