So here I am wide awake at 5am and suddenly a strange thought pops into my head.
No I'm not talking about seeing Luke Smith in a babies nappy knocking back tequila shots while reciting the complete works of Shakespeare.
Moving on.. rapidly. ......
Would it be a good idea to see wear and tear on Guardians armor?
When you first get an item it is in pristine condition and over the course of time it gets tears, rips, holes and dirt in them. Maybe even a little bit of blood or Vex milk hahaha
There would have to be a way of making it new and fresh again so that those who want to look clean and crispy can do so. Maybe a vendor in the Tower can make them new again for some Glimmer or planetary materials.
Obviously this it not something that is game changing, but for those Guardians that like the role play side of things it could be worth a giggle or two.
Thoughts? (now to brace myself for the trolling that is about to happen)

1 AntwortenOne of my favorite D1 cloaks, the cloak of perception, was torn at the bottom with blood on it. Always thought it was cool and looked nice.

I’d rather be able to take enemy weapons. Like a hive boomer or take the exoskeleton of a hive and use that as armor Ala Crotas end

1 AntwortenNot a huge fan of weapon /armor breaking. More materials, currency and junk to carry around, something else to worry about in game. Fallout 76 did that. Now Bethesda is selling repair kits in their cash shop. I think it's a terrible idea
-
And there should be a sewing shop and dry cleaner charging real money from Eververse store to clean up our gear!!
-
That be nice i thought about that with our guns like if someone shoots your gun by accident it'll be damage and to repair it you go visit the gunsmith kinda wish it was like red redemption 2 like when you fall in mud your gun legit gotta get cleaned.
-
Yes it would. And titans need a kilt.
-
Oh yeah i like the idea of armor wear and tear then some pieces fall off and then they get grappled by enemies and then... Oh wait
-
Wear and tear is fine if shown over time. But when your new Hunter cloak drops with rips, tears, patches and duct tape already on it.....
-
Although i hate the look of wear and tear armor i can Imagine a team of 6 going through the raid and then stepping out on the other side victorious and looking like they got run over by a semi.

at 5am, I'm normally thinking of all the ways to become a billionaire so can quit my job

4 AntwortenCould see it now, after a Striker titan spends a while grinding in the EDZ he comes to the tower caked in mud. He's immediately lead to a platform where his ankles are secured and the platform slowly moved through the "guardian wash" Jets of water spray the armour from every direction before being pushed through an array of soapy sponges and polish to get that armour gleaming again. Emerging from the other side the visor is given a quick polish by the attendant, who then states "everwash is at your service, see you again soon Guardian"

I’m heard Maj Levante of the Office of Vanguard Intel tell guardians to keep their armor clean during the most recent event. If she were to run a guardian laundry as cover operation she would need to be permanent vendor again.

I'm going to have to go with... every time we die and are revived by our ghost our equipment is renewed as well.
-
10 AntwortenTrue, although i woke up at 2am thinking where on earth did the Germans get all there steel from in WW2......?????? Had to google it in the morning... bloody Norwegians! TBH i don't really look at other guardians armour close enough to make a judgement call on this one.

2 AntwortenMaybe the longer you are in an activity the armor would get scuffed and dirty and what not like in a strike the closer to the end the more battle worn your gear appears and possibly just resets after as in Ghosts restore it on transmat
I know most of not all strikes aren't very long but you get what I mean

Vex milk
is that what you’re calling it? 🤔

Like ornaments that you unlock over time? Not a bad idea. Maybe do that based on location if you are in one activity for awhile -

-
Oh wow. Now we’re gonna have to pay eververse to clean up our armour for us, thanks guy.

2 Antwortengear damage and repairs can add another level to difficulty and strategy. it is a good idea and makes sense. it would give you more reason to play smarter, more oh shit moments when mid battle a piece of gear breaks.
-
I'd definitely be down for it on weapons as well because I can see that more in first person
-
I’ve woken up at five in the morning and wondered what Amanda Holliday was doing. So I guess each to their own.

3 AntwortenCame for the clothes idea, stayed for more about Luke Smith in nappies please.

Something similar to this was the crotas end raid armor ornaments, all the glows went away when you got damaged and would regrow as you healed.
