Where do I begin...
Campaign Story
-Same old 1 dimensional Destiny story lines, new bad guy arrived, kill bad guy.
-Same old terrible dialogue and cutscenes that feel like trailers.
-Filled with Corny one liners and Cliche’s like “the line between light and dark is so very thin”
-the stranger really didn’t explain anything, nothing was explained in fact.
-What was that? Like 3-4 hours??!?
-Artificially extended play time by making you go from Variks, back to the tower, back to the stranger, sparrow across Europa.... do busy work
-Stasis is kinda cool I guess... it also completely breaks PVP, getting frozen is guaranteed death.
-We fight the fifth version of fallen re-skins in 6 years LMFAO. Woulda thought with all the new architecture of the triangles it would be the right time to introduce a new alien race... NOPEEE
Europa + cosmodrome
-Another barren wasteland with nothing to do in it. Feels like d1 mars but with snow and even more dead.
-No fast travel point on the north side to artificiality inflate your playtime
-Cosmodrome is back LMFAO more rehashed content what’s new
Sunsetting
At first I wasn’t opposed to this, just like the power cap on pre-ttk weapons. That was, IF THEY ACTUALLY PUT NEW GUNS IN THE GAME.
-there’s barely any new weapons, and plenty are still reskins. In the past September expansions we had new armour and weapon sets for every single activity (crucible, vanguard, raid, trials, iron banner, gambit, strike specific, hell even factions in d1)
-they power capped guns which people grinded hours for a god roll, and now they start dropping again with uncapped versions?!??!? Biggest slap in the face by bungie ever.
Overall lack of content
-1 new strike, (sorry, D1 strikes doesn’t count), 7 vaulted
-NO new crucible maps, 11 vaulted
-NO new crucible modes, a bunch removed
-NO WORLD LOOT POOL REFRESH
-1 raid but at the cost OF 5. FIVE. Cinco.
Not only is there the smallest loot pool of all time, there’s also the smallest amount of variety within crucible maps, strikes, raids, gambit, modes, planets EVER.
Overall, this is the single greatest ripoff bungie has ever made for 50$. On top of that, they are still selling forsaken and shadowkeep to scam newcomers who will be spending money on stuff that literally does not exist in the game anymore.
TLDR: for a whopping 50$, you get
one raid
one planet
one strike
no new loot pool
And you lose
4 planets
5 raids
7 strikes
11 crucible maps
All the weapons you worked for
A somewhat fun PVP game free of broken stasis

Most disappointing was not having armor affinity removed
-
Somehow they did even less than I thought they would. And I literally went into this expansion with zero expectations especially after Shitkeep
-
I like destiny a lot,but I know what I’m getting into. I had no plans to buy BL,I was so happy when it was announced that it’s was coming to game pass. I enjoyed the new stuff, but after 4 days of playing,I’m bored. I just play something else until reset and I’m back in the mood to play.

The main symptom of hypernatremia is excessive thirst. Other symptoms are lethargy and possibly confusion. Advanced cases may also cause muscle twitching or spasms. With severe elevations of sodium, seizures and coma may occur.

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von Twisty: 11/16/2020 11:42:06 AMThis is going to get downvoted either way but whatever. Let's think realistically instead of "We lose things. Things bad" 1- Raids. How many times did people run the raids for the sake of enjoyment and not to get triumphs or the exotic weapons tied to them that can be bought now? Losing 3 Raids and 2 Raid Lairs. Keeping 2 Raids and gaining 1 Raid (so far) 2- Strikes. Maybe I am an oddball but the ONLY times I selected specific strikes was to get quests done for exotics. Other than that it was 3 for the weekly pinnacle and bounties. I couldn't care less what strikes I got when doing that. Losing 7 but keeping 11 and gaining 1 with Europa (so far) 3- Crucible. I don't play much crucible, but after some searching it seems like a lot of the maps being vaulted are just "meh" not good, not bad but there are better. Losing 11 and keeping 20 3.5- PvP was and always will be a conflicted topic of some people like it, others hate it. Stasis could use some tweaking, of course. Shortened freeze times, no damage for breaking out early, hell even mods to take less damage while frozen would help. 4- Weapons. Sunsetting was a kick in the gonads, I agree. Dropping the same stuff with the uncapped power is not a good idea. 5- Other. Almost every planet is barren used only for bounties (most of which can be done in strikes) and quest grinding. 5.1- The campaign was short, yes, but there is only so much that can be done that anything longer would literally be pointless. 5.2- The writing, so what? I listened to music throughout the entire campaign and feel like I didn't miss a whole lot. Like you said, its only there for a short time then you move on. 5.3- Apparently new races would mess up the lore according to lore-smart people. So reskins is what we get. The Darkness (I think) isn't an actual being, more of a controlling power like the Traveler. As for being a ripoff - That all depends on the player. If they play for 50 hours this entire expansion that is 1$/hour. That is nothing. That is looking in your couch cushion or cleaning your car and finding money.

