Destiny was originally presented to us as a game that would grow over time. The original vision shared was a world evolving over 10 years. I think we can all agree that the first 5 years have no lived up to the expectation set by Bungie. One of the major factors in my disappointment is the evolution of Eververse from Destiny 1 to Destiny 2. Originally introduced as a way to purchase additional emotes, Eververse was sold to us as a way to help fund mini-events inside the game world. We were to purchase these small extras and increase the quality of in-game events as a result.
Well, here we are 5 years later and Eververse is no longer a small shop funding mini-events but instead, it is now the sole focus of the entire game. Every single thing added to the game is only there to create new cash shop items. All of the cosmetic items that made playing Destiny rewarding have been moved from the slot machine and into the vending machine. Bungie has become greedy and stripped their game of anything cool to sell it to you one piece at a time. They like to make you believe that Eververse is helping create more content but that is lip service. There is no more content now than before and there are fewer weapons and armor than at any other point in the life of the game.
Bungie will comment on anything but Eververse. As a community, it should be the #1 point of focus in our feedback. Sparrows, Ships, Shaders, and Ornaments should be in the game... not inside the cash shop.
Edit: To prove my point, here we are at the top of the feedback forum and Bungie is still not commenting. They refuse to say anything about EV.

1 AntwortenThe minds that created the destiny universe are no longer working for bungie because they quit. This game will never be what it was supposed to be.

10 AntwortenImagine how awesome this game would be if they took out eververse and put all those items into different parts of the game. -strike specific loot -rare world drops -rare bounty rewards -rare matchmaking playlist rewards Oh wait..they did have that before and chose greed over quality.

Luke Smith ruined Destiny. His primary tool was eververse

Bearbeitet von name: 12/20/2019 1:15:43 PMeververse is basically a symbol for bungies inability to make actual content in a timely manner thats why it was created , to replace dlc this should not be rewarded with any money

LFG cancerous are ruined destiny

oh dear a company needs money to stay a float in this world what a crime serisolu though if they did this while still with activision id be mad but the fact that they are solo and have no cusion of a big company to land on so they need money to pay for empleyees, hardware and rent on their buildng (if they do im not sure about that) so in shosrt your saying that because bunige needs money to stay open it's greedy? i fail to see your point here sir or madam i see a company earning revenue for their product thats all

1 AntwortenDude if the first thing on ur mind when u load destiny is about the games microtransactions you got a problem. Ignore it and play the game.

1 AntwortenJust picture the people voting "eververse is fine" Wow

4 Antwortenas a free to play title, i'm okay with eververse, but the waypoint at the tower pisses me off. it's still there, blinking...
-
1 AntwortenEververse's only redeeming feature is that the money from it helped Bungie free themselves from Activision. That's about it. And it funds the developer now that they've gone free to play. Free games like this and Star Trek Online are the only place where I'll have any sort of tolerance for microtransactions.

What really has ruined destiny is Lord of Wolves. Actually -blam!- that gun. They made halo but can't balance the game really tragic.

Stupid, useless feedback like this has ruined Destiny(and/or prevented it’s evolution). Great Job!

People really need to stop thinking that the stuff in eververse is content that would have been in the game if eververse wasn't. All the content that is created for eververse is paid for with revenue generated by eververse. If they did not have eververse, all of those things that are sold in eververse would simply not exist. They would not have been put into other areas og the game, the creation of said assets would never have been budgeted in. Why is this so hard for people to understand? If you dont like eververse, you can ignore it. It does not affect the rest of the game in any meaningful way. It's only effect is you will occasionally get FREE access to some cosmetics.

