Personally, I like playing as a mage. Terraria’s Specter (Hood) Armor I think solidified that for me. Glass cannons have felt better for me in terms of play style, such as massive DPS, damage converted into healing (sometimes), and the “high risk high reward” factor (also sometimes).

1 AntwortenDon't get me wrong, magic is cool and all. But it's pretty boring once you've cast Fireball the nth time. I may or may not also hate mages in general because of Skyrim giving that godsbedamned frost-cloud spell to damn near every high level mage. I much prefer using a melee weapon any day of the week. There's just something viscerally satisfying about smacking an enemy with a heavy hammer, sword, or axe. Lighter weapons are fun too, and I quite like most of them. Daggers are squarely in the purview of thieves and rogues though. Archers are like you wanted to be a warrior, but can't stand the thought of getting up close and personal so decided to co-opt the mage's gimmick of flinging things at people for fun and profit. You do it less stylishly, too. At least, until you get to memetic legolas levels of archery. Then you're pretty much the most stylish person in the country. Crossbows are like the axe of archery. It hits hard, and can mess your shit up with little effort, but it doesn't truly excel at anything being the poorman's bow. It DOES punch through platemail easier than bows do, generally, so it has that going for it at least. 'Course, then you get into the weird weapons like in Monster Hunter. Charge Blades, Insect Glaives, Switch-Axes, Hunting Horns, and Gunlances are all strange mixes of the three at times. I can't say myself for hunting horns and gunlances, but I do love me a good charge blade and switch-axe.

Bearbeitet von shell: 6/3/2020 11:33:03 PMIn video games, I always prefer healers and support roles. In TTRPGs, I don't think I'll ever have a favorite. There are so many options that I pretty much can't create a character without thinking of how much fun I'd be having with another playstyle. Although, I can say I hate playing healers in TTRPGs. If I'm playing a Cleric, I'm serving the god of death!

8 AntwortenMAGIC! I don’t care what class the magic actually is, I always go MAGIC! Mages arepretty much always the best! Except in Overwatch, where I went Mercy. I love healing! There are few feelings as satisfying as seeing your team take a huge barrage of fire, and yet have them all be nearly topped off because you’re such a great healer! I wish I knew more co-op games where I could be a healer like that. Killing Floor’s the only one I know, but even then I’m not, like, a pure healer.

I usually prefer to play as either a mage or a well-armoured melee fighter. In games that allow it, I like having magic and a sword. It's often difficult managing mana, so I like to have the more engaging melee combat combined with a powerful selection of offensive spells I can use against more challenging enemies. In more difficult games, like Dark Souls, I'll play a melee fighter for my first playthrough so I get used to the game, then do a second mage-sword-wielder playthrough later.

Magic is always fun.

I do like being wizards. Having a wide variety if fun spells to mess around with and make fun and crazy plans with. Although I also like any sort of support character too. My two main goals are to roleplay well but more important improve entertainment across the group for everyone. Therefore when I am not dming a support character is always nice since I can give my team little buffs to improve there awesomness.

I don’t really dislike any of the classes. But my favorite would definitely be melee. I’ve always found fighter characters fun to play, no matter if they are fully armored warriors, or even quick and agile monks.

4 AntwortenMy favorite class is Bard so YES In melee I'm Zorro and at range I'm Robin Hood. I can tank and debuff with a few Cutting Words, "Swiggity Swooty Your Attack Missed My Booty!" Buffs? With Inspiration, the awesomeness of my presence makes everyone around me do better at everything! Other spell casters are limited to their own lists, but Bards can just take from wherever! And they make that shit look good. Imagine a Necromancers army, now imagine them doing the Thriller dance. My Healing Words are literal, "Get up, nerd, you got people to hurt!" The battlefield is a concert and I'm in the mosh pit shredding a solo and setting off pyrotechnics around me. And did I mention skills? We got those. Bards are like Rogues that aren't Edgelords that fall apart in social situations, run out of breath on an afternoon stroll, or fall off their horse when it gets spooked. They get a few things they're amazing at, some more things they're great at, and with Jack of All Trades they're better than average at everything else. Anything you can do, Bards can do better!

all of them... at least in Terraria. in fact, I barely knew there were classes in there otherwise the "simple" class [Melee/Titan/Excalibur/Heavy] Then I ride that class all the way to mastery. (my Medic Class Rank in BField1 and Heavy Class Rank in BFrontII are proof) -- variety? not for this one trick pony!

Bearbeitet von Ach3r0n: 6/2/2020 9:02:41 PMIn dark souls 3, I prefer melee because it's simpler than magic. It also made me grow a hatred for sorcery because the crystal sage kept sniping me out of nowhere like he was a halo 2 sniper jackal. I'm sticking to a strength build instead of a mix of dex and strength. Don't know if I should try a dex build in a later playthrough, but people seem to hate them a lot.

I usually like classes that are not so strong in attacks, but are very quick and agile.

Bearbeitet von Myst3riousGam3r: 6/2/2020 7:27:28 PMRange #1 and Mage coming in at a close 2nd for me. Glass cannons have also been my preferred play style in games. Assassin type melee characters can be fun but it really depends on the game.

I honestly don't know. I usually stay away from Melee, but I can go either way with Magic or Ranger. In my last Dungeons and Dragons I was a support Paladin that had less health than our Druid because he knew how to play his cards right, but I didn't really enjoy it. I'm pretty flexible in what I do. Also, if anyone has any class ideas for Dungeons and Dragons I'd like to hear them. I'm blanking on what I want my next one to be, and I can't stick to an idea. Bearbeitet von Gingiebread: 6/2/2020 4:53:09 PMI just voted healer, but it really depends on the game/situation. In ESO I like to stick to a combo between melee, magic, and healing. I love being able to support my teammates yet still being effective in some way in the battlefield.
