Please Bungie, check the stats on the amount of mercies that are happening right now in IB. Just a hunch, but I think it might be an indication of how the removal of SBMM is impacting the average PVP player. I just finished playing 15 matches. 6 or 7 of them were ended by the mercy rule.
Bungie, I have a question:
Where do the average skill PVP players fit in this new landscape without SBMM? Where do we go to PVP other players at our skill level? Right now, the answer is we don't fit and there is no experience for us in PVP other than being fodder for folks waaaaay above our skill level. Trials, Survival, Elimination - competitive playlists all utterly dominated by high skill players. The only place we could compete was in the non-competitive playlists with SBMM. And over everyone else, high skill players can attest to the fact that the one thing that matters most in PVP is that the player feels like they can compete.
I think most of us "casuals" understand and accept that Trials isn't for us, and that we can't compete in the upper tier of Survival and Elimination (still have SBMM enabled) - we're average skill players. Of course we don't get to compete with the highly skilled players - they the best, we the rest. So why is it hard for seemingly you, Bungie, and the some of the sweats to understand that casuals deserve to be able to compete in PVP?
Please revert the decision to remove SBMM from non-competitive playlists.

And the removal of light level advantage has only exacerbated the situation. Getting killed by a PVP goon 50 LL below is not fun.

Played 5 matches. Beavered out of one immediately so really 4. Two were a mercy, a win and a loss. Other 2 matches went the distance. Seems pretty normal to me. Crucible has always been “were breaking up those teams to find a better match” for me ever since the game came out.

Its so fun to get killed by mountain top, recluse all the time. NOT. Those guns should only be allowed in comp. Otherwise, let casuals earn them from non comp.

First time in IB?

Anyone else having problems with the other team/s not taking damage? Played about 10 or so matches of IB tonight with 2 friends, every match the top 2-3 guys or more on the other team won’t take damage! Was so frustrating we eventually quit. Face shots, body shots, rockets nothing! Had a player walk right thru a suppression grenade more than once with their super on and nothing! Arbalest to the face not even doing anything. My friend running Sentinel popped super, went into a tight room and throws his shield, it bounced off everyone in there but all it did was take their shields down! We ain’t super elite, but we are a little better than average and most matches I’ve been 10-20 light levels above opponents . It seems to be worse against fire teams rather than randoms as well. I really don’t think anyone was cheating, but it’s still frustrating as hell

2 AntwortenIt was mercy after mercy before. The zone lockout mechanic is to blame for it, zones shouldn't lock if there's capture progress on an objective. Keep SBMM to Ranked/Comp
-
Whats more of a joke they introduce an iron banner bounty that rewards progress for wins....yeah right. Only 5 percent of a loss. Thats 20 losses boys.

Bearbeitet von Admatazz: 7/2/2020 2:05:23 AMI feel like that’s how iron banner has always been in D2, even during sbmm days. Idk why tho
-
It was like that before
-
Strangely the opposite for me. Under SBMM, I don’t think there was ever an iron banner I could consider fun. Like, I’d lose three times before winning once On Monday, I played against a six stack with someone using the Mida on Distant shore and was fully prepared to return to the salt. Reset came, and I’ve played quite a few matches. Unbalanced? Yes, but this time, my team was winning almost every game, and I’ve yet to find a six stack.

I used to love IB. Now like regular Crucible I will only play long enough to get the duplicate pinnacle disappointments, then move on to something fun.
-
I just love the comments by sweats telling us that SBMM gives us bad habits, while they trounce on lesser opponents in CBMM. Ironic, isn't it?
-
Bump. Bump because you should be playing people around your skill level (SBMM) if you wanna sweat or try something new -- so do I -- I just wanna do it with people at my trash level. Thanks. CBMM is not a casual experience. It's not a way to get better; hell, the connection isn't even better... We're fodder. "Play better players." No, let us play players within our skill range.
-
Give the players a choice of SBMM or CBMM in all playlist.

My guess: the idea to remove matchmaking was to create something worse to focus complaints away from the current major issues like balance and cheaters/hackers. Somebody decided “well, if they want something to complain about, we’ll give them something to complain about...removing matchmaking makes zero sense conceptually. Skilled players now hold back unskilled players progress on quests and bounties for many hours.....fun right?
-
OMG Thank you. Exactly! We loved playing Control, it was the most activity we played but now it's just not as fun getting destroyed all the time.
-
joined mid match on losing teams about to be mercy ruled... pure garbage I'd say fix it but obviously there is no skill left in the bungie house to do that...

Bearbeitet von thatdudeEd54: 7/2/2020 1:43:02 AMA season ago and all the seasons before that you clowns were wanting sbbm to go away from IB. Now that its gone you want it back? You know what I call you people who just are looking for something to complain about? Hypocrites
-
Mercy rule should be removed and team based matchmaking should be added.
-
Its freaking ridiculous
-
-
Banner was the same when there was skill based matchmaking.

63 AntwortenThey all need to stop whining- if they’re bottom 10%, they’ll play like bottom 10%. Plain and simple. In a contrived, protected, isolated subset of the crucible, they ‘felt’ as if they were decent players..they aren’t. If they have any interest in changing that, keep playing against the entire player population and perhaps they’ll learn something thereafter

I’ve found comp freelance is the best place to test my personal skill and mettle against players at my level, even though some players still blow me out of the water. Practice practice practice is all I can say.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von WulfPak666: 7/2/2020 12:05:34 AMPlease, I lost 15 games in a row to mercy when SBMM was on. It's not a new thing just because CBMM is on. Same with 6 stacks. 99% of the time you are definitely not playing against "stacks" just a clan or group of friends who are average. 6 average Joe's can feel like a stack if you and your team play reckless. People are literally complaining about the exact same stuff they complained about last Iron Banner. Only difference is that instead of your own skill or willingness to grab your own team of 6 you have something else to blame.
