There are tons of people that only want to play the PvE content and there are plenty who just want to play the PvP, so Bungie constantly trying to get people to play both is frustrating as hell. I was doing the new quest "completing an impossible task" and I got to the part where you need to kill 25 guardians. Like why? Would it take me a long time to do? Nope. Probably only two or three games, but I don't enjoy PvP at all, in any game. It stresses me out, whether I win or lose. There is a good chance, I wont to do this quest line at all now. This goes for PvP to. They shouldn't have to farm nightfalls to get their upgrade materials. How about their end game? Trails is gone and we don't know if it will ever come back, or if it will get replaced. Resetting their rank doesn't give shit and Iron banner isn't around most of the time.
Let people play the content they want to play instead of forcing people to play everything.
Edit: Hi. So something I'm seeing a lot of is basically people telling me that I don't have the right to ask for changes, because it's Bungie's game and that I need to just deal with it.
My response: Why? Why should I not bring up something that I think needs changing, for a franchise I love? I want to enjoy this game. This is one thing that is making it hard for me to enjoy it, so I'm asking for this to be changed, so I can fully enjoy it.
Edit 2: For all the people that think that I think Bungie is literally forcing me to play PvP. Hyperbole. Didn't think I would have to state this, but I've gotten a few responses like this.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Mk-II-Crusader: 12/21/2019 11:56:59 PMThis is for budgie I am fed up with the introduction of pvp elements of a story based quest line, and I'm getting sick and tried of getting excited about a quest just to have the door slammed on me saying go play pvp well **** you. And I do want to finish these quests but I have no desire to play pvp, so now another season quest line will go uncompleted and that's always fun (>'-')> <('-'<) ^(' - ')^ <('-'<) (>'-')>. And I don't care at all in what pvp player say the only thing they care about is there k/d

3 AntwortenExotic quests ect should allow players a path to choose: Play PvE: Go kill *** yellow bar or bosses Play PvP: Go kill *** guardians. It's not that difficult and they did have it in a previous Forsaken quest.

17 AntwortenOsiris: Guardian, you must go save Saint-14! Me: Ok! Where do I start? Osiris: Go murder 25 fellow guardians! Me: Wait...what?
-
I always feel bad 4 ppl like you. I can tell when I play pve only ppl in pvp this week bc of that quest and they get absolutely slapped up. It's not fun for me and I know it cant be for them. Pve and pvp optional requirements cant be that hard.
-
4 AntwortenI had to do a double take at first. You just get through a story mission, kinda. Then it's like go slaughter some Guardians. Hold Up!? What!?
-
2 AntwortenYes please Bungie separate PVE content from PVP content. Especially when it comes too these type of Quests. Some people enjoy or don't mind PVP, others absolutely detest or avoid it. Nothing is wrong with either side's choice. However please give us options with the ability to complete said quests without forcing us into aspects of a game-mode we may or may not enjoy. I've seen a lot of excellent suggestions that would remedy topics similar to this with regards to PVE an PVP.

Bearbeitet von acia zemko: 12/19/2019 9:46:59 PMSo let’s go with this. You want to play crucible fine. Not going to make a full on story around the crucible. Not going to give you materials and such just for doing crucible. Destiny at the origin was only meant to be PvE. So if anything crucible players need to be doing PvE and PvP is completely optional not tied to and story or campaign content.
-
At one time I was a good PVP player, held around a 1.8 kd, top 2% percent in a few game modes playing almost entirely solo, but I just REALLY don’t like crucible anymore cause the stress and frustration of it isn’t worth it. That’s my own problem I suppose, but it’s still frustrating to have to get back into a game mode that makes me really angry, just to be able to move some story progression along.

2 AntwortenI agree with you, Bungie needs to keep the promise they made back in D1 when they changed the currency so people wouldn't need to play pvp to obtain a currency to buy stuff from crucible vendors, or dead orbit. They promised no more pushing people into activities, play what you want, but soon as the new dlcs was released and exotic swords were introduced, to people's surprise, part of the quest requirement was pvp, so much for letting people play what they want, they didn't really need to change the currency after all. (LMAO, good times) I don't like pvp, mostly because of the TOXIC atmosphere and the abysmal matchmaking!!! Bungie wants to successfully integrate pvp and pve together, the problem they are halving is the "SUCCESFULLY" part!!!!

