Iron banner forces me to think about submachine guns in crucible while "THE" rifle is buffed..
Hm?

4 AntwortenHopefully nowhere. Low skill weapons should stay in pve

Bearbeitet von DiZ: 3/28/2020 1:16:43 PMPrecision frame SMGs and Adaptive frame Auto Rifles have the same fire rate, but one has more damage, more shots in the mag, and significantly more range than the other. Try and guess which one...
It's the AR. That archetype of them kills even faster than Trace Rifles apparently. That's a Primary weapon killing faster than a Special weapon with the same functionality.
I was pleasantly surprised at Recluse’s performance during the IB step. 20 final blows in 2 matches. Tried Bugout Bag first. Didn’t last 2 minutes with it.
-
I just deleted most of my subs since they are outperformed by other weapons in most cases. For the IB quest... Huckleberry was the most useful
-
If you have Hero Burden that gun will shred players. I had one with kill clip and threat throat detector. Not the best perks but it's a good PVE weapon.
-
Smg’s don't really have a place while auto’s are as strong as they are, what with auto’s essentially being smg’s with better range
-
Recluse is alright it has its place and riskrunner in those specific situation when you get hit with arc damage very powerful
-
4 AntwortenSMG’s, Scouts, 110/140 HC have no place in PVP anymore.
-
Recluse still works great in PvP. Huckleberry shreds and Riskrunner is still viable there.
-
900rpms still shred.

2 AntwortenThere are simply too many weapon types AND sub-archetypes to ever make everything good. It will never happen. Never. If X and Y are good W and Z will be bad. Then, Bungie will tweak the sandbox; W/Z will be good, and X/Y will be bad. The cycle will continue.
-
If you happen to have tarabah that's what I used and man did it shred.

Bearbeitet von AberrantGiraffe: 3/27/2020 12:54:00 PMIf you are asking this because of the Iron Banana challenges, pull out that old Veist smg that looks like recluse, but green and without the binary phenix. Then, put everything on recoil reduction. (The perk is tap the trigger). It kinda becomes a laser and even though you have really low range, you can hit your targets at close to mid range. Thanks to the stability and recoil reduction, you can also HIT THEIR HEAD, unlike most smg’s. (I’m sorry i can’t remember the name 😅)

They're caught in an awkward spot where they're worse than Autos and Sidearms. There are a few exceptions, but even those don't really seem to beat the competition, they're just some alternatives Honestly, they feel like they're in that same spot Autos were when it came to HCs, but with Sidearms instead
-
Just use recluse if you want to use a a smg since they made it super easy to get and its still a good gun

1 AntwortenJust like 140 and 110 RPM hand cannons, they don't have a real purpose at all. They might with a max range roll on mouse and keyboard. Sidearms are better in the intended range of SMGs and autos shred them outside of that. Same thing with hand cannons. 150s do the same job in the same number of crits at the same range as 140s, with higher stability, handling, and aim assist. 110s are just bad. So it isn't shocking that once again an over adjustment in the sandbox has made some weapons feel out of place and useless. First it was scouts. Then it was some HC archetypes. Now it's SMGs. It won't end until Bungie decides to stop shifting the meta, rather than bridging the gap between meta and non-meta.
-
2 AntwortenOnly submachine gun that is decent is Recluse, but even then the shotgun meta is returning so its useless
-
4 AntwortenDon't you love how 600 rpm autos do more damage than 600 rpm smgs
-
In the vault. They get dumped on at close range by Sidearms and dumped on at close-mid range by Autos and especially SUROS. The only two SMGs worth using in PvP right now are Recluse and Huckleberry, and they're side-grades at best.
-
2 AntwortenRealised when I took Antiope-D in there. Took two fights to move unto the "never again" category.
-
2 AntwortenIn the vault. The get beat by sidearms in their effective range and get murdered by autos when they start to drop off. Bungie needs to increase the stability and mag size for subs across the board. They need more consistent headshots esp on console to compete.
-
Currently I only ever see antope and recluse in crucible. Never anything else
-
2 AntwortenSMGs are reaction counter weapons. Literally a personal defence weapon. PDW. You pull it out in response to an opponent pressuring in on you. SMGs have faster drawtime, better base hipfire, higher Crit multiplier, and outrange a shotgun. Other note is mod synergy. SMG is a scatter type weapon. So it pairs better with an AR or Pulse for targeting mods. Sidearm pairs better with scout and HCs as precision type. So, SMG do have a place, albeit a very narrow one. In general the weapon range space is too full. As Bungie catered to player idea demands and added sidearms, smgs, bows the range spectrum has become glutted.
-
To me it seems SMGs dont really have a place, the only two I use in PvP are Huckleberry and Recluse. Sidearms are much more consistent at close range. One way they could be buffed is by increasing accuracy when firing from the hip
