I've been away from Destiny for a few months, only getting on to see new story missions or do an odd patrol. I no longer feel that drive to do strikes or grind out Crucible to get a brand new pinnacle weapon. Anyone else feeling the burn out?
Edit: So uh this blew up. Did not expect that. In all honesty I love Destiny and I have been a fan of Bungie ever since I first played Halo 2 but recently I've lost a lot of love for Destiny as a game. I feel there's such an emphasis on the "you need to be there" mentality that Bungie is attempting to create memorable experiences by force. I first thought the season pass model would help the game but with no down time between seasons it feels like there is no time for the devs to make a proper content drop, instead resorting to a slow moving stream of content that leaves players unsatisfied and tired.

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von Alkanphell: 2/20/2020 11:22:51 PMI guess I'm just wondering what games you people are playing regularly for like 3 years with just so much freshness that you don't get burned out? Like seriously, the game is years old. It's not supposed to consume hours of your week, every week, for years. Want to know the secret of not getting burned out? Take a break. Edit Lol at you guys. Assuming you were a full price day one-er. You spent what, 200ish dollars up to this point? Please, enlighten me as to how many thousands of hours of original non repetitive content you feel your 200$ entitles you to? Is playing nearly every day, 52 weeks a year, for MULTIPLE YEARS really shocking to you that it feels tired at this point? Jesus, get an IRL hobby or something. Learn to bowl. And then be shocked when you spend 200 bucks in like a month doing that.

Bearbeitet von Shaft62702: 2/20/2020 8:26:13 AMThis whole season is a giant sack of dung. Can't even force myself to play it. Who has time to grind 5 hours a day to achieve anything in this game anymore.

Yea I’ve been burnt out, but i keep coming back because i have hope bungie is going to make the best version of destiny yet. I just don’t know when. Game is awesome just very poorly executed in some parts. And very well done in others.

Don't worry, Trials was just leaked. Enjoy PvPers! 👍 https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ

PvP is still fun but has major issues. The rest of the game is stale. Seasonal content is not even worth playing.

4 AntwortenI'm more burnt out with Bungie than the game itself. Bungie said, "Here is the gear you can earn and this is what it does." I put in the blood, sweat, and tears, and even tossed Bungie a little extra cash to give my new gear a special look. I grinded the grinds, slayed the slayers, and raided the raids. After years of getting the god-roll guns and armor that suit my play style, I just want to kick back and pop some alien noggins. Then one by one Bungie said, "This gear doesn't follow the vision we had." "We've released a new series of stuff, and now the old gear isn't compatible with the new upgrades." "You have to use this subset of weapons if you want to partake in this activity." "You have to use these weapons, to grind this material, to upgrade the gear you really want to use." "These upgrades only work with this armor." "These weapons only work with this armor." ...It's really wearing me down.

1 AntwortenSpeaking of burned out, I just wanted to hit Legend this season to get the title. Comp be more toxic than usual it seems. I mean people maining erentils be bagging these days :/ and why do I get stuck with people using Nameless Midnight and a pulse rifle combo? Like come on :/ the other team over there wrecking with NF and shit. I’ve gotten guys who are still wearing blue gear. Sigh. It’s the only thing left I really care to get. Win 5, then lose 4. Puts me back right at the beginning. Solo mind you. Then I try going in with a fireteam. Get destroyed even worse. I swear I have the worst luck.

Bearbeitet von AbsolutZeroGI: 2/20/2020 7:09:04 AMI'm burnt out as hell with like 95% of the game. These days, I find different challenges to keep myself engaged, like sherpa-ing raids. Otherwise I'd probably never play this game. Bungie is going with the "give you guys 1000 easy things to do" route, and, well, they're all easy so there's no sense of actual accomplishment playing this game most of the time.

