It’s sad that bungie is trying so HARD to create fomo. Here’s the deal, the moment the outcry started, that’s when bungie should’ve stopped ALL DEVELOPMENT and got rid of the fomo. Not wait until next EXPANSION.
The almighty explosion would’ve been better done as a cutscene. But here’s what’s more sad.
I honestly...don’t care that much. With weapon and armor retirement on the way, I really couldn’t have cared less if the almighty hit earth. I’ve never been a fan of the current tower we have, and our weapons and armor are going to be useless, so what’s the point?
I mean genuinely, what is the point at all? Why play for your progress to be thrown in the toilet and flushed? Why care if bungie doesn’t?
What makes matters worse is that because I’m an insomniac and usually am sleeping during reset, I wouldn’t have gotten to see the almighty explode, even if I had cared. Nobody wants this type of “you had to be there”. Except maybe scarab lord Luke Smith.
This isn’t what makes a game fun. I feel that it is a safe assumption that an overwhelming majority of the community would much prefer “you have to try this out”. YHTBT moments serve to bring people into the game for what? To wait for the next one? I love games that offer content for money and then lock you out of it in three months. That just makes me want to play so much right? Except it doesn’t.

Bearbeitet von Tiger (Harrowed): 6/8/2020 11:27:07 PMHonestly the discovery of the whisper and outbreak missions is are better examples of “you had to be there” moments. But instead we get a nerfed escalation protocol and lots and lots of bounty grinding. Season of dawn left me on a high note, so I guess I’m one of the few who enjoyed it, but now I’m going into this next season very little optimism. Maybe the new activities will be fun, but what’s the point when all my gear has a timer telling me “you can’t use this in the next raid”.

17 AntwortenI completely agree. Sunsetting has gutted what was left of the desire to play this game. Imagine doing Vex Offensive, Sundial and Seraph trash for fun because what weapons you get now means so little. Welcome to D2.

Be thorough. I uninstalled the game right before seeing their yhtbt tweet, and missing out doesn't bring me any grief.

2 AntwortenI want these types of events so stop trying to assume you speak for everyone.

1 AntwortenThankfully you don’t speak for everyone.

Indeed sad, the regrinding for the same gear was not a favorite in D1 and the seasons killed the clan and nine of the ten gamers in my family have left as well, good job LS.

1 AntwortenThey said they are designing to get away from FOMO.

Live events in other mmo’s I’ve played have been epic. Anyone remember the first public event fighting Lord Spiderface in CoH? I do. When they give you 24 hours notice, that’s a red flag that you’re not missing anything special. If it was going to be a big deal, they would have hyped it more and over time. This 24 hour deal was specifically done to feast on the fomo players. Lulz.

4 AntwortenA cutscene would have been great for history/lore fans like me. Instead, i wasnt even able to spawn on the tower to see the event due to the same beaver and others errors. #wehadtobethere
