Please Bungie, check the stats on the amount of mercies that are happening right now in IB. Just a hunch, but I think it might be an indication of how the removal of SBMM is impacting the average PVP player. I just finished playing 15 matches. 6 or 7 of them were ended by the mercy rule.
Bungie, I have a question:
Where do the average skill PVP players fit in this new landscape without SBMM? Where do we go to PVP other players at our skill level? Right now, the answer is we don't fit and there is no experience for us in PVP other than being fodder for folks waaaaay above our skill level. Trials, Survival, Elimination - competitive playlists all utterly dominated by high skill players. The only place we could compete was in the non-competitive playlists with SBMM. And over everyone else, high skill players can attest to the fact that the one thing that matters most in PVP is that the player feels like they can compete.
I think most of us "casuals" understand and accept that Trials isn't for us, and that we can't compete in the upper tier of Survival and Elimination (still have SBMM enabled) - we're average skill players. Of course we don't get to compete with the highly skilled players - they the best, we the rest. So why is it hard for seemingly you, Bungie, and the some of the sweats to understand that casuals deserve to be able to compete in PVP?
Please revert the decision to remove SBMM from non-competitive playlists.

6 AntwortenYep mercy matches galore! 50% I'm spawned into to losing matches with a few minutes to go....yeah go match making😂. There is still lag.

So nothing has changed, huh?

3 AntwortenBungie needs to fire their decision makers. Including Luke Smith. Like who was the idiot who thought CBMM would be fun? Almost every game I’ve played ends in mercy for one team or the other. That isn’t fun. Competing against similarly skilled players and having a close match is fun. And that isn’t the only thing the decision makers in the team have done to ruin this game either.

8 AntwortenI feel like removing SBMM just brought all the PvP elitists and sweaties out of the woodwork. A majority of the players in this game are casual players, and not really people who dedicate their time into this game like it's their full-time job. I wonder why Bungie is trying their hardest to make this game more like a job.

Now it's just unplayable I don't think I'll be playing it again this season or any other until this is fixed. Really disappointed with this year in general.

Nobody forces you to have 30 kills, when playing against teams. You should totally adapt and play clever, when playing against teams. As you know, it's not PvE, where you just run forward and kill everyone.

5 AntwortenThis is useless. It is like telling a rich person about poor person’s problems. People are effing selfish and only think about themselves. Yeah, I don’t want to face people of my caliber so I will tell someone to get gut. Why don’t you get good so you can compete with better than you, little ahole. Maybe you suck because you can’t fit in a rich neighborhood so you spit on lessers than you. Not everyone has aspirations to live in your neighborhood because they will be surrounded by aholes like you. Who wants that. Not me for sure. Human scum invades even the gaming world. Sad...very sad...

Bearbeitet von DiZ: 7/2/2020 9:06:18 AMIron Banner has always been notorious for matches ending in mercies. Maybe you weren't complaining about it back then, but I remeber seeing plenty of other people complaining even when IB was SBMM. If a team gets a triple cap within the first minute, and even worse if a lot of them grab Heavy, the game's pretty much a done deal. One team getting ten kills over another doesn't sound too bad in Control, right? Wrong, those ten kills happened during the Hunt, and now that team is roughly halfway to mercying, and a quarter of the way to a normal win. I'd attribute it more to the lower total point score, the lockdown system on triple caps, and people generally not playing defensive enough once they're the ones being "hunted" when it comes to the frequent mercies more than anything.

6 Antworten6 stacked yesterday and it was a bloodbath. We had a few games where we Mercy'd the enemy team...... and they didn't get over 10 points. Would be nice to actually have some longer games. It's fun to pub stomp, but not every single match everytime.
-
Had a hard day and jumped in IB to release.....laggy, mercy games and being spawned in to games with a few minutes left. Went to quick play and even worse. Survival I lost all 3 games. Not fun and frustrating. Also long waits. No other game has been like the d2 experience.

