A new season arrives - you forge your ass to get a weapon that will potentially have a new power level. - ( Depending on your time, it can be very fast, or at the end of the season, considering you hunt for the right perks) - you play with it, by the end of the season, and - next season, you delete/voult the weapon and start all over again with other weapons of the new season. 1.- Masterworking is useless now. 2.- Weapon ornaments are not worth now. 3.- Chasing loot ( weapons ), are not worth now. Why should I play now, then the new changes goes live? Just why? Is Bungie really going down that path? Is it really possible to trust someone who does not fully respect your dedication to the game you give? Do they really want to lose their loyal players who defend and try to justify what they do? Strange .... EDIT: typos

  • This is what Im for: - Vanguard and Crucible weapons should always be available, no retiring them - Raid weapons should be WAY more unique and powerful (Think Wrath of the Machine weapons) in their respective raid and out of it BUT these are the weapons that get retired - Damage increasing Perks GONE - Weaker/lesser used perks buffed up - Perks synergize with eachother Example: Rocket with Ambitious Assassins and Auto loading would be great if these to perks worked with eachother - Perks that synergize with our Subclass Where D2 currently is, and I HATE to admit this, weapon retiring is needed due to the fact that Bungie has changed their mind on so many things. What I mentioned above is basically a complete rework of our weapons and would be moot if our current weapons would remain. Again I hate the idea of weapon retirement, to an extent, but its needed now to hopefully bring us into a better ago. Now if these “new” weapons are going to have the same perks as in: - Damage Increasing Perks - Weaker/ Lesser Used perks Then retiring weapons is 100% pointless and literally only making us use weapons that LOOK different but have the same perks... which means we will go after the same perks we have now but just on a different gun. The problem is the perks... not the guns. Then we have toxic AF streamers such as Datto and Lono that criticizes and make fun of people that want to use the same weapons because they actually like using the same weapons. Guess what... people like the idea of using the same weapon. The issue right now is that the perks on those weapons are too strong. Personally I would be 100% fine with weapon retirement if Bungie could reliably make weapons that look good to me but this is a me issue. If retired weapon model would be ornaments I would be fine with it but that will never happen.

    • Things change, I’ll adapt. It’s fine with me. I understand people get used to certain weapons because they’re more comfortable using them. I for one am okay with it. I have weapons I like to use as well. When and if those weapons get retired, I’ll find something else to use.

      •
A new season arrives - you forge your ass to get a weapon that will have a new power level and will be unique from past weapons. You play with it, by the end of the season, and - next season, you keep playing with it while also collecting that season's weapons, since the endgame-viable lifespan is 9-15 months, not 3 months. You keep playing with it until it gets retired and then you still keep playing with it if you like it in non-endgame activities, while using new guns for endgame content 1.- Masterworking is still very useful, since guns aren't deleted, have long endgame-viable lifespans, and masterworking is cheap and very beneficial 2.- Weapon ornaments are still worth a lot, but maybe don't buy every single one you see? Maybe just for weapons you end up liking a lot? 3.- Chasing loot is still very much worth it, since new things will keep coming out and they will be reportedly stronger and more unique. Also, not a single gun from D2 Y3 will be retired with the new season, so everything relevant in Y3 will still be viable for a while still Bungie really is going down the path of trying to fix power creep, just without blowing up our vaults again. Condsidering the avenue they're taking of not deleting your things, I'd say they're doing a good job of balancing power creep and "respecting game dedication". They clearly do not want to lose players, because, you know, then they wouldn't have a company? Not strange in the least Also, new poll: This is an objectively good idea that balances out the demands of eternal loot, power creep, player investment, and production demands---------------------------- All smart people I'm just angry at Bungie for no reason/blindly hate everything they do/am caught up in the fun of rioting/didn't actually read anything but still want to voice an opinion/am a troll------------------------- Most of the vocal portion of the forums Swords are irrelevant to this discussion? ----------------------- Technically, all smart people, but good grief
There, FTFY

        •
? Do they really want to lose their loyal players who defend and try to justify what they do?
Every update and every change that comes with it, the same people say the same stupid comment. Guess what? The players are still here.
