I finally watched The Rise of Skywalker
What the frick did I just watch? I had to pause and laugh when Palpatine used his ultra base boosted lightning. The pacing was so bad. Anytime the characters had a moment to talk, the plot was like “NOOOO, explosions are needed!”
It felt like stuff just happened for no real reason. Oh, Rey heals this random snake thing that just so happens to randomly break open a rock for an opening.
Rey: “I need to get the Sith way finder”
Kylo: “I destroy yours so you have to use mine! Muahahghahqh!”
Rey: “I HATE YOU”
Rey: “OH NO, I KILLED KYLO AMD FELT BAD!”
Rey: “I’ll exile myself and blow up Kylo’s ship because I’m sad!”
Rey: “Oh no I can’t go to Palpatine now”
Luke: “LOL NO.”
Rey: “LoL the way finder is fine! I’m not sad anymore!”
One of the dumbest movies I have seen.

3 AntwortenI didn’t think it was awful(they’re all better than Phantom), but the sequel trilogy feels very disjointed. It doesn’t feel much like a trilogy. It feels like separate stories with the same characters. There’s no real sense of build up or direct continuity. The original trilogy did this the best and eps 2-3 did it decently(Phantom feels out of place to me). It almost feels like they had no overarching plan and switched directors and writers out for each movie. Oh, wait.....

8 AntwortenI could type a novel up on everything wrong with this movie. But there were two moments that I thought were REALLY cool. The palpatine lightning storm in theaters with the bass boosted sound was glorious. I’m sorry if you didn’t get to experience it there, but that moment was amazing BECAUSE of the sound and visuals. And the part where rey blew up the ship. Visually, the movie was amazing. Absolutely loved the visuals and music through the whole movie. That’s the ONLY good thing about that piece of trash

Number 3 is really goodddddd but the dialogue is a meme Number 4 is good but Luke is whiny Number 5 is the best so shut up and agree Number 6 is also good but the first scene is too long Number 7 is a clone of number 4 Rogue one is pretty good and a tad bit underrated Number 8 is good but they made a lot of mistakes Solo is incredibly boring. Number 9 is ok but it was massively injured by number 8 Now pretend that it rhymed

Some of what Disney did was good like the mandalorian, clone wars tv reboot, and rogue one, but they really did a bad job with the main series of movies. Episode 7 was okay, but the rest of the movies were bad. Also they messed up the lore big-time.

3 AntwortenI went into episode 9 with pretty much expecting a shit show and it kind of was. But the one thing JJ did really well was the spectacle. Everytime they dropped a huge plotbomb out of nowhere they go back to something flashy. And I actually really liked the "bass boosted" force lightning. I thought it was a really cool moment. The Star Wars universe is filled with characters performing insane feats with their force powers but the movies didn't really have much of that.

I just read the leaks, had a friend who watched it confirm most of it to be true so that's enough for me. I'll force myself to watch it eventually but I'm in no rush.

1 Antworten[i]I’m still baffled that Disney and Lucas Film tried to make a Star Wars Trilogy without a plan. And Rise of Skywalker exposes JJ Abrams for the hack that he’s always been. I always thought he was a good idea man, but a terrible writer, one who relies too much on McGuffins and Mystery Boxes, but hasn’t thought through these things well enough to explain them. Rise of Skywalker has shown me that he’s not the great idea man I thought he was, there isn’t a single original or creative idea in the whole entire film. In hindsight, the Sequel Trilogy was never going to be very good with JJ at the helm, since he’s too busy trying to remake Episodes 4-6.[/i]

1 AntwortenThat Imperial TIE/LN Ben flies through hyperspace without a flight suit though. Yes. Yes that happened and it is [b][i]SO[/i][/b] stupid. And the hyperspace skipping! What the hell even that's not how hyperspace works, and furthermore those TIE pilots would have to have been entering the exact same co-ordinates that Poe was BEFORE HIM to actually follow him effectively. Even if that's how Hyperspace worked.
