Please Bungie, check the stats on the amount of mercies that are happening right now in IB. Just a hunch, but I think it might be an indication of how the removal of SBMM is impacting the average PVP player. I just finished playing 15 matches. 6 or 7 of them were ended by the mercy rule.
Bungie, I have a question:
Where do the average skill PVP players fit in this new landscape without SBMM? Where do we go to PVP other players at our skill level? Right now, the answer is we don't fit and there is no experience for us in PVP other than being fodder for folks waaaaay above our skill level. Trials, Survival, Elimination - competitive playlists all utterly dominated by high skill players. The only place we could compete was in the non-competitive playlists with SBMM. And over everyone else, high skill players can attest to the fact that the one thing that matters most in PVP is that the player feels like they can compete.
I think most of us "casuals" understand and accept that Trials isn't for us, and that we can't compete in the upper tier of Survival and Elimination (still have SBMM enabled) - we're average skill players. Of course we don't get to compete with the highly skilled players - they the best, we the rest. So why is it hard for seemingly you, Bungie, and the some of the sweats to understand that casuals deserve to be able to compete in PVP?
Please revert the decision to remove SBMM from non-competitive playlists.

2 AntwortenIts kind of boring without sbmm to be honest. Im not the best player but went on a 34 game win streak with average KDA of 3.5

The problem is that when SBMM is on for anyone over say a 1.2 K/D it becomes a sweat fest where the Meta is used to the extreme. I personally love fusions since D1 beta and I have been a scout guy since day 1 but when I play SBMM I simply can't consistently survive using that combo. The joy of CBMM is that it allows us to use different builds and different weapons and not just the META. The win loss ratio seems to still be closer to 50/50 than I thought meaning, 1 good player,2 average players and 3 bad players per team...seems that way. Problem is the people who are struggling aren't even getting kills on the other struggling players. IDK what the fix is but for now I'd do what I done for the past 2 months and skip out on crucible except for bounties. I quit playing altogether because I felt like QP became trials sweat.

6 AntwortenExactly this! IB was always my favourite event as it's my (non-raider) best way of getting pinnacle gear but, right now, its an absolute disaster! As well as OP's points about the amount of 'mercy' results, in nearly every game you'll get 1 player with 30 or 40+ kills, and a load of cannon-fodder in single figures. This needs fixed...

6 AntwortenI wish bungie would implement ranks like they did in halo 2 and 3 You win you go up , you lose you go down , once you level out you will stay in a range of ranks , then they can match you based on a range of ranks for more competitive/balanced games. To be honest this this is what their sbmm was doing, with a tons of people playing it’s easy to get matches faster and match with people closer to Your skill, on the flip side both sbmm and ranks with a reduced population would make for longer wait times and more possibilities of playing people outside your skill / rank range so they can match you . I would prefer sbmm or a rank system , I prefer closer games, 2 nights ago we had a 5 stack and mercied 6 out of 7 teams we played, then I played some solo games and I was getting gang -blam!- like I had never played the game. It’s not an enjoyable experience atm Except for the sweats/streamers who can now pub stomping for their streams
-
Yup. Same experience. Quickplay stink on ice. Bungie listened to the Streamers upset because they were playing people at their level. Which means that even quickplay for them would be meta, meta, meta. And to their argument quickplay was meant to be "fun," and if you have to play a certain loadout they don't consider that fun (and if I did that 8+ hours a day, I wouldn't find it fun either). So when can you play non-meta weapons? When you play people that aren't as good as you. It gives you the freedom to run a suboptimal loadout and still win. Great for streamers and those on their teams, but bad for those of us that aren't even in the same league. We want to have fun too? And a parade of mercies isn't fun, no matter which side you're on.
-
Everyone just jumps ship everytime theirs a stacked team. Soon you won't get a match because as soon as everyone sees a stacked team, maybe sweats maybe not but they'll just keep quitting until they find a lobby of solo players.

6 AntwortenThanks for saying this. I’ve made this point continuously since the season started. Mostly I get “git gud” and stuff like that.

