Hardlight needs to be changed for the sake of competitive PVP
Before the update, with the change to Hardlight's stability. It became one of the best Auto Rifles in the game. Since the change, it's ease of use became S Tier, along with its TTK now since the Worthy update.
I believe the Hardlight needs to be changed to add a skill ceiling. Since the gun is so easy to use and grants significant benefits just by spraying the weapon endlessly.
A change that I believe should happen is either: the buff to it's architype doesn't effect this weapon, the hard to control recoil is brought back while keeping the buff, the extra damage on already EXTRA ricochet is nerfed, or the infinite range of the weapon is removed. Something to change it up. Because this gun is absolutely insane. 3 of them being used by less than average PVP players can destroy a team of the highest caliber just because there's no counter. They can just spray.

Nooooope. lol Just because you struggle against a player with Hardlight doesn’t mean top tier players do. Nor does it mean there is no counter. If this were the case, every Hardlight v Hardlight encounter would end in a draw. I’ve seen plenty of footage of people with Hardlight getting outplayed. Including in Trials.

5 AntwortenPositives of HARD LIGHT: 1. No fall off 2. Reduced screen shake and more stability 3. A 48 round mag 4. Can cycle elements and melt any super 5. Bounces multiple times off of walls with bonus damage each bounce 6. Inherently high stats that correlate with aiming, bloom, and ease of use 7. Goes in the energy slot and pairs with other S tier weapons 8. Most maps are perfect for this weapon to bounce on 9. 0.7 optimal ttk 10. Pre nerf auto rifle flinch making it the hardest weapon to land follow up shots against Negatives of HARD LIGHT 1. Your skill degrades the longer you hold down the trigger 2. You can't hear the crickets 3. Dogs can get cancer 4. People are starving 5. Ummmm... 6. I'm running out of non existent negatives :(

I think all autos are in a really good spot, if anything other weapons should be tweaked to where autos are. But for me, I find that almost anything is viable in pvp if you play to it’s strengths. Maybe what I said doesn’t apply to comp as much, just speaking from my experiences.

You dont even need to use special to rez kill anymore, you can just spam hardlight and they die

I play comp. I'm fine with it. Im guessing it will be nerfed in Season 11 or maybe in a couple of seasons.

Funny thing is a majority of my matches (be control, weekly, rumble, or classic mix) are the same old same old of handcannons paired with shotguns with the sniper lane camping here and there like the previous seasons and when ever some one does use a auto rifle (let alone a exotic auto rifle) it is Suros Regime not Hardlight. I see way more Suros than Hardlights and sure a lot of other players can agree. So if Hardlight is so "OP" why is Suros used way more?

You could still point it where you wanted to bounce off of, and x2 damage already existed. Destiny needs to abandon "Competetive" PvP, not kill itself again trying to accommodate it like in Y1. Trials is clearly going to have consequences, hope people realize that. Anyone who asked for Trials to come back can't complain about any change made for it that sabotages everything. Fool once, shame on Bungie, twice, on us. Destiny has some of the biggest hypocrites and it shows: ARs suck, Exotics need to be worth it. *Hardlight gets some buffs alone*, no one cares, *then screen shake finally gone*, gets some happiness, *gets a damage buff to help the weapon type*, "KILL IT!!!"

8 AntwortenNo it shouldn't. Leave it as it is. Let Bungie see if it overused themselves in a few months time, if too many people are using it they'll nerf it straight back to everyones vault. Let people enjoy it, it's been 5 years guardians have been waiting for it's screen shake to be sorted.

I'm already destroying both these guns as they currently are. If you keep getting killed by them maybe you should just "get good"? Maybe stop trying to shotgun rush them? Maybe learn to hit your head shots with your hand cannons and snipers instead of relying on aim assist? Maybe try using a pulse rifle?

Naw, it’s the season of the autorifles. You nerf it then the next best one takes its place. That’s how Destiny PvP has always been. Nobody uses anything less than the best. Bungie doesn’t balance. The meta shift. Because that’s the easier way of keeping the game “fresh”

2 AntwortenHard light is fine imo. Personally the extra damage on ricochet might be the only real issue, bc it is really noticable on a few maps. If on PvP it was just standard ricochet rounds it would most likely balance out fine. Also It having no damage falloff doesn't make that much of a difference since aim assist range is a factor. I out gun 85% of hard lights I see at range with pulse rifles or scouts so it's not like they are too over powered. OG recluse was a bigger pain. Plus people should honestly try other autos...a few of them are definitely top tier and I personally don't see any difference in the amount of kills I get with hard light vs other autos. Bungie needs to fix spawn points...there's no reason anyone should get spawn killed by the same guy in his super 3 times in a row, or repeatedly spawn into an area surrounded by the opposite team

I don't play PvP, but I don't see any problem. Your opposition has HardLight. You have HardLight. You're even! If you win with 1234 kills and get killed 1230 times, you're in front. Same as 3 to 2. Maybe you don't like getting killed. I dunno. No offense, but is it an ego problem?
