You might think that I'm just gonna tell you to "shut up" and to "leave us alone" but on the contrary I'm here to agree with, and whole heartedly encourage you to, yes, stop playing this game. I was exactly the same way as you and I stopped playing all the way back when SK came out for being IMO the biggest waste of $30 I had ever spent. I uninstalled the game regardless of what the consequences might be, and I can tell you with absolute certainty that the short term repercussions are greatly outweighed by the massive benefit. The massive benefit being, finally feeling free. No longer feeling a sense of obligation to log back on at least once this week to check out the new stuff that you know you aren't gonna care about because of concepts like the addictive grind, the sunk cost fallacy, and FOMO, which are purposefully implemented tactics used by Bungie to keep you coming back every week.
The people who still play this game and genuinely enjoy it are new players and people who's only standards for what makes a good game is "haha, gun go pewpew." I'm telling you that you deserve better than to continue logging on in some cases every day, only to feel disappointed, and to question why you ever got on in the first place. Recently I've been playing Doom Eternal and the movement system and the gunplay actually reminded me a lot of Destiny's, but the difference between Doom and Destiny is that Doom is way funner and doesn't squander it's potential. Meanwhile Destiny is much like eating a meal at a 5-star restaurant that uses the finest ingredients, except the meal is practically raw and poorly seasoned, leaving you ultimately disappointed, but instead of getting a different meal you continue eating the one that sucks because it's also laced with cocaine, and now you are addicted. The only way to curb that addiction is to go full cold turkey and just delete the game, play a game more worth your time, and never look back.
Don't thank me, thank yourselves when you quit this game for good.

1 Antworten-No, you can’t keep playing Destiny, Bungie are incompetent! -Haha gun go pew pew. In all honesty though the gameplay is fun and I can enjoy it with a few friends. Doesn’t stop me acknowledging the game is definitely in a bad state. Not the worst state it’s been in, but the community definitely is. That requires addressing pronto.

Sadly this happens in far to many games. Veteran players get the shaft while developers cater to the new players and ftp module only to make a buck. Multiplayer gaming is going down the toilet.

Bungie: *releases new season/dlc trailer* Destiny Community: Yoooo! This looks so friggin hype! Let's go boys!! This season is gonna be so damn awesome!!!! Me: 🤔
been happening like this for 6 years now....
The only reason im still playing is cause i got the season pass and don’t want my money to go to waste. After next season they really REALLY need to sell me. Otherwise ill just quit. Got plenty of other games i can sink time into.
-
All I'm doing at this point is playing private matches with friends and getting the exotics when they come out (this LMG gonna suck cos I gotta participate in this games BS) but I stupidly bought the SK with annual pass so I'm at least gonna do the minimum until these seasons are over. Highly doubt I'll be getting next xpac it's getting real close to quittin time

Going on 3 weeks for me, yup cold turkeys the way to go. Feels great to be free and playing other games. Screw destiny and it’s broken philosophy thanks to Smith.

3 AntwortenI’m currently playing Destiny 2 to give me a break from The Division 2. I played D2 on release up to and including The Leviathan Raid, the first one, ran out of things to do, then TD2 released and played that ever since. The frustrations the community have in TD2 are on the same level as the frustrations in D2. Yes the frustrations are about different elements of the game but the seriousness are the same. My experience at the weekend of playing D2 were not of frustration but confusion. I was light 400 when I left and I had nothing other than to complete the raid at a high difficulty to do something to a exotic gun. I have pages and pages of stuff to do and felt lost so I opted to take it back to basics and redo the main story quest Red Legion to familiarise myself with the story and get to grips with the game controls and player movement. And I’m having an absolute blast. I don’t see the problems everyone on the forums is experiencing because I’ve had such a long time away. But I know who everyone feels because I feel the same way about TD2. But taking time away from your main game is something I highly recommend even just for your own sanity and enjoyment. The game isn’t going anywhere. D3 has not been make official. Gaming is to most, a hobby and a pastime and we should be having fun. If anyone is feeling frustrated and feels like quitting just give yourself a break and play something else you deserve to feel happy. Leave the frustration behind. Dip back in when some event crops up. I will be doing TD2 manhunt on Tuesday so I keep up with my progression. But I’ll be straight back in D2 once I’m done. Look after yourselves, Guardians.

1 AntwortenI was totally with you, agreeing with 90% of what you were saying, until you started to bash on people that still have fun playing the game. I'm one of those people, man. I have a couple hours of fun per day logging in and playing Crucible. I agree with you about the content and what-not, but just because I enjoy playing doesn't mean I'm some young, idiot noob that doesn't know good content from a hole in the ground. I think you'd help your cause more if you stuck to your bread-n-butter argument, left out the bashing of people that still get some enjoyment out of the game. For now, I've gotta down-vote, even though I agree with most of you're saying.
-
Yo dude that’s crazy
because I don’t remember asking
Came back after about a year and a half off. My goodness, the amount of shenanigans in crucible is out of control. Getting blown away through walls. I'm kind of disappointed in myself for buying Shadowkeep. My gut told me stay away, but nooooooooooo, guess being an optimist is my weakness.

