I think what people who continue to play this game fail to understand is that this game is not a priority for Bungie anymore. Matter, the IP they are developing for China, via Netease, is where the top people are, this game is basically being kept on life support to keep mtx money rolling in. So if you are continuing to play the game and are unsatisfied with it you need to know this because it simply wont get any better. This game is not a top priority for this company anymore and if you are waiting for it to magically turn around and become amazing in some new dlc, well quite frankly you get what you deserve.

When Activision left I knew this game was put on the back burner and in huge trouble, I mean, how can anyone not see the lack of effort of updating this game in 4 years? It was Activivison that saved the director's butt for almost losing the entire player base. That's because they were working on that new IP and made that their priority just to leave this game with the shop and the Fortnite BS battle passes. I think it's really respectful of them to just leave their player base behind that paid their bills for the last 6 years for a mobile app company. Edit: Do yourself a favor and don't pay any attention to the people trying to troll you.

1 AntwortenInb4 this is removed you can’t speak out against their communist overlords no wonder there’s been so much censorship taking a page right of the Chinese play book

They aren’t putting that much development resources into a game that doesn’t come out for five years that we don’t even know the scale of. I’d say it’s far more likely most of their resources are going into a fall expansion or Destiny sequel, which is pretty much how it’s always gone.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von FL00FING AB0UT: 5/21/2020 6:34:57 PMOnly thing I’ll say is, I doubt Netease would let Bungie use money given to them for Matter, for Destiny. So where does the money for Destiny come from? You guessed, Destiny. Destiny exists so the company can have a product out that still makes money for them while they’re developing Matter. Imagine the money hole they’d be in if they had zero income from active products but still had to develop a new title. Probably why we’ve gotten such awful seasons recently while Bungie recoups enough time to be able to put an actual effort towards Destiny. I get it, it’s a business and money dictates all. Bungie made the decision that they’re willing to lose some players in hopes of gaining more in the next 3 years. This is a calculated gambit by Bungie that they think will pay off. And it probably will because apparently many more people here are willing to put up with it than not, and new players are unaffected by sunsetting, so. I get it. I’m just an accepted casualty in this. Feels nice.

You're 100% correct, other than it's not for China. Netease is used to get Asian gaming licences. They needed money to pay off Activision, netease get a share in the new games sales, poss just in Asia, in return for said gaming licence. Blizzard and others use them for the same thing.

13 AntwortenBearbeitet von The Hermit IX: 5/21/2020 1:49:37 AMI’m opposed to the entire philosophy that they have implemented post Forsaken. A year after Forsaken and I was extremely happy with everything they had done. Great content that was worth replaying, great activities that were the sources of fantastic weapons, multiple raids and the go fast philosophy with everything. Unbelievable dungeon, black armory weapons, menagerie was brilliant, dreaming city was fantastic. They buffed us, made us stronger and put out a massive amount of fantastic content. I was blown away and would of paid twice what I paid seeing the experience was not only fun and positive but it convinced me that D2 could be phenomenal. It lived up to the hype. This year was awful, the year of taking things away, nerfing things, bad content, bad activities, quests you can’t finish, small amount of weapons, everything is bugged, the game being shut down, locked exotics, bounty fest and barely any truly new weapons most being 2.0 versions or D1 weapons. Armor 2.0 started off badly but became the big win after it was adjusted a couple of seasons later. Then they drop sunsetting not only for weapons but for all the 2.0 armor we grinded, master worked and created builds with. It’s beyond absurd what they did this year and I’ve paid for everything since launch. I’m done spending any money until they wake up and realize they’ve gone in the wrong direction. In essence they dismantled every last part of Forsaken and it wouldn’t be shocking to see the pyramid ships destroy dreaming city at this point. With that said I believe the game still matters very much to them but they have a serious lack of leadership and vision atm.

Everyone shots on bungie . Yet shit Tom of people play this game . And I bet 100% of the people talking shit don’t know shit about game design or business . Blap71 you make some valid points and i agree that eververse should be removed from this game. But Whether we wanted it or not, we’ve stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let’s get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta’aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defences, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

1 AntwortenRemember when a company called Bungie (not these guys) created the highest grossing video game franchise ever? The people in charge over there now aren’t fit to lick their boots.

The Live Team has been managing this game since launch. The "top people" gave us vanilla D2. You must be new.

Yes, may be. But i perfer bungie help china make a new IP rather than taking control the destiny. May be bungie now make destiny worst, i believe year 4 content is better (with a lot of bug).

You know those dodgy people who set up a table with 3 cups and a ball under one of those? He charges people to play it and pick the cup with ball, only there’s no ball because he does a dodgy and removes it before the unsuspecting person can see it. The cups are destiny, the ball is the loot and the dodgy fellow is bungie lol

It’s pretty obvious at this point. So it’s a side game for me and my clan at best.

1 AntwortenThey already have m8,noticed after update that i'm taking slightlly more damage than before. Also higher end adds are are dealing out a bit more damage as well.My favorite was one of the Knights on the Tangled Shore, take him down to minimal health and before i'd changed ammo, back to full health and full shields.

Bearbeitet von Corrick II: 5/21/2020 3:27:42 PMThere is a possible future where the other game makes loads of money and Bungie can use some of it to bring Destiny back up to the standard of development it deserves. Or an investor could come along, who knows. But yes... if nothing changes dramatically in Bungie’s revenue stream, Destiny will stay pretty much like this. Kind of sad too, thinking back when this was Bungie’s bright future and now it’s just “the other game”.

Bearbeitet von Demon_XXVII: 5/21/2020 2:16:09 AMYep, “spend money on cosmetic crap via Eververse (with some items costing more than the bloomin’ DLC) for the next 4 years (whilst we release cut/paste busywork seasons) so we can use those millions to finance Matter & Rolex watches for Lord Bogeyflick Scarabious Then ditch Destiny (our studios greatest vision/premise) in the gutter because all the actual talent was pushed/left in disgust/despair” ~ Bungie

I think these live games should just be a side hustle for larger companies. Keep your tactics isolated

The "get what you deserve" comment seemed unnecessarily mean but yeah, this game has 'b-team' written all over it. Bungie has put their cash cow on life support while most of their resources are focused on the new IP.