So you've played for six days and expected more? Where have you been the last six months? You knew what was coming with the changes. Perhaps comment after all of the content has dropped?
-
Keep in mind I think much of this DLC was done at home and not in their studio I'm not making excuses for any of the short comings I'm just reminding.
-
12 AntwortenIm with you on everything but the new race. Story wise, you cant just throw another one in. Like, where they been? Why has nobody mentioned and entire developed civilization with space travel capabilities before. Especially the Cabal. Conquest of new systems is kinda their thing.
-
Well said. This "expansion" is indeed beyond light with its content. :(
-
Agreed completely. I only bought the expansion for one reason (seeing as all my friends have quit)... the return of the Exo Stranger. As I feared, they ruined her character. We still have no Earthly idea why tf she contacted us or who she was working with 6 years ago... and to what end. Something told me this was a sham to get veteran players to buy in and would end in disappointment. I really should've listened to that something. At least I didn't buy the season pass.

Like why even keep the moon and such if they arent going to raise the power cap on its gear? Seems mundane Its basically just explore europa for good gear, otherwise youre SoL
TLDR: for a whopping 50$, you get one raid one planet one strike no new loot pool
You can play it as a new light player - but not selection it (still have to see how it go with NF). With BL, you get the campagne too, and stasis. And master Lost sector on Europa, for what it's worth. In my calculation, master Lost sector + new weapons (the orange one) + armor set (the polar one) are equivalent to a light season (10$) So my personal calculation si more " for 30$ you get : - one raid (but what happen if you don't raid ?) - one planet/campagne - one new subclasse"

Years to tell Bungie has managment problems - D1 is dead? We are tired of twins DLC. Please consider a really new game in todo. No more DLC. I prefer a new game every 2 years, a cd _ just to understand for what I spend my money. No more "copia incolla" of the SAME SAME GAME PLANET ENEMIES ECC ..." Thanks dude Jack MASTERS INDOMITUS LEGACY

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Legend Turbo: 11/16/2020 8:48:50 AMNow everyone is feeling the effects of the Bungie / Activision split. Every since Curse of Osiris the game has just gone downhill.

8 AntwortenIf I recall they said the were making changes to classes to equal stasis. Here’s my prediction Solar: Mercury Arc: Nessus Void: Titan They’re going to resell this shit back to the players and the foolish will eat it up. I’m just playing till CP2077 and Outriders.

3 AntwortenSheesh, OKay. Time to unpack your post, cause it's a long one... First off, I get it. You were letdown by Bungie, again. Good for you, you aren't special. Secondly, if you feel as though you are being letdown by Bungie a lot, maybe look inward and decide if you truly want to play Destiny? Cause it seems like you don't. Thirdly, This DLC ain't perfect by any means, not sayin' that at all. But what I will say is that this expansion is everything I expected. I didn't inflate my expectations and anticipate anything more than what I was given. Thus, I am not letdown by it. Matter of fact I am quite content with things as they are. Fourthly, They are deploying a huge three-year plan of content for us. That also includes, 4 confirmed season passes (more to come probably), at LEAST 2 more Raids, likely more, including VoG. And not to mention we probably will be getting most, if not all, of D1 and D2's planets back eventually. Beyond that, they are implementing true armor transmog in February, a plethora of new mods and likely even more weapons come the new year as well. I've even heard rumor of more Darkness-based subclasses later on :) Basically, in conclusion, all I'm saying is. Be patient. Just because D2 isn't the "Perfect Game" you want it to be and it's in a transitionary period (post-Activision). Doesn't mean it won't be great down the road. Beyond Light was not intending to be a "Be all, End all" DLC, it's simply the tip of the spear of a long road of content for us to enjoy.
-
2 AntwortenShadowkeep, contrasted with Beyond Light, was stellar work, even though on it's own Shadowkeep was a fairly lame effort from Bungie that came with the accepted excuse that Bungie couldn't offer up much after breaking with Activision. Being honest about Bungie in the aftermath of Beyond Light's release, their last truly creative milestone was Forsaken, and that was produced with Activision guidance. Basically, Activision has just been proven to be the true leaders of the last worthy Destiny iteration. There's no legitimate excuse for this DLC. None. It feels like a scam. They plied deceptive marketing at us, they needed release delays "to make sure this DLC holds up to Destiny standards", offered up clever biopics with dramatic pauses & a soundtrack, dev team interviews. All this hype just to deliver the shortest campaign imaginable, the same "repeat this 100x for that" hamster wheel, a completely nonsensical sunsetting policy, and simply the single worst DLC the Destiny franchise has ever produced. And then they charged 'new game' money for the privilege of being bent over like this. Judging from this "effort", it looks more like Bungie's upper management team are predatory scammers, milking this title for all it's worth while providing as little effort and creative input as necessary... just to keep addicted fanbois (and the now omnipresent "free to play" crowd) throwing money at them. I can say this confidently. I don't care how amazing their next title might be, I won't play it. They screwed the fan base with BL & turned the newer Destiny loyalists into a perpetual ATM machine for their new IP funding, and that's some sick AF, manipulative sh!t. Troll me all you want, I couldn't possibly give less *****. I've defended Bungie plenty when people were trying to warn me that this title was gonna be a horrendous, weak download. I even attacked a few people on this forum alone for trying to shed light on Bungie's propensity to rip people off. Anyone "praising" this title after playing BL has Stockholm Syndrome.

