I have just one question:
Did anyone there at bungie ever considered that the Bastion was not an adequate reward for the level of complexity and enormity the puzzle quest presented the community?
I have to believe, if you all love the game as much as we do you should have known that "the largest, most complex puzzle/secret mission" to date would also require a reward of epic proportions.
The solution... my feedback:
Always side with "thats effin cool, lets break the game some more!!" Versus what will they say on reddit or here??
Who cares what the haters say??!! Give us cool gear!!!
We need more eff it moments.. bring back (fill in the blank)
Let the typical players complain... us diehards love this sh!t.. we need more.
But now we have a community torn, ppl that stopped everything to finish a HUGE puzzle for days... that are now justifying their actions by praising the moment, the puzzle.. the journey...
For Bastion?????
Sigh
My .02 cents if anyone cares to listen.
I just feel you wasted a HUGE opportunity and forever this massive community puzzle (which i think was great, loved every second of it till the reward) will be forever stained.
Sad really... but you still have time to fix it.
Just next time listen to us and give us a great community experience with an even greater reward... if its not "stupid epic omg" kind of gear your doing it wrong.
Come on guys and gals, you can do it!!

7 AntwortenThe puzzle was fine. It was players wild expectations and data mining that ruined the end result of the puzzle. It was only the first day when people datamined the end of the puzzle, ruining the surprise that it was our grave. This led to the "my favorite weapon" line being grossly over thought to the point where people were just throwing D1 exotics into the mix for fun. Even without the datamine, people expecting razelighter or another exotic sword were justified by earlier information, and the tomb itself. However, the people thinking ghorn or VM were just over hyping themselves. Bungie themselves even put out that rushing the puzzle wasn't the intended outcome of the secrecy, and there would be no "world first" for it. The wild speculation drove streamers to worn around the clock, so dont act as if bungie is at fault for over hyping the puzzle or its reward.

1 AntwortenIf everyone had to do this puzzle by themselves these forums would be riddled with people complaining of how game breaking the weapon was every time they rarely got killed by someone who had it in pvp.........even so I dont find it fun to play with at all.just feels like every other fusion to me.

1 AntwortenHaven’t used it yet but doesn’t it kill at range with 600 hit points? For one shot? Not cool enough? Like I said I have yet to use it and got it last Monday.

Here's another one 🙄

3 AntwortenI can understand your point, however for some reason I guessed early on that it was for bastion and because I’m not into this kind of puzzle quest or lore I was able to sit back and watch you fellas whip yourselves up into a frenzy with talk of ghorn, razelighter and vex myth. Was bungie guiltily of over hyping the puzzle? Nope. Did bungie tease any secret weapons? Nope. Was there any evidence to support the return of such legendary weapons? Nope. We’re grown men/woman guilty of losing their sh1t over something they themselves made up? Absolutely. Moral of the story: keep your expectations in check and you won’t be disappointed.
-
2 AntwortenBut you didn’t participate in this massive puzzle. Your “feedback” is borderline irrelevant. You can’t sit here and be all upset about a reward that took you the absolute minimal effort to do. The community experience was there, you didn’t participate. MANY of those who did enjoyed it. A lot of complaints are coming from those who didn’t do a thing.

3 AntwortenI thought the puzzle was neat in concept, but not thrilled that streamers annointed themselves as the only source of entry. If Bungie does this again there should be something in game that keeps track. Or a progress bar of some sort. I found that most streamers came across as very narcissistic. Which whatever, you do need to have a central point of information, but it turns alot of people off, or it creates the mind set of , "meh theyll figure it out." Thats not how to properly engage a community. Annointing a few with power is not how to engage everyone. This is just my view though, feel free to disagree, thats how you create converstaion.

My main hang up is that I was looking forward to the bastion quest on the 28th. Now I have nothing to look forward to till February, which granted isn't far away. But still. The roadmap tell us when to expect things, and when it is misleading that is annoying.

2 AntwortenThe reward is fine, it's acceptable
-
2 AntwortenYep. I feel like I’m watching a great movie with a horrible ending.
-
15 AntwortenI love the entitled attitude of people who clearly had nothing to do with solving the puzzle. We can all see each other’s game histories. We can see when people weren’t involved in the puzzle.
-
1 AntwortenNo offense, but that's the worst suggestion I've seen here in a long while.
-
7 AntwortenThe reward was a week's early access to a fairly Garbage weapon, wowwwwwwwww.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von SNAFU_BOHICA: 1/25/2020 3:56:50 AMOh this is one of those “you had to be there” moments when bungie presented the coolest puzzle ever than totally screwed up on the reward. It will show everyone how bungie pretty much has lost total connection to the game and it’s reward. Hey remember when the community took several days to complete the COT puzzle and got hog wash for it. You should have been there cuz if you were you wouldn’t be here now lmao. This is all for my amusement so please don’t hate to much. And try and have a laugh because that’s all any of us can do at this time. Bastion is an ok weapon. If it wasn’t on the roadmap it probably would have been received a lot better. However it wasn’t and we can’t change it now. So hopefully everyone learned from this experience.

