I played D1 yesterday and I was on Mars. I swore I heard a Psion mumble "The Traveler is evil" I wished I would have saved that clip. Are we the bad guys from the other point of view?
-
A random white orb in the sky denying us our rightful deaths just so it can have slaves to fight for it while it runs from its enemy like a coward? Sounds pretty evil to me.
-
In any war, the opposition is always the bad guy, just depends whose side you're fighting on.

8 AntwortenBearbeitet von Ferus Lux: 11/28/2019 7:20:41 AMNot bad, but the Traveler IS mischievous because it causes life to never die and if nothing dies, then nothing changes. The Pyramids want to correct that, and them crippling the Traveler again and killing us for good is Salvation from the Traveler's "strength from heterodox" game, and allows us to die and do our part to forming the final shape. A more natural course. Imagine how ugly a garden would get if it went without maintenance and culling.

1 AntwortenJust going to put this out there.... Remember when we thought Activision were the “bad guys”?
-
All perspective... Also, Psions speak Cabal. Most likely it was just phonetics.
-
Maybe the Psion did say that. But he didn't say it from a planet in his solar system, now did he?
-
No one in war sees themselves as bad guys, only the ones that stand against them are bad guys.
-
Humans are inherently shitheads.
-
Cabal see us as unworthy and spoiled, as you can see from the red war story's cutscenes. Fallen had their own collapse and want the traveler because they had it before us. Vex just want everything to become vex. No light, no dark, just vex. Loyalist cabal(calus) see us as calus' favorite and want us to become his shadow, but will die in battle against us for their emperor Hive/Taken serve the darkness, all they do is serve the sword logic by causing destruction to feed their worms(hive) or causing destruction because they're forced to(taken), both serve oryx and by extension, the darkness. Guardians are only the bad guys when we attack unprovoked or we "steal" something another group thinks is "theirs" i.e. Traveler. So only to the fallen, red leigon, and green cabal are we the bad guys. The others are just instruments of the darkness(Calus came in contact with the darkness and became the delusional maniac he is now)
-
Probably, but the hive/taken and sol divisive vex are blatantly evil (worship darkness and want to achieve utter annihilation of all life in the universe until only the strongest being, which at that point would be the darkness itself, remains). Everything else deserves some sympathy while also remembering they did some pretty terrible things to us too.

7 AntwortenBearbeitet von RoninPhoenix650: 11/27/2019 6:47:15 AMShort version, yes. Middle version: Fallen see us as thieves who stole the traveler. (Was in their system before ours and left them) Vex see us as both something to study and murderers. (They are here to see how we beat the hive who they are at war with and every interaction we have with them we make it violent not them) Cabal see us as unworthy and we attacked them first on mars in d1. Hive are the closest to evil and aside from crota who was a douche nozzle the rest of the hive have some basis for revenge. Originally the awoken saw us as troublemakers and wanted nothing to do with us, until after the black heart. (End of d1) The long version: please don’t make me do the long version.
-
Guardians, cabal, hive, fallen and vex are all seagulls. The traveller is a chip on the beach
-
It’s all perspective. The fallen see us as thieves who stole the traveler from them, even though it was forced out of the fallen’s system by the darkness and chose us of free will.
-
4 AntwortenWe may well be working for a bad guy anyway. As a member of DO I certainly don't trust the Traveller, don't forget that the Eliksni at one point in their history had a similar relationship with the Traveller that we have today - and look what happened to them.

4 AntwortenThis has been my theory for years. Bungie seems to give small hints...like when the queens brother said to us,”do you even know what side your on”
-
2 AntwortenFrom their point of view? Well...yeah of course. I feel like that could be said of most (realistic) 'bad guys'. If they didnt think they were right, then why would they do what they do? That would be an interesting clip to get though if you're right...I dont know that I recall ever hearing a psion speak an earth-based language
-
8 AntwortenWell to the cabal we killed both their emperors to the hive we killed 2 gods the fallen we destroyed their whole way of life and the vex after this season are probably not gonna be as powerful as they were in d1
-
6 AntwortenWe killed Crota...... we killed Oryx...... we killed Nokris....... we killed Savathun and last Oryx daughter we actually killed everything in our path. Not once we talk to our enemies. Is that answer your question?
-
Yes we are the baddies. We are going to be tried at the Hague for all that we are doing wrong against those who invaded our solar system in search of power that can only be gifted and not taken.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Kord: 11/27/2019 6:52:16 AMYou do know that we were just chilling in our own solar system, thinking about maybe checking out the nearby stars when they showed up and just started killing everyone they could find? At no point have any of them done anything that makes them worthy of sympathy, and no the tiny number of fallen that have seen the writing on the wall and realized they are going to be extinct if they don't get us to stop killing them count. They tried to kill all of us, if any of them want peace now they are going to have to prove to us that they are worthy of our mercy. The vex want to turn all matter in the universe into more vex or computers to run more simulations. The cabal are just a stereotypical expanding empire that is fine with enslaving anyone they meet and if they prove too strong they blow up the local star. Do I even really need to explain why the hive need to die? We didn't start this fight, and we are not killing them for fun or any selfish reasons,(unless you count wanting to not die or not live as a slave a good reason for them to kill humanity?) and at any time these other groups could leave our system and we would stop killing them
-
See the pic. Do you feel like you are the pic? Because that makes you a dredgen. No guardian is a bad guy.
-
15 AntwortenIn the eyes of the fallen we are thieves In the eyes of the Cabal we are in the way In the eyes of the vex we are life that must be eradicated. In the eyes of the hive we are enemies. In my eyes the fallen can be our greatest allies if we give them a chance.
-
But the hive have caused entire races to go extinct
-
none of us are bad.

8 AntwortenAll we do is murder the top dogs of the System with no regard for the beings beneath them. We are no better than any other top murderer in the System. Every Baron we killed was right. We are no better than them.
