Vanilla to Forsaken: random rolls and perks are added back into the game, year 1 armor is being brought up to speed
This is ok
Forsaken to shadowkeep: armor 2.0 is introduced, Forsaken/vanilla armor is brought up to speed over time
Fine, whatever
shadowkeep to beyond Light: sunsetting is announced, old armor is slowly brought up to speed to allow them utility for at least one more season
This... Is not ok. I'm already grinding the same gear to get my preferred build or roll, I don't want to grind my gear AGAIN just so they can stay relevant
I'm not saying sunsetting is bad, I'm just saying it's being handled pretty poorly already and it hasn't even happened yet

1 AntwortenThe cosmetic appearance of your armor is no longer going to matter with transmog. The only difference between armor pieces will be their seasonal/annual mod slot.

I was alright with it for the first few times but this is to much. At least stuff was changed in those first instances but now it’s just “we made your armor crap know, grind for new ones and (possibly) pay us to keep the looks”. I think everyone is just tired of it at this point.

This is the purpose of sunsetting. At this point, anyone that can't see that obvious fact has to be unintentionally fooling themselves. Sunsetting is simply a way to reissue gear on a never ending loop.

So yes sunsetting IS bad.

And what has changed in 6 years? 🤔 Just a couple more years and you won't have to keep regarding the same gear. Just hang in there, you got this.

Took a month of playing. Not farming endless strikes or afk farming or glitch farming the dungeon. But a month of playing 2 to maybe 3 hours a day. And I have replaces my strength set and discipline set both, with better rolls. Its actually been kinda fun caring about my drops again. Before it didn't matter. I insta dismantled everything basically. And that isn't how loot games are played. Hence the changes that are surprisingly working as intended for me. Give us more materials. Ways to obtain them and maybe even increase loot drops too and I see zero issues with sunsetting other than us getting crap we used for a year already, which is the reason for sunsetting itself.

3 AntwortenThe funny thing is; we have been earning super crappy drops filtered through super crappy rng only to have it reissued for three years now. This is not new. My favorite was regrinding IB armour. How bout you?

Bungie is notorious for mishandling things lol

Wasn't fine, and you all just took it. Didn't say anything, now look.

I would be less inclined to care if the infusion system and masterwork system wasn't so shitty.

5 AntwortenI thought you were about to mock the people who didn’t complain in forsaken or shadowkeep, but are complaining now. I was disappointed.

3 AntwortenWelcome to loot games. How do you introduce new armor? What can you do to add new armor? Nothing. Its because Destiny runs on perk/mod based builds. It is impossible to create 20+ new sets of unique armor and unique perks per set to put in a balanced sandbox in a 3 month time period. Especially if players are looking to make certain builds you have to reuse content and use transmog. Not all games are “new loot is not optimal loot.” Look at games like Division as well. The game runs off builds that are based around abilities or builds thats based around gunplay. Just like exotics in Destiny you can build around these things. You cant make everything unique, eventually you will reissue gear.