2 AntwortenThe reward wasn't Bastion, because we were going to get Bastion anyway. Unless we weren't! and Bastion would've been lost forever if the puzzle wasnt complete. But Bungie doesnt have the balls to pull that kind of stunt. They would've released it anyway on the 28th, as of the puzzle was completed. Which brings up the question as to why the puzzle was necessary in the first place? Either way, win or lose, it would've ended with the same result. I don't think it was meant to have a reward at the end, because the journey and experience IS the reward.
-
1 AntwortenBecause this was a 'secret' mission - everyone assumed the reward would be a secret too and that's an understandable expecation to be honest. Add to this that there was a sword on the grave - this was teasing us to think that would be the reward. I don't buy that whoever desnged this and specifcially put the sword there wouldn't have known this so I think the disspointment from a large part of the community is justified.
-
3 Antworten“A greater reward” lmao The game had “greater rewards” and what happened?
-
1 AntwortenThe quests biggest downfall imo was the reward was something we already knew was coming, people make the excuse of 'oh we get it a week earlier though' which I don't buy honestly. If Bastion wasn't shown on the roadmap and was a surprise exotic much like Outbreak and Whisper were (well secret aside from the dataminers) then it would have more likely gone over more smoothly for sure. But with Bastion being slated to release the week after everyone had thought maybe this was another Whisper/Outbreak type deal with the weapon and some other stuff at the end of it. But all we got was an already expected weapon, some lore and an emblem. Doesn't even sound like we will get anything like a catalyst or ship from it given the Corridors of Time are closing next week. Probably would have taken some of the sting out of it if those were hidden in the Corridors as well for that little added bonus.

3 AntwortenThe puzzle was a wild adventure : i watch every day as much as i could the community struggle to ge the right pieces and even submitted mine , BUT in the end i truly believe the reward of Bastion should have been kept out of the roadmap . Meaning it would have been way better to display "Exotic weapon quest" instead of showing us every angles of it prior to release to then find out its the reward for an hidden puzzles. Puzzles are usually secret and awesome the reward for it should be the same!!
-
1 AntwortenThe time for nice talk with Bungie has run its course for many players. The time for the player base to give Bungie a kick in the butt is now. Unacceptable. Bottom Line. I agree with your overall thought. Bungie needs to reward players for their time invested playing. The Bastion was not a fitting reward. It was simply a cop-out, killing 2 birds with one stone. The exotic on the roadmap and the quest reward being the same item further speak to the laziness witnessed in Development since the launch of Shadowkeep.
-
1 AntwortenAll of the other secret quests gave you... Exotic weapons. Not new ones, returning exotics from D1. You really think that a brand new Exotic as the reward was completely out of line?
-
3 AntwortenIn the past, being able to get something early was something people loved Now people are mad that they didn't have to wait 2 weeks more to start the corridors (I hate all of yall)
-
12 AntwortenYou are unsatisfied as one of the leaders in solving this puzzle and getting Bastion? What would satisfy you? A free copy of Destiny 3, fill out your exotic collection or the one shot gold gun from Goldeneye (an OMG OP item would break the game, not worth it because everyone would complain when its needed to be nerfed)? Is this reward for everyone that finishes this puzzle? A small portion of the community worked on this puzzle. I think one new exotic is perfect for a reward that goes out to the whole community. A majority of which just watch a strategy guide to get an easy reward. The reward for being a leader in finishing the puzzle is satisfaction in doing so and helping the community. Thanks for working on it.
-
3 AntwortenFor some that’s the real reward. The puzzle, the chase, the thrill of not knowing what’s to come. The joy of being the one to solve a massive puzzle that’s got everyone hyped. For many that’s really all it takes to be happy

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von joshjda: 1/24/2020 8:48:38 PMOnly weapon that would have sufficed is an exotic sword that switches between all the elements and abilities of our old d1 exotic swords by holding square. Before you yell that's op think about it it's really not.