I have more playtime in halo 2 than Destiny 2

Here. Im burnt. No cool armor. No new weapon archetypes. No new perks. Tired of farming rapid hit kill clip weapons. Ive been wearing the same armor look since forsaken dropped. Im only wearing seasonal armor cause of the event. Sublasses still dont have customization like d1. Just tired of it. Am i stoked for the lore of next season. Yes. Gameplay? No. I used to get so happy with releases. Now? Not so much.

Watch out people or someone might just come in here to ask you "why do you play this game?" Dur Hur. It could be a lot of trolls. But, I'm just trying to warn you. But yeah, I've been feeling the burned out feeling myself and I love Destiny as well, in the meantime I've been playing the Outer Worlds. It's a very good game. Only thing I can say is take breaks, lots and lots and lots of breaks.

Bearbeitet von CresterOts: 2/20/2020 6:28:57 AMmainly a loss if interest. Been hopping on lately just to get the Battle Pass Ornaments and that's it. Fashion Souls, man. Then I try to run Scourge here and there. Overall it just feels like the same ol shit different day type thing. Which will repeat with Warmind:Redux...unless something actually amazing happens. That's gameplay though. Lore and story wise...I'm interested.

I wasn’t going to buy Shadowkeep. I had gotten burned out around last summer. But a few friends talked me into it. So I bought just the expansion and first season. I am so happy that’s all I did. I used to buy every single dlc or expansion for D1. D2 came along and all that changed. I had fun for a while when it came out. Then almost all of my clan left and friends quit playing. Now we have new people in our clan and I’ve been playing lots of other games. I stop in and play a little bit once in a while. The gun play can’t be beat. But Bungie just took a wrong turn again. At least they did for me. I can’t get into this game like I did before. Maybe someday.

3 AntwortenI'm more bored than anything. Crucible has been the only real way I've enjoyed the game since shadowkeep dropped.

1 AntwortenI'm just waiting for Empyrean to finish.

I loved this season BUT the fact I'm required to grind PvE events in order to access the weapon / armor mods at the obelisks was too much. When I got this game back in August 2018, I wanted it for the PvP. This was before I became addicted to Gambit. (Yes, I love Gambit. So there! :P) Keeping up with the PvP meta was too much this season. The grind is too boring and the rewards are two little. I prefer to get the PvE mods and rewards via PvP, just like in Guild Wars 2. I don't like being forced to play PvE just to get what I need for PvP. Bungie should take a break and accumulate the next several seasons into one big DLC. Regarding PvE, that needs improvement badly. There are too many written lore pieces and not enough cutscenes. What I'd love to see: Use long cutscenes are a reward for our grind! I officially took a break from this game around the Chinese New Year for work reasons. In the meantime, I might just take up Division 2 (Hey, it's on sale! :D). I'm also looking forward to Outriders, the new Square Enix Destiny-inspired competitor that is set to release at the end of this year.

8 AntwortenI'm finding D2 quite enjoyable right now.
That D2 being Division 2...
Been burnt since the last roll back but the community tells me oh well nothing I can do, they’re right I just won’t play lol
-
1 AntwortenI have had friends come and go since Destiny first came out. As for me, I am still having fun playing Destiny 2 and play practically everyday. Since I don't give a rat's ass about meta's or chasing the so-called grind, I have lot's to do. Destiny is more fun with friends, but as I said friends come and go. Oh well.

Only thing I ever do is run pit of heresy every other week with a friend. I am very burnt out, game is just so unappealing lately
-
This is the problem with drip feed content and FOMO. Even the most dedicated Guardian needs a break to enjoy a bowl of ramen without everything exploding.
-
Went back to Destiny 1 full time, on both accounts.. Despise Bungie

4 AntwortenI got burned out reading all the replies

Yeah I came back around shadowkeep and I've been grinding iron banner for a good claws of the wolf with high cal rounds , headseeker and kill clip. I understand now that I will never get it and now I play starwars battlefront 2 as my main game. I'm super burnt out. I just want one gun
