I mean CryEngine has existed for like 6 or 7 years now so I’m doubtful to say the least but I’m open to seeing what it can do. Thoughts?

3 AntwortenYeah "cutting edge" and will most likely ship with less content than Halo 3 Nobody cares about the technical talk. We want to see gameplay.

4 Antworten
“The Halo engine is a very technical, engineering-focused engine. It’s super hard for creatives to work in,” Ross said, “It’s super hard for a lot of creatives to work in, at one time. We did a ton of work, on Halo 4, on the engine, to get it to look… I think it looked amazing for being on the last generation on the last year of the platform.
But Halo 4 looked like trash. The only reason anyone might’ve been confused into thinking it looked good is cuz they went blind from all those obnoxious and unnecessary lens flares. Halo 3 had better textures ffs.

Everyone says their own stuff is the best.

Cryengine sucks, there is a reason they went out of business. Looking decent, and thats why Crysis looks at best these days, doesn't make up for how horrible it is to implement for every other system in the game.

9 AntwortenI don't really care what the software is. I expect it to be better than the predecessor because that's how things evolve in gaming. What I am more interested in is this statement;
Described as a “spiritual reboot” of the first-person shooter series, which launched in 2001, the game’s also in development for Xbox One and PC.
I don't know what exactly that means, but if it does bring back the older version of run & gun, play style as opposed to OP armor perks, super op guns, and no more self spawning vehicles whenever you like then I'm sold.