10 AntwortenBearbeitet von NJStorm20: 4/20/2020 8:56:54 PMCrap like this amazes me. Gamers just aren't the gamers I grew up with. If you don't like the game, don't play it. Simple as that. All these people on here think they are important enough to -blam!- AFTER leaving is going to make a difference. I play the game because I want to. I don't play trials because I choose not to. Yes D2 is not D1, I will always prefer D1, which I go and play randomly. Best advise, if you leave, then stay away, there is no reason to talk about something you just don't care about and think others will follow suit. Players have their own minds. Or do you find yourself a better person that you think your comments are ACTUALLY the reason why people leave? Snowflakes, I tell ya

I went cold turkey on D2 gameplay about two+ months ago. In all honesty it was one of the best gaming decisions I’ve ever made. I do however tend to come here occasionally to verify that Bungie is still stepping all over their product.

1 AntwortenThis is so overly dramatic

I got Gamepass this past Saturday and have been playing Halo Wars of all things and loving it. Didn't even miss D2 at all.

Bearbeitet von Team Swat Enjoyer: 4/20/2020 9:18:22 PMReally no offense, its not personally vs you (other "quiters" are included). But who the hell are you guys to talk about other`s "low standards"? You dont like the game, you dont play it. What the hell is this speaking about beeing free etc. None is fking forcing you to play Destiny, do they? I have my fun playing PvP, so I play it. Yes there are sometimes some issues, yes it happens. Should I be mad about it? Why? I dont have any control about hackers or dcs. I want my fun and I get it. I find this "new" PvE activity borring so I dont play it, as I didnt with obelisks. Do I need to shit on Bungie for it? No I dont, you need to show some empathy guys. To manage a game isnt that easy like you think. I just hate nowadays attitude, you mean you paid for something, and you are a fking god now or what? It was your decision to buy and play this game.
-
Bungo: Wait, don’t leave we have Guardian Games! You can represent your class, and earn new stuff! Tbh, I’m actually kinda excited. Don’t hate me. I think the class items and colossus machine gun look cool, tho I don’t care about the place I come in and what color my cloak is. I’m just gonna slap the New Black Armory shader on it.
-
It’s a game you absolute loser lmao. It’s not that deep.
-
I would delete my game and my characters and my desk before I read those long ass paragraphs about how you hate the game yada yada blah blah blege...
-
1 AntwortenYeah yeah yeah. Its all just empty threats. I know it, bungo knows it, and even you know it. People are too addicted to this game. A lot of people are unhappy with this game and yet they play everyday. If the next dlc is crap, everyone will still pay for it and just -blam!- on the forums and give empty threats. The cycle will continue.
-
64 AntwortenSo when do you plan to cut all destiny ties and uninstall the app? If you're so much better off not playing, surely you don't need to hang around the forums to check on updates, or whatever excuse you might use for posting in forums of games you no longer play. It's a bit sad really
The people who still play this game and genuinely enjoy it are new players and people who's only standard for what makes a good game is "SHENANIGANS!!!"
Fixed that for you. Seriously though, if someone wants to take a break, let them. I've taken enough breaks in the time that the Destiny franchise has been out to fill up the time between Dark Below and just before Taken King. I'm not going to tell you what to play, that's all on you. I went and played some Titanfall, Minecraft, Halo, Dragon Age Inquisition, Dark Souls and a few others. What do I play now when I want to take a break? Broforce, Batman Arkham Asylum, TTT, pretty much any game that I can get away with shenanigans in is good. TLDR- Go out and have some fun. When you come back, we can get up to some shenanigans together. Peace!
-
im a veteran player who started playing a bit before the dark below came out. and while i dont like where d2 is headed i do honestly like the game regardless. the only problem i have is that the champion mods arnt felxible enough so im forced to use double primarys (a thing i really hate and dont like to use. unless its the recluse. or soemthing good) aside from that im enjoying d2. even if i dont like where its headed. and i dont feel like i have an obligation to keep playing at all. hell i have stopped playing for a few weeks at a time ever sine the seasonal model came out occasionally.
-
The game has turned into nothing more then a bounty fest.
-
I took a long break from October 2018 to this past Christmas. I know the “free” feeling you’re talking about. Not being back very long, I’m already starting to feel fatigued again. Kinda sad

Or spend the time irl.
