Being inactive in 1 strike will NOT cause a ban. What likely caused it was having an illicit program running that you shouldn’t have. This does not have to be a program for D2 or even properly work if you used it in D2. Things such as CheatEngine or Artmoney simply need to have an open process running to get a ban.

Doing something once / 1 time does not lead to a restriction or ban unless you are using code injecting software or cheating in some way. Connection based restrictions or bans you are given a warning about your connection first before any restriction or ban is places.
