The drop rates for Ciphers is so **disastrously** low, that you guys really need to get ahead of this, and offer the player base some sort of explanation. My only hope is that this is some sort of **bug** that manged to get past the quality-testers, and that this wasn't a deliberate strategy.
Rght now its looking like the drop rate for ciphers is less than one per hour of game play, which is simply unacceptable. Not only is this level of **stinginess** (there is simply no other word for it) shocking, it is a worst-case scenario. In that you have both a large loot pool AND a currency that being heavily-throttled.
Result?
I played for several hours yesterday, and managed to get a grand total of 4 Ciphers....and THREE of those were because I played on two characters, played the initial strike, and was lucky enough to get a two-for-one drop on my second character. Three hours of world play---including two 1020 Nightfalls netted me ONE Cipher. The only gun that I received was an Omolon sidearm that has been dropping in the game for THREE years now. WTF?!?!?
Here's what stinginess with rewards costs you:
I LIKE 450 ARs, and had the reward structur for this even been reasonable, I'd have been happy to grind to get good rolls for these weapons to position myself well for the upcoming year and replace the ones I will lose to Sunsetting.
But, given what's going on right now, what WILL happen I will resentfully put in the hours to get the cosmetic items from Eva....and then I'm out.
UNREWARDED grinding IS NOT CONTENT.
Dragging out thin content with super low drop rates will not incentivize players to play more. It will make them angry and cause them TO DISENGAGE from the game.
The player base has been telling you this for years, but you just **stubbornly** refuse to listen......
Why?

Caches Galore...More like Caches for -blam!-. I definitely feel spread open and abused by this bs festival of the lost. Not even a new weapon!! Seriously Bungo, I wanted friends to come back to destiny but now all I want to do is join them and stop playing your abusive relationship game.

What's silly is that pretty much everything you do in the next month is going to be wiped out when the new expansion hits. So they are following their guiding principles of GRIND and RNG to the max for literally no reason at all.

1 AntwortenFunny thing is, if it was any other person making this post, everyone would agree. But since its you, kelly... well, this happened.

3 AntwortenHonestly expected people to troll this post with kellygreen quotes

Unrewarded grinding has been the main function of D2 since its release, so its really nothing new. I think you’re correct: it’s not content, it has caused millions of players to disengage from the game, it is feedback as old as launch, and it is part of the context which makes sunsetting rub players the wrong way. I would love to see Bungie get it together and turn it around.

8 AntwortenYou just want it easy KG. Youre a whiner. Must be a new light player. Oh how the mighty have fallen and swapped roles.

6 AntwortenCalm down dang I played yesterday for about 11 hours and I am at 21 cypers currently so the drop rate is low but do the right activities and it make it fun Think non-linear activities that are quick bc I am not giving out by farming strategy
-
I got 2 ciphers in 20 minutes

6 AntwortenMy obligatory comment roasting you for obvious reasons #notmykellygreen In all seriousness, how could you not see this coming? I logged on a couple times during a recent work trip, but did nothing and logged right off. Not been playing for a while. This was so obvious.

I dont understand why they couldn't just be used as a reward for completing forest runs, maybe like every level over 6 gets you a cypher

2 Antworten*sips coffee* So is this one of those moments that finally made you explode KG? 😉

I never understood the rationale of being stingy with loot to extend the grind. Disappointment leads to disinterest. Bungie needs an overall fix to their RNG system in all aspects of the game. People want to play a game that respects their time and effort not something that many feel and have been feeling for a long time is a slap in the face.
-
agree that bungie is streching this stuff WAY too thin scared to death that someone could finish their grinds that they forgot it has to be fun as well
-
1 AntwortenSeems like you're coming around KG

One of the biggest issues I have with this problem is that if ciphers were dropping like candy, Bungie would had fixed this problem in an hour. Since it’s a lack of loot though, Bungie will wait until next reset.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von BossCharacter: 10/8/2020 4:53:39 PMI’m just wanting them to not allude to do it being an issue and just say if it was intentional or not. Otherwise we will just be running the same ole “woah is me” circles we always end up with when issues pop up and no real clarity to what is going down is achieved. Not even hating the game. Barely playing but that is more to do with my absurd work schedule these days and not product dissatisfaction. But that is more to do with me knowing that anything I had grievances with wouldn’t be addressed until Beyond light at minimum so I didn’t see the point on putting myself in the negative headspaces that tend to foster here.

The rewards in general for this game, especially this ENTIRE year, have been unrewarding.

1 AntwortenI must have woken up in an alternate dimension. A kellygreen post or comment that has upvotes. Unreal... lmao.

5 AntwortenThe usual multilayered RNG grind Bungie has been shoving down our throats since the Warmind DLC to make us believe there is “content”. If we don’t stop buying, they will never change, vote with your wallet people and stop pre ordering DLCs.
-
Wasn’t not sunsetting weapons for years generous? This seems rather mild to me, especially for an event they probably just whipped up because they pushed back BL and that most people seem to be complaining that the rewards aren’t worth it anyways.
-
27 AntwortenYou know, I honestly don't think anyone will tell you that what you're saying here is wrong. But I think the reason you're getting such a push back is due to the push back you had given everyone else when they tried to warn you about this long before it ever occurred to you as being a problem. Imagine how different this game would be today if Bungie had such a strongly motivated player of their game asking for positive change alongside the rest of us years ago...

6 AntwortenBearbeitet von Ant Heuser Kush: 10/9/2020 5:19:15 PMWait, is it not Bungie's game and they can do whatever they want? Ahh, I get it... You're annoyed, so NOW it's an issue. SMH.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von GrifterDeMier01: 10/8/2020 3:14:11 AMIt's almost like the company is being run by and is full of employees who hate gamers. Wouldn't surprise me one bit with all the stuff surfacing with the blizzard staff. Bungie is very similar to blizzard in a lot of ways. That company is totally infected with feminist SJW blue twitter check mark weirdos who hate gamers and even more so hate men. I bet ya Bungie is very similar.

3 AntwortenKeep the player on the hamster wheel

Holy shit I agree with Kelly Green this most be a fake account?!

5 AntwortenBearbeitet von Veldrin: 10/8/2020 12:29:43 PMThis is definitely not a bug. As a low-content looter-shooter developer, what Bungie is right now, this "bug" is definitely intended. They need grind to keep the players playing the game.