1 AntwortenThis is a big part of why Destiny always frustrates me. I HATE pvp. Even when I'm winning I'm not having fun. I avoid it whenever possible. But some quests just force you to play it. I try to skip most of the quests that advertise pvp up front. What I really hate are the quests where the pvp part is like step 5 or 6 of a mostly PvE quest. Do nightfall: cool Do strikes: cool do patrol: cool do a story mission: cool got into the crucible: WHAT?!?! noooo!!! why now?.
-
This crap needs to stop. I haven't done some of the weapon quests because they have a pvp component. That's my choice to skip those. This is a major step in a season, locked behind an activity that I loathe. I am terrible at pvp, never play it in any game. Give options for people who don't want to pvp or pve. At the very least make it 5 kills, not 25 and lower the pve requirements so its balanced for the pvp players who only want to pvp. Maybe make it 500 nightfalls or 50 pvp kills, whichever activity you chose to do.

1 AntwortenI agree they should stop making me play pve to obtain anything in a quest
-
5 AntwortenIt would be nice to have pve and pvp options for everything as some quests do. Kill 25 guardians or 100 cabal or whatever it may be. For me, I would kill 1000 of anything in pve before I'd play pvp.
-
1 AntwortenLol all the pvp tryhards acting tough and shaming a pve player. Blow it out your ass. 😂
-
4 AntwortenI don't know why people are saying you don't have the right to ask, you paid for their product, and if people didn't say anything barely anything would change, so as far I'm concerned that's a terrible excuse from those people. I agree with you though, I don't like being forced into doing PvP in order to finish a questline, it stresses me out too. To finish that quest though, I just played a couple of rounds of Scorched, which is active this week. It's far less stressful than regular PvP, and much quicker too.

3 Antworten😂 Imagine buying a game and refusing to play a third of it. I don’t get why you kids are so proud.

1 AntwortenOsiris: about 25 kills This guy: "can't be bothered."

2 AntwortenI agree, I wish PvE quests were more oriented towards yanno.... PvE.... and vice versas for PvP! However my only issue(mildly) is that "Lore wise" sometimes it makes sense for a PvE quest to include PvP. Now you could argue that "if PvP and PvE need to cross over, make that questline a Gambit focused quest" which makes sense considering most lore that mixes the two together tends to be Dredgen and such. So I agree mostly because the Saint 14 quest everyone is upset about literally makes NO sense for why it needs PvP in it, no actual backing, no hardcore lore, its just a random thing they chose to add in. So in light of all that, I agree in regard to this quest but I disagree for quests that may force players to cross over if it makes sense with the games Lore.

11 Antwortenpeople like yourself baffle me. because you don't like an aspect of a game you claim to love it needs to change. in what world does that exist? if you love the game love all of it or find a game that fits you. the game is all modes, not the parts you pick and choose. should Bungie decide any mode is a quest step, if you want the reward you do it. anything is is belly aching moaning and groaning.

3 AntwortenPathetic.

1 AntwortenAt first, I was annoyed too. I'm not a fan of the crucible, never was, never will be. HOWEVER... You can also play Gambit. And while it will take longer, I've found Gambit is actually a ton of fun. Yesterday was my first taste of Gambit since I only came back to this game last week after being away since before Forsaken dropped and holy crap...yeah just play Gambit. You'll get those 25 Guardian kills eventually.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Endoproxy: 12/21/2019 5:12:27 PMOMG First I totally agree with the original post as do most PVE players. But pretty much everything can be mirrored for PVP players. For the majority of the player base PVP and PVE just do not get along. The problem is Bungie had this brilliant idea to put both in the same game and they've never been able to make it work. At its core, it is a flawed concept because you're effectively taking two completely different types of players with completely different mindsets and forcing them to play together. What makes it worse is that Bungie continuously trolls the player base into crossing over all the damn time. Many PVP players have no problem making it very clear they don't want PVE players in PVP. I've been on the receiving end of this way too many times. Here's the thing guys, most players in general don't want to be in the other game mode in the first place so blame Bungie not each other. I'm not great at PVP I'll admit, but getting s**t on because of it isn't cool. I've seen PVP players in PVE all decked out in crucible gear die more than me and I'm a hunter main lol. I don't give them a hard time My point here is there are two sides to the coin so seriously stop making bs comments toward each other. Will we ever really get along? Looking at a lot of the comment in this post probably not but I'm giving it a shot anyway

EVERY quest should have a PvE or PvP AND solo/team route...
-
3 AntwortenNo, it's their game. Don't like it don't play it 👍

3 AntwortenOk boomer

I agree. They are control freaks. They sold us on a long term campaign game and now they want us to play pvp, like it or not. I play for fun and not to please the hired help at Bungle. Lots of other games out there.
