This is a pathetic move imo. The sole reason to sun set armor is that you want to turn into a universal ornament. Which I’m sure is going to be impossible to earn so silver will be the only real choice.

Ye and covid19 isn't real and the earth is flat!!!

No way to tell until we get more details on the requirements needed to turn them into ornaments.

2 AntwortenPretty sure it's because of the mod slots thing but yeah you can believe what you want. We can always just ignore the fact that you still won't have to spend silver for those ornaments but hey, facts don't matter

What’s up matey!!! Still around and putting up good posts? I bailed after the solar changes and haven’t been on / forums since !

4 AntwortenLol seems like nobody understands the real problem with armor sunsetting it has nothing to do with looks, the real problem is that getting the right stats that match together perfectly to create a great build can take multiple seasons, as high roll stat armor is not only hard to come by but also incredibly hard to get good stat distributions on

1 AntwortenPeople say no this not the truth but actually yes it is the truth. They want to make you buy that season pass every season not just the September expansion but they also want you to buy those individual seasons via putting expiration date on armor. Game is basically evolving to p2w route with that gear decision.
-
I don’t know why silver isn’t a reward on some of the season pass tiers. Most season passes award you some of the premium currency even if it’s like 100 or so

1 AntwortenYou don’t need to convert everything to universal ornaments, but at least you’ll have the option...
-
i guess you're overlooking the fact they said you will be able to earn ornaments by playing the game, not just silver.

Well duh.

4 AntwortenIn D1, sun setting was the norm. Even when Taken King came out there was Y1 gear that couldn’t be infused, including exotics. To be honest, other than exotics, I don’t very many things from over a year ago.

2 AntwortenPretty sure the cost is an arm and a leg.

2 AntwortenI think we will be able to earn the ornaments with bright dust. They will just be severely limited in availability compared to the silver version. Just compare how right now we can get six previous armour ornament sets with silver, plus the current set to take it to seven. While with dust we can only get the current set.

Armour sun setting is even more pointless than weapon sunsetting. Bungie has already -blam!-ed up. I can feel it.
-
They are literally just going to be putting world armor sets in eververse as rotating sets - and probably at the same price if about $15 per set lol - that’s all this is - because they sure as heck aren’t going to be designing new stuff anymore... Re-usable assets - that’s what Bungie is selling you now... Basically if you played this game from the beginning you probably aren’t going to see anything better in the future...

3 AntwortenThe whole motivation of sunsetting is money. Which I don’t blame, but don’t peddle this crap that it’s “best for the game.”

1 Antworten
This game is ploy to sell micro transactions
Fixed it!
-
not really a ploy, pretty transparent they aren't putting money into new content and they don't want peeps to stop grinding cuz no micros so they want to recycle everything they can this team really hasn't wavered one iota since launch from their design goal of regular /timeplayed and micros being the highest live service goal

13 AntwortenNo. Let's go back a step so you can follow the logic why this is not the reason they are sunsetting armor. Weapon retirement is the cause for sunsetting overall, we have gotten too many top tier legendary weapons that are best-in-class by default. Many of them are Pinnacle weapons, but some are just normal legendary weapons. This makes the incentive to get new weapons almost non-existent. Additionally, it makes endgame content a joke. For example, Grandmaster Nightfalls ended up being extremely easy with certain top tier weapons like Mountaintop. Going along the same lines of thinking, consider the armor mods introduced over the past 2 seasons. The Charged with Light and Warmind Cell mechanics are both very unique and offer some diversity to the game. The concern is that over time, there is a possibility that certain combinations of mods can become overpowered, we are seeing that to some extent already. In order to allow for some crazy good builds in the short term, they are putting a cap on infusion so it does not introduce power creep long term. With that said, I'm actually not a fan of armor retirement for other reasons, mainly that the armor grind is much more time consuming. The only way it will work is if there are more reliable ways to get top tier armor, they have started moving in that direction, and if they continue, it COULD work, however, I'm not getting my hopes up. Where I disagree with you is motivation for armor sunsetting, it's not based on Eververse. Sure, they will offer Transmog for Silver as it is purely cosmetic, but there will be in game ways to do this as well. IF that in game way is Bright Dust, that's BS and I'll stand with you, however, I suspect it will be similar to how Upgrade Modules are acquired, which means they will be relatively easy to acquire.

Bungie are literally going to be putting world drop armor sets into eververse now lol

This company went from I want to be like Activision to I want to be Activision. We all know that new IP put this game on the backburner. It's why this game went to the new light system, Fortnite battel passes, cash shop, but It was only a benefit for this company. They made their money and are really happy about it, but it wasn't cool at all to ditch their player base. I actually kinda feel a little for the players that have been loyal fans since the day this company released the first game. Too man promises and not anywhere near enough action.

Nah ya think?

Actually did they say something about armor this twab, I didnt see it.
