Hi,
A few days ago I was chilling in a twitch chat when the broadcaster brought up this amazing idea.
It goes like this: If you really like the stats on an exotic you got, why not have the possibility of changing its element by paying X amount of Ascendant Shards (I personally thought of 10)??? BUT, this is a one time offer. Once you changed its element once, it stays like that forever.
Think about it! You have a really dope pair of Lunafaction Boots but you got them with, for example, arc and you maybe want them with void since Izanagi is popular in PVE. Or you have void dunemarchers with OP stats but you like to shotgun a lot in PVP so you want them with Arc.
I would really appreciate it if people would leave their honest opinions about this in the comments. I honestly think it's reasonable and another good reason to grind Nightfalls.
Give this a thought. Peace!

1 AntwortenThis thread reminded me of some criticisms I had regarding the 2.0 armor, to the point where I took some time to make my own crazy suggestions on what could be changed. I am not making myself out to be an expert on this though, so anyone is more than welcome to criticize these ideas.
1.) Enhancement Prisms should be the armor exclusive version of Enhancement Cores. Think of of the original (legendary) Ascendant Shards in D1 that were used to upgrade armor; Prisms would be their D2 equivalent while Cores would be the equivalent of Ascendant Energy. Their conversion ratio should preferably be lowered, and their distribution in the game would be changed to accommodate the shifted economy. Alternatively, we could just remove Enchancement Prisms altogether because they just exist to needlessly fluff up the masterworking system. 2.) Armor masterwork leveling is changed to mirror weapons' leveling so they don't need super absorbent amounts of materials for a single masterwork. Seriously though, how many cores does it currently take to masterwork just one legendary armor piece, much less an exotic? 3.) Ascendant shards are no longer needed for masterworking Legendary armor. They're also lowered to 1 or 2 to masterwork an Exotic. Shards are also much less expensive, but now you can only purchase one a week per account (still encouraging people to play endgame activities to obtain them quickly). 4.) Depending on community thoughts, armor masterworks go back to being a specialized boost rather than a general one. If so, armor masterworks could be rerolled using Ascendant Shards; Legendaries would require one while exotics require 2 or 3. 5.) Increase the amount of places to obtain Ascendant Shards. Imo, Shards should be a possible drop in all pinnacle activities as well as PvP. For PvP in particular, they should have a small chance of dropping when you reset your Valor/Infamy rank, but a reasonably higher chance from winning games while at Mythic or higher in Competitive. 6.) Xur should also sell Glass Needles that rerolls armor affinities. Should cost 1 needle for legendaries and 2 or 3 for exotics. Dunno what the price could be, maybe 50 shards a pop for an example.
1 AntwortenOr...they could bring back glass needles

2 AntwortenDo you not realize that would mean Bungie actually letting us play the game how we want. I mean come on now you and I both know that won’t ever happen. It Puke’s way or nothing at all.
-
1 AntwortenHow about let us exchange nothing and change the element...
-
10 seems a bit too expensive for me. Maybe 1, and make it repeatable. But then I'm not a fan of elemental affinity in the first place.
-
Oh for a moment I thought you ment change weapon types, but this would be nice
-
7 AntwortenExotic armour should just be able to equip any mod.
-
Bungie would know most people would want void and you would have a 50/50 chance to change to the element you want. So bungie would screw the players and make I change between solar and arc a couple times just to waste materials on you
-
Considering I've not had 10 shards at any one time, or any time, yes, this would be acceptable.

1 AntwortenI’d rather bungie let us use shards to change the masterwork of some god roll weapons with terrible masterworks. Who the hell needs stability on a mindbender’s?
-
2 AntwortenWhy? Ascendant Shards are already barely available for a lot of people, considering you get 3 in a season pass, and then only on 980 Ordeal runs, which the name speaks for itself, some people don't want to grind those for a chance to get one. Exotic armour should just be free element, not even for builds, but just for inventory space. I play Titan, I don't want 3 pairs of Synthoceps, Doomfangs, Arma, ect not that id be able to carry 3 realistically anyway.

2 AntwortenMust be new here

1 AntwortenAn Ascendant Shard, tho? That’s a lot of money, bro. Ascendent Shards are those gold balls we spent 10 prisms on. 1 prism is what we spend 10 enhancement core on 😭 😭😭
