I haven’t played in a while. I keep an ear out for updates and also check the forums a couple of times a week. The game became too much of a chore. Quests became too grindy and too repetitive. Get 100 so and so kills in Crucible, Strikes, Gambit, etc. Playing other games has made me realize that Destiny has some of the best gunplay in the industry, but lacks imagination for story and quests. Forsaken was the only Destiny 2 story I cared about and that was because I liked Cayde. He was the only character in the entire game that had personality and an annoying Uldren killed him off. Fetching type quests in most RPG games don’t feel repetitive because they have a sense of story and accomplishment behind them. With Bungie’s quests, it feels lackluster besides the very few rewarding quests like Outbreak Perfected, but again, we come back to repetitive mechanics especially when it comes to getting the catalyst. Bungie needs to overhaul so much in the game at the moment. They also need to decide what kind of game they are. They want to add RPG like armor and elements into the game, but don’t know how to. They want to be a looter shooter, but don’t know how to bring more loot and how to drop it in the game. Their will always be people to stand up and defend the game. I was one of them not that long ago. I hope the game succeeds and makes great changes, but I don’t see that happening at all in the near future.
