If the Universe of Destiny is really continuously evolving forward, why will the Cosmodrome return in it's D1Y1-Status?
The Area and Landscape is touched by SIVA, so the Return is a Contradiction to the Promise of an "evolving World".

Rasputin was active for a time and Siva does what he tells it to. Others try to control siva but Rasputin is it's true master.

Bearbeitet von Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 6/21/2020 9:31:50 PMIf they aren’t going to update returning areas to be consistent with the current state of the universe it reeks of an appeal to nostalgia and nothing more really. I don’t want to play D1 strikes. I want strikes to be something that feels like it’s part of the evolving universe they claim to want. Despite that supposed commitment to an evolving by world, we’re just replaying the same unchanging activities and killing the same named bosses over and over again and it doesn’t feel like that.

They already snuck in D1 content with the moon. The switch has already started. And if the changes to the moon are indicative of what we can expect with the other D1 locations then I will continue to sit on the sidelines. And be sad.

Recycle, reduce, reuse.

5 AntwortenBungie has pretty much ditched rise of iron. Why is the wall back up in the new light mission? Where’s all the siva? Bungie doesn’t care anymore.

11 AntwortenBearbeitet von Xeno: 6/19/2020 4:12:46 PMHey. If it means getting Wrath of the Machine back sometime next year, I'm all for it.
VoG coming back makes no sense whatsoever. If the cosmodrome is coming back, it only makes sense for Wrath to come back. That or Crota's End on the moon.
Bearbeitet von Fate: 6/19/2020 9:11:36 PMYay recycled content

Content is hard...recycling, re skinning, re using is easy. Don’t worry though... it will be a nerfed cosmodrome...

36 AntwortenI don’t want to play Destiny 1’s content using Destiny 2’s awful setup.

Reissue,reskins, rotate- destinys motto.
-
1 AntwortenIt should return with both base Cosmodrome and Plaguelands merged to be one big map with a new route to allow exiting and entering the Plaguelands more convenient besides needing to go through the Rocket Yard.

1 AntwortenBecause we're going to "discover our past" and then it'll become realized that we are a Perfect Paradox ourselves the whole time, where our nameless guardian with no backstory, nobody really knowing where we came from since our race is interchangeable and our actions are credited to "The Guardian" regardless if we actually did them or not. We've ever actually existed, until we just "did". Because our timeline cannot exist with us in it without us being able to succeed, and now we're playing through the events told from the Legend of the Guardian as a bedtime story.

Bearbeitet von xbroggiex: 6/21/2020 3:29:43 PMThe real question we should all be asking is... who fixed the fecking wall? That and the New Light Mission makes no sense story wise. It can't be during D1 since House of Dusk didn't exist and it can't be during D2 since the Cosmodrome wall isn't damaged.

5 AntwortenDuh, How else are they going to bring Uldren back in the leaked D1 cutscene?
-
42 AntwortenBungie already explained this. They are remaking the old cosmodrome so they can expand on the NEW LIGHT players. So they can do all the first missions in the cosmodrome...waking up...getting a ship...getting a hyperdrive...getting a sparrow...unlocking travel to other planets....and most importantly.... Sephiks prime music 👈👈😎

17 AntwortenWhy don’t you just wait and let the story unfold before you complain.....

1 AntwortenBut I liked the cosmodrome

8 AntwortenIt's still a place that exists in the destiny universe, in the game's present time, so why shouldn't it come back?
-
The Vostok mission shows that Siva can become stagnant after awhile though.
-
6 AntwortenSIVA was barely in the actual Cosmodrome map, you’re thinking Plaguelands. Besides, with the SIVA replication chamber destroyed, there’s no way SIVA can come back, and this many years later, there’s probably very little left, even when it’s still a “quarantined area”
-
4 AntwortenThe reason is as follows: If you are a new light player, coming in and playing the new light cosmodrome mission, going to the tower for the first time, and then finding out that you can never go back there? How does that make any sense?
-
Pretty sure it’s not existing in the current timeline of D2. Like how you could still visit the cosmodrome after RoI launched.

The siva replicator is gone and several clean-up crews have been sent in. The siva will most likely be gone. However if the holes look patched up then there’s no explanation.
-
2 AntwortenWait...I might just be remembering wrong, but the Plaguelands (SIVA-fied Cosmodrome) were separate from the Cosmodrome-Cosmodrome because they were outside the wall, no? So unless there was a piece of lore that came out that I missed (entirely possible!) where SIVA started encroaching further in, wouldn't the Cosmodrome still basically be similar to what it was in D1? That's not saying there shouldn't be updates or changes, time has passed after all.

Cosmodrome =/= Plaguelands