1 AntwortenIB has been ruined and the fun taken out of it, unless u r a serious crucible player who will no doubt be loving it. By the looks of it around 90% of the comments are from people who r sick of getting their arse kicked all the time. You need to sort it out and get back to SBMM. CBMM doesn’t work, u still get laggers, shot through walls and opponents who don’t seam to take damage

Bearbeitet von iliopoulosXD: 7/2/2020 7:16:11 PMWhile alI agree CBMM has made crucible much sweatner with matches generally with wider point spread and steamrolled. Win or lose everyone is playing a much more frantic pace every game. IB has been less so because of the power mechanic. So maybe its balancing out some players. Wither way I feel CBMM has suck a lot of the fun out of crucible for everyone..well almost everyone. Those from the upper middle on down in skill or play solo.

The only people that CBMM hurts, are non sweats. The only people that benefit are sweats, and by a long shot. I have lost a single game of iron banner this season so far out of at least 100 games because I normally 6 stack with people of my own skill level (People with unbroken/flawless title usually). We Mercy rule 90% of our matches. We can do 10 games in 30 minutes. It is honestly becoming an easier umbral engram/xp farm than most nightmare hunts.

10 AntwortenEven casuals deserve to have fun playing the game they paid money for. In the case of some of us still playing since D1, we paid a few times.
-
6 AntwortenI don't actually know what is better or not but all I know is that everything feels like a sweatfest now and it's no longer casual and fun like it used to be. Based on that I'd prefer SBMM whatever that did.
-
I’ve never been a fan of team based game modes besides elimination (mainly rumble player) but without SBMM IB just isn’t fun. Had one game where my entire team went negative and one guy on the other team with a 9.0 k/d. I think I’m above average when it comes to crucible but good god is iron banner a sweat fest right now.

2 AntwortenSBMM or CBMM means nothing if they can`t get rid of the hackers and cheaters. Some people have insane skills, and that is just how it is. Some are better then others. But at this point, it is not pvp. It is just AI with different skill lvl

Bearbeitet von Destiny2Gallows: 7/2/2020 6:50:28 PMThis is the difference for me. SBMM is giving me a wide range of gameplay ranging from me getting curbstomped. Me doing the curbstomping, or on the very rare occasion, an evenly matched game. This is what makes CBMM a nightmare. I see the same people everyday in at least one activity OUTSIDE of crucible. It sucks wind. To top it all off, I still play against laggy ass players and good God Bungie, fix the spawns. I just clipped a spawn where 2 of us spawned in and were immediately cut down.
-
13 AntwortenDaily Crucible Population keeps increasing and will probably soon surpass the all time highest during Season of the Worthy (SBMM). No MM change is needed atm.
-
IB should be its unique mode not found in normal crucible ....not this copycat shit
-
4 AntwortenI did a NF with a guy from LFG. He had the Flawless triumph. He explained that he and a few flawless friends 6 stacked their way to a 50+ game win streak in IB and was loving CBMM. I'd say CBMM has winners and losers...but just more losers 💁♂️
-
2 AntwortenBro it’s how iron banner is set up to work. The hunt mechanic encourages huge swings in points. There’s always going to be more mercies in IB. I’d prefer they just made it like regular control but it is what it is. It’s not matchmaking that’s the issue it’s the mode you’re playing.
-
i love the childish "i dont want to use the meta" argument ... still seeing a tonne of mountaintops, recluses, beloved/revokers, gnawing hungers in every match ... if you dont want to use meta, then you are one of the sad few who arent ...
-
I've solo-qued every IB game this season and I've been loving it. I even beat a couple stacked teams.
-
Wait, so then why was last season also mercy after mercy? We had SBMM last season.
-
1 AntwortenI too hate acquiring tokens quickly.
-
My win% last season for iron banner was a 20% most were mercies im at 60% right now i think and there hasn’t been too many mercies have you actually played any iron banner yet?
-
it wasn't too bad on xbox so I don't know. I don't think CBMM is a bad thing, I wouldn't want to go back to SBMM as I had to sweat it out every game. The issue with CBMM is premade lobbies stomping your average, casual and solo players. Perhaps capping the # of people in a premade lobby that can play IB is the way to go.
-
1 AntwortenPlayed about 1-2 hours earlier with 5 other friends. We lost one game I believe, and ran mercy after mercy after mercy. Their MM is a joke.
