I constantly run primary weapons - pulse and sidearm - in Crucible.
What does stop you using two primaries as well?

Ppl camping across the map with snipers and going invis with mindbenders and gemmini gestures

Well, Pulse vs Snipers, I know several shots vs one-shot potential however I believe you have a good chance with a long range pulse or scout. Shotties, well please watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJY0ku5O_qs even though I didn't know it I always thought sidearms are very strong and particularly personally I don't like shotguns. Finally - playing two primaries has a tactical advantage of depriving your opponents of special ammo. When you die they can't pick any special ammo from you. I am no good PvPer hence might be totally different on the higher levels but it doesn't always need to be the meta. Maybe in comp but even there I wouldn't play shotguns or handcannons as I'm simply not good with those. Regards

To be fair double primaries is extremely viable if you get the right combo of guns and play style. I went to max comp this season using mostly randys and my anonymous autumn. Shot gunners quickly got shut down close range and randys did everything else. Great combo in my opinion.
