Destiny one is a more solid game, has better activities, better crucible modes, better strikes. The cosmetics looked 100% better, armor, weapons, shaders, ships, emblems, and specially the last ones were much more beautiful. It's a shame destiny2 made shaders and ships pay to use items( I know you can buy them with silver dust) but you got 99% of the ships and shaders by doing game activities that were free and not stuck into a money barrier. Strikes were harder, had a interesting narrative, the first raids were good and not that thing that is the Leviathan, we had crucible maps that you could use sparrows and pikes.

2 AntwortenIt’s really easy to look back on the finished product that is D1 and say “this is better than D2”. If you actively played D1 you’ll remember the MASSIVE content droughts and animosity that everyone had for the game.
-
Somehow people forget that D1 had no content for 50% of the time. Also D1 pretty much had no real endgame after reaching max level because min maxing armor was to easy because it had no cost. I think armor 2.0 and its masterwork did a good job because it makes masterworks actually valuable in contrast to guns which should be a bit harder to upgrade in my opinion. A point I have to give D1 though are the prestige raids which are definitely missing in D2. Eventhough I think LW and GoS are two of the best raids they are way to easy once the level is reached. So to sum up i think that most off D1s positives come from nostalgia and that objectively D2 is better from a gameplay perspective.

30 AntwortenRose. Tinted. Glasses. Not trying to make D1 look like a bad game or anything... but you are deliberately ignoring a lot of stuff. Like... A LOT! Farming ressources to upgrade the perks on your guns? Locking progression behind raids and severe RNG? Decrypting purple engrams into blues? Four months long content droughts? Balancing weapons/supers/crucible once a year? Non-sensical main campaign ending in a yet-to-be-resolved cliffhanger? Don’t get me wrong: D1 hooked me enough to still be around. But saying it was better than D2 is delusional at best.
-
Than. I’m sorry I couldn’t help it. Doesn’t make you a bad person.
-
It had better armor and weapon design. I actually liked the look of my character in that game and MTX wasn’t so present

6 AntwortenPeople have such short memories. Anyone remember these forums during D1? It was a salt mine. I wound up going away from the forums for months because all it was was people complaining...about pretty much everything.
-
1 AntwortenNope, destiny 2 has a lot going for it that's better than destiny 1, one of which is the shader system: in destiny 1 it was one shader for all your armour and if I remember correctly you couldn't apply it to weapons. Not to mention all the quality of life improvements such as mantling, better graphics in general, better audio, and many more

Now--Hell no! Pre taken king story was trash and had 5th grader writing, crucible modes? Okay sure. Strikes? Nope. The Corrupted, Warden of Nothing, Brood Queen, and Festering Core shit on any of Destiny's strikes except Shield Brothers. Armor? Okay sure. Weapon design? Hell no. D2 has had Fabled Rank weapons that were game changing, Gambit weapons, Black Armory weapons, more swords, bows--fricken bows! Grenade Launcheers, SMG's, Linears, The Last Wish weapons, Seasonal weapons, Calus and Nine Weapons look better than anything in Destiny, what the hell are you snorting lol Destiny 2's exotic ships and sparrows put D1's to shame and you know it. Better activities? What does D1 have that was better than Escalation Protocol, Contact, Shattered Throne, Pit of Heresy, Propjecy, Zero Hour, Whisper, Risk Runner quest, Ascendant Trials, Blind well Mara visits, I could go on forever. The Redwar campaign alone had a better narrative than anything in D1 because there were emotional stakes, loss, a sense of rediscovery, and then the final mission really just puts it over. I really, really wanna know what you're snorting 🙃

1 AntwortenOriginal star wars trilogy is miles better than any star wars film made since then. The newer ones might look sharper and better special affects but they'll never live up to the originals. That is how OP feels about Destiny.
-
7 AntwortenYou are very wrong Destiny 2 is much better please just go log back into D1. It looks feels like you are playing on a toaster compared to D2. The only thing I want in D2 is Neon glowing shaders and those insane raid ornaments like moments of triumph
-
8 AntwortenDestiny 2 activities are mostly the same as Destiny 1 activities, just with a few additions. I don't see how that was better. The same goes for crucible modes. They're mostly all here in Destiny 2. Strikes were better, but that's because the community wasn't begging for power creep that makes bosses die before they're done spawning. Armor did look better, but I like Destiny 2 weapons, shaders, ships, and emblems more. Destiny 1 raids were fun, but I thought Leviathan was fun too. Crucible maps with vehicles (Combined Arms gamemode) was great, and I've been asking for that back for years now. But Destiny 2 crucible isn't bad without it.

1 AntwortenWhile D2 is mechanically better thanD1 in most aspects, I greatly prefer the art style of D1

32 AntwortenYou see, this is what we call “blinded by nostalgia”

2 AntwortenAs much as I love D1 more than D2, I would rather be playing D2 than D1, especially with Beyond Light coming out. D2 is far more loaded with content and stuff to do (Seals, Triumph Score, God Rolls, High-Stat Armor, Competitive PVP Playlist)

Truth! Plus it was created by a better Bungie (in the 7 years before its release)

9 AntwortenBearbeitet von loki71500: 8/3/2020 4:08:59 PMI myself think d1 was better. Many ppl on here make excellent points about the improvements d2 has, but....d1 was just....fun. I had a lot of fun playing it and it was an ejoyable expererince. My proof that d1 is better? When d1 was active, i had 3 full pages of freinds online and playing when i looked at my roster. In d2 i think it climbed to 8 ppl once. Small representation i know, but it speaks volumes to me.

12 AntwortenDestiny 1 has so much more replayablity today than d2 yeah sure d2 is fun here and there with certain grinds being somewhat fun but everytine I log onto d1 it just feels more replayable right you what I’m going to list a few things now that could make d2 feel worth logging onto - weekly featured raids -weekly vendor refresh -no seasonal mod slots -subclass customisation ( like being able to choose the super ability you want as well meme ability and buffs you get ) -No more horde modes season after season Hounestly there are a lot of people out there who have more ideas than the entire Bungie team combined and all Bungie can say is “ we are listening “

Bearbeitet von Yosemite Sam: 8/3/2020 2:00:19 PMAgreed IMO the first game was designed better in just about every aspect of it that even solo players had a lot more options. It had its issues but the content, the loot system, progression, etc... was better. It was about being a guardian feeling powerful and the game moved forward. This game is way over-controlled how players play the game leaving a hell of a lot fewer options because of the micromanagement leaving the game not going anywhere for almost a year now. There are so many things broken in this game it's ridiculous. Edit: Post like this have always been a huge debate and opinions will vary, but the one thing that really sticks out between the 2 games that some are not paying attention to? If this game is so much better than the first one, why since launch have you guys been asking this company to change it back to the first game? No one here that defends this company and says this game is better has relly spoke up about keeping this game separate from the first one, yet this company for 3 years has been adding a hell of a lot of the first game into this one. TL,DR Imagine saying this game is better than the first one yet you're trying to change it to the first one 🤦♂️

4 AntwortenThe main thing is people didn't leave after the first 2 weeks. After leviathan and trials of the nine nothing left to do....

Exactly comparing the two isn't even fair. Destiny as a whole just is a better game even the music is so much better. Also it just is more rewarding and fun to play
