I believe there should be a sidearm type that has high RPM like an SMG, low range, decent recoil, low impact. If anyone has played titanfall 2, it would come in the form of the RE-45 auto-pistol. I think that a high mag super fast firing auto pistol for close ranges would help players deal with weapons like shotguns and players who can't play anything other than should charge. This way it would feel more like a backup to medium range weapons, without taking the place of main weapons like SMGs due to magazine size, range, and impact. What do you think?