Well the number of stacked teams and level advantages don't exactly help. It's why I'm staying out of it. The pinnacle gear is nice, but when almost everyone is going to be at least 10 levels higher than me, well my only effective weapons will be the ones that can kill in one hit as every other one is going to require too many shots to be effective (4 or 5 headshots with NF for example) while they'll be killing me much faster. I have no interest in spamming Witherhoard, Mountaintop, Felwinters, and Revoker for all my kills, especially when once again (because it flew so well with everyone the first seversl times), I'd need to complete a quest that forces me to use weapons I don't want to use so I can upgrade my gear. And knowing Bungie's track record, this quest is likely bugged or unreasonably slow as well and they'll auto complete a step or two because they don't learn from mistakes.

Arent average players the biggest population? Do you prolly match other average players most of the time?

It was the same with SBMM

Idk. IB was always sweaty. Especially in d1. People don't go there to have fun. I'm torn when it comes to cbmm vs sbmm. I genuinely feel bad for player's I destroy, no sarcasm. I was in their shoes and it felt terrible. For my IB experience. Going against a 6 stack is always a L, they use meta and run in teams. They're meh when alone. Super Stacking is a big issue in destiny, especially on domination. Some of the solo lobbies are actually not that bad. Some players better some worse. Some used meta and some didn't. Overall those games were fine. Even during sbmm solo games weren't to bad for me. The solo ib games felt fair. Some were very close, and it felt fair competitively. Overall ib is ok 6/10. Some room for improvement but overall I like it. I feel like the reason player numbers are up are because of 2 things. -sunsetting -no armor quest People can acquire good armor easier. This iron banner had more loot. During ROI the first iron banner (arguably the best) did well because it had a lot a good loot. The armor was good with t12 rolls and the weapons were the best in class (clever dragon, distant star). We had 6 stacks sometimes but people played for the loot.

1 AntwortenMost players are average correct? That is what average means. Theoretically, 64% of players are of average skill. 18% of players are at the high end of the skill gap, and 18% at the low end. So chances are if you are an average player you probably won't get stomped. I understand that Iron Banner is a different issue because there are generally more 6 stacks. I was on the verge of quitting PVP because of sbmm. People were lagging around the map and I would sometimes spend 10 minutes searching for a match because it was trying to find people that are near my skill level. I dunno about you, but I really do not care about winning in quickly. If I lose I just get a little less valor points. Sbmm still exists in the modes where winning matters such as comp that way you're not getting stomped by someone completely above your skill level.

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von YOUMADDBRO?: 7/2/2020 6:55:55 PMNormally, I don’t reply to posts on Destiny’s Forums, however, the toxicity of the Destiny community is absolutely outrageous and outdated. People argue, belittle each-other over social media and/or spaces like uncivilized rats on there way to the next meal. Here’s a suggestion: Treat others the way you would like to be treated.. PLAIN AND SIMPLE!

This right here!!

Looks good to me :)

Iron banner before were mercy after mercy. Matchmaking isn’t the issue, it’s the triple cap lockdown mechanic.

Bearbeitet von Dude Abides 227: 7/2/2020 4:19:10 AMEven in a cbmm environment there needs to be team balancing of some kind. I ran my banner quest, all bounties then played some additional pvp across banner and qp. It's definitely broken, I went just over a 7.0kd(not efficiency) in the last 25 matches at 525 kills vs 75 deaths. Managed about 7/8 we Rans, even a few in banner. Lost all three we ran matches I got in banner too. Keep in mind, I solo queued only, even within banner. Team balancing needs to be a thing. While I enjoy putting up big numbers, I can't help but feel bad for others and it doesn't help me have fun, close matches.

1 AntwortenI’m on a 58 win streak in IB. Thank you scrubs!
-
Played like 7 games. Not a single mercy. Weird.
-
The reason is obvious. Sbmm doesn't make for great youtube clips.
-
Push push push rush rush rush. Fun fun fun. Not. One. Bit.

I laugh how these sweats complained to begin with about removing SBMM, complaining their basic crucible experience outside of competitive was far to sweaty and they just wanted to have fun and try out new weapons etc. Yet...... these trolls are still using the same shizz they would normally be running in those playlists with SBMM active! Felwinters, wardcliff coil, mountaintop, mindbenders etc lol who they kidding?? What a laugh!!! 👎👎

And the removal of light level advantage has only exacerbated the situation. Getting killed by a PVP goon 50 LL below is not fun.
