I am confused. I skipped the entire season of the drifter as an example, what exactly did I miss out on that i cant go back and do right now if i so felt like it?
And that idea was the only example you gave about how the game is being made for streamers which in reality it sounds to me like the game would be made for "early adopters" if the idea that you miss out on alot of story if you dont play immediately upon launch of something actually holds water.
Also as a side comment the entire drifter arc seems like a side story with no real plot importance for future content to me.

I believe OP was talking about Bungie's plan for Y3. Along the course of the year, each season is going to bring season exclusive content. If you don't play that season, you miss out on most of the content that released in that season. For example, if black armory was part of Y3, we would only have the forges for the duration of the black armory season, then they would go away and be replaced by the next season's content.

Interesting. I assume this is still paid content right? Why would you buy it in the first place if you dont intend to play it? And just off the cuff depending on what content is going away, you could consider this content to be like the Christmas event. Nobody complains the christmas content isn't available year round.

I don't see anything wrong with that honestly. Sure we miss events but there will always be more. Helps make sure that the game doesn't become so overcrowded with activities and bloat up every patrol area. I think one of the main problems is FOMO. People are so scared of missing out on content that they think Bungie is forcing them to play the game in order to get better gear when in reality anyone can just leave and come back later and get gear from another season that will still level them up.

Who da fuq coined FOMO as a word? I have never heard that before this month. Kids these days making up words that actually get added to the dictionary because they become popular.

No the main problem is value. I'm paying for a video to play, not one that forces me to play and deletes itself.

Forces you to play under what circumstances though? You can always just not play the game and just wait until there is another season that peaks your interest. I skipped Season of the Drifter for example and I barely even touch Reckoning or Gambit today. I would be perfectly fine if they get rid of Reckoning in all honesty.