17 AntwortenTotally agree, but the idiots who pay the $50 are telling bungie that it’s ok. I’m playing the expansion for free on gamepass.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von legi0n47x: 11/16/2020 3:56:44 AMIt has been the worst campaign and post quests yet. A new low for them. A 12 year old could have cobbled together a more coherent story line. The trailers led nowhere and no amplifying information was provided. In fact they gave a cheap montage at the beginning covering the trailers. If you hadn't seen them you would be even more confused. Doesn't matter though because you're the bestest guardian evar! No matter how many times you save the day Zavala will always wag his finger at you too. OP is correct, the stranger didn't tell us anything, except look within I guess. And that was in the trailer. But hey, at least the darkness let us in one of their houses. Who has been inside the traveler? The post campaign quests (all of them!) are missions rehashed from it. Very low effort. With the exception of the exotic grenade launcher quest. Speaking of low effort the ghost to start the original sleeper quest is still in the cosmodrome. I don't think it's an Easter egg, just an oversight. Willing to be proven wrong. The lost sectors were the only saving grace of anything in this content drop. that's crazy. The quests, which requires you to visit each one, there's an ok story between the stanger and anna as well. Anyone else been wondering while they play were the breast pump noise is from the vid doc? edit: I do have to give them credit on allowing you to chose how you get adored as well as the purely random powerful that can happen in each playlist. Seems to be about every 60-90 min for me. Those are good changes.

4 AntwortenJust finished the campaign for the 3rd time on my alts 🤮🤮🤮🤮 they should of made that shit account wide. -blam!-ing torture

1 AntwortenIf you all hate the expansions so much then stop buying them. You forget it’s an expansion, not a new game. You expect for them to add a massive amount of content at drop even though you know bungie does not do that. They time gate everything. It’s not even been a week and suddenly it’s the worst thing they ever did. If you know you don’t like the content bungie gives then the answer is quite simple. Stop buying their stuff. Your not being forced to play. They consistently release content in a similar way so it should be expected by now. It’s ignorant to think that all this sudden they will do things a different way. Bashing people for liking their content is ridiculous. Can they not enjoy the content because you don’t? Why can’t others be happy with it? I’m not telling anyone that they have to agree with what I’ve said nor will I argue with anyone about my opinion being wrong. I can understand why people are upset with this expansion. It is a bit underwhelming. But I’m hoping that some great content will come in the near future.
-
I feel in this weird point currently. As I see the flaws wanting them to be fixed as I always have but im enjoying the game as it currently is which I haven't enjoyed it since Forsaken. It's honestly just weird.

1 AntwortenWe want the crucible to return, as it has to be, competitive, not freezer or refrigerator, which is what it is. I want skill, not like it is now. I DO NOT LIKE. thank you bungie xoxo

Picked up Shadow of War on the PS store for free this month. Been playing it for the past 2 days after grinding all of my powerfuls on two of my characters. Used to be that I wouldn’t get on any game but Destiny during the week of an expansion. I’m kinda sad to see that trend end with beyond light. There are many things they did right with this expansion, the new raid perks that can be seen in the collections sound pretty good on paper. I personally like the look of Europa(still want that north fast travel though). However, 23 new weapons added is the biggest insult I have ever seen thrown at the player base of this game. This is meant to be a looter shooter game, and no new loot was added. I also noticed a problem with them adding this hilarious low amount of weapons: the loot pool will remain CONSISTENTLY LOW, as one seasons set of 20-25 guns will rotate out as the next 20-25 are added. This is a serious problem with the game. I am a seven year vet, this is the first time I’ve felt cheated by this company, and I’ve never been more tempted to quit. My friends are the only thing keeping this game fun for me. Anytime I was playing solo felt like Chore Simulator 2: No Allowance Edition. Also, I am so sorry for anybody here who likes crucible(I personally hate it and only really go in to do quest objectives and powerfuls). Stasis has absolutely destroyed the sandbox and made any other subclass pretty much unusable. I have a bunch of friends who love destiny PVP, and I have never seen them more angry at what bungle has done to one of their favorite activities.

2 AntwortenWell, what I want to know is where the heck does one get Legendary Shards from now? Spider used to sell them, but not any more! So, to get 400 LSs to buy ONE thingy from Spider, you need to dismantle 400 divided by 3 = 133 legendary bits of gear. I larfed! Spider will only sell 5 a week! How long is that gunna take? I know Bungie has several lunatics on the payroll. I guess Luke Smith has a lot of relatives, but jeez... gimme a break! Who thought this one up? AmIright, or not?