Bearbeitet von Oh Lawd He Comin': 12/21/2019 4:45:35 AMOn one hand, I agree with you, but on the other, I disagree. Where I disagree, is that it is not greed motivating Bungie, but the necessity to keep Destiny 2 as a justifiable pursuit. There is very little hype surrounding Destiny 2 this far into its years. The introduction of "New Light" was a good example of that...they know that everyone who intended to buy the game, or will buy the game within the foreseeable future, already has. The only way to bring in new players is to offer some of it for free. So the focus shifts to remaining profitable through existing players, and unfortunately the income from selling a DLC, even for $40, split between a sizable game development staff, is not a lot of money. Many people in the field are fairly well-paid, and a company can't just expect their employees to be underpaid and not jump ship. They also have servers, rent for their facilities, advertising, and so forth to pay for. With all that in mind, Bungie also can't just stagnate as a company and run Destiny 2 as a project just to break-even, so there has to be a focus on driving profits, they are a business, first and foremost. Can you really blame them for trying to maximize Eververse spending? I can't. Where I agree however, is that Bungie has indeed allowed Eververse to ruin Destiny 2. I have definitely spent a good amount of money on Eververse, probably about $100 over two years. It was fun to get a cool cosmetic to pair with all your other cool stuff once in a while. More and more lately, it feels like most of the cool stuff is in Eververse. More and more content feels like an afterthought. The sparrow that should be an rare drop from the Scarlet Keep Nightfall being an Eververse exclusive, and then giving that Nightfall no exclusive drop unlike almost all others, was extremely off-putting for me. I think what Bungie is really failing at is the balance of quality content between Eververse and the rest of the game. I stopped buying stuff not long after Shadowkeep, and haven't played for the last few weeks. They removed worthwhile PvP rewards, and then dwindled down any other incentive to actually play the game to a trickle. I think they could have managed to achieve profitability and still keep the game fun, but at least in my opinion, the latter is kind of fading away. I think it would have been smarter for them to focus on getting people to stick around and spend moderately, rather than try to squeeze every last dollar out of people now. Just my two cents,

Nah, eververse saved destiny 👍
-
I think there should be better ways to get bright dust in larger quantities and more things available to purchase with bright dust. With that said I have zero problems with them using the shop to make money. I just purchased the dawning warlock armor and it was the best bright dust I’ve ever spent. Armor is one of my favorites along with EP and Dreaming city armor.

no, Eververse hasn't ruined the game. the crybabies have.

10 AntwortenBearbeitet von Mayhem420: 12/20/2019 12:37:53 PMAllot of you people need to take a Buiness course.. How do you think Bungie pays the people who work on the game? Good will? Being nice?? Seriously.. buy the stuff or dont.. but stop acting like its the end of the world.

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von blade329: 12/19/2019 3:39:49 PMSo dramatic. No, the Eververse has not ruined Destiny. You aren't obligated to buy anything there. Is it over priced? YES. However, the market will dictate that over time. If they aren't selling anything, prices will come down. If they are making money, then it's obvious that players are okay with it.

Bearbeitet von Blaxsun: 12/20/2019 4:42:48 PMBungie isn’t going to comment. Eververse is their sole bread and butter now (unless you think the F2P sector is handing money over fist for the season pass). The fact that the season pass is discounted 40% speaks volumes. So I opt for (*) Never gonna change, tired of seeing these threads.

1 AntwortenI called it in D1 when they announced it. The community tho...oh its fine, its just emotes and will help pay for extra content. Now look at the eververse, $15 single class armor sets, more gear than playable content gets. I believe someone figured out dawning event alone has about $250 worth of items added. Bungie acts like this is a free game.

1 AntwortenDestiny 2 becoming free 2 play was the worse thing that has happened, because of this they now have a reason to milk the playerbase, and the other worse thing that has happened was Luke smith from kotaku becoming the leader of the destiny bungie team.
-
13 AntwortenNo..... ppl like you ruin destiny, crowding the forums with ridiculous arguments about how eververse isn't fair. Not a single thing in the store has any affect on the gameplay... D2 does have Many Problems right now, but cosmetics aren't one of them. The sooner you kids stop flooding the forums asking for handouts/cheaper ornaments and wanting your god-mode supers back so you can stay alive in pvp for more than 2 kills... the better this game could be :)
-
They need to take a page out of Digital Extremes play book. Every time you purchase something cosmetic from the store, your gifted platinum and one month duration experience boosters. Either way, I'm not tripping off cosmetic junk in the eververse.

7 AntwortenBungie themselves killed the game, not just eververse itself
