Edit, la finale: we got an official response about the state of the armor and are getting more information soon. It'd be nice if we give them some slack and then see what they have to present for further discussions.
Since the rest of the thread is not relevant with the above revelations, I've moved it into the spoiler below, but it is still accessible in its entirety for anyone interested in what was going on here.
TL;DR: Pax west leaked the Garden of Salvation raid armor for hunters, which is a reskin of a CoO Eververse armor set, instead of providing a new set of Black Garden themed armor, which we previously saw in the Shadowkeep ViDoc.
Not TL;DR:
Earlier this day, this post revealed the new Exotic trace rifle, Divinity. OP pointed out that it is found in the raid collection, meaning the armor that is found along side it, is the raid armor set for the hunter from the Garden of Salvation raid.
The issue with that being, that the armor is basically a reskin of the Curse of Osiris Omega Mechanos Eververse armor set.
Now, where is the issue with that, I hear you ask? Well, the issue is that we had a preview as to what the Garden of Salvation raid armor initially could have been, as it was seen in the first Shadowkeep ViDoc.
Now, why this is upsetting, I hear you ask? Well, this is upsetting, because the armor we could have gotten as a raid reward, was moved into the monetization section of the game, namely, the Season of the Undying universal ornaments.
If you compare those 2 sets, you can see that they're basically identical, with model changes made to the hunter and titan helmet, plus the texture changes to account for the Black Garden theme.
This change in the aesthetic of a previously leaked armor, with an obvious black garden theme, with the Season of the Undying not being centered around the black garden, with the Season of the Undying universal armor set looking just like the previously leaked armor that was hypothesized to be the Garden of Salvation raid armor, while the actual Garden of Salvation raid armor is a reskin, makes it look like that they decided to use the better-looking armor set as an incentive for their monetizations, after changing it up a bit to fit the Season of the Undying theme more appropriately.
This is quite the bummer because getting the Black Garden themed Vex armor would have felt like a thing we asked for years to return to D2, where we basically scavenge the enemies we defeat for their stuff and use it for ourselves and with that in mind, I'm looking way less forward to playing the raid, now that I know that the armor it will reward is just reskins with glows slapped onto them.
Now, what can we do about it? Well, we can provide constructive and respectful feedback and hope the devs see that we're not pleased with the decision to axe the supposed raid armor to use it as bait for people to buy into the Season of the Undying.
What do you think of this whole situation, let's give your feedback down below.
It seems all the ideas, all the innovation, all the quality, all the quality control, all the inspriration, all the passion, all the fun exciting engaging gameplay, ended once the current Bungo ran out of content that had been envisaged, planned and designed by the old(er) Bungo ie the people who conceived Destiny. Who'd have thought lol!

Thank you for the update, you are respected for this post. MISSION COMPLETE! $0 RESPECT+

Reading between the lines of The Director's Cut it sounds like morale at Bungie is at an all time low. Without Activision and the support of other studios they are feeling the pressure of keeping Destiny afloat but Instead of making a big statement they are pumping out reskins of things from 5 years ago. I can't believe they put up such a big fight to keep the Destiny IP when they had no plans for it other than selling us things we've already had. If you you are unhappy with the direction of the series, now would be the time to stop paying and stop playing. Bungie has shown it's hand and it's all cash grab from here, reskins and heavy investment in Eververse until D3, a year from now which likely will be the same. If you continue knowing this then you can't complain just accept it for what it is.

3 AntwortenGiven armour 2.0 why do people care so much about this? Get the raid armour for the perks then use the ornaments to make yourself look good. I've never been a fan of how the the raid gears look, I only wear them for the enhanced perks.

New raid weapons coming with Shadowkeep looking fresh though 👀

Then dont play...

Reskins of any sort as loot is absolutely awful and a complete waste of time. I’ve never once been excited having a reskinned piece of armor drop. It’s just lazy.
-
4 AntwortenIm not defending bungie but you dont know if thats the raid gear.
-
I don’t mind gear staying in game being rotated around a little (d1 did this with the vendor gear) but I always hope that new things could and should come along
-
Rather them had reskin d1 vault gear
-
for what i see, bungie reskinned the helmet's but for other part's not
-
I need a re skin.
-
1 AntwortenFYI the re skins will just be Titan and Warlock armor. Hunters will get a unique and fresh set.
-
3 AntwortenI’ve had zero issues with the way bungie handles micro transactions. Idk it’s just cosmetic stuff an I wrong?
-
2 AntwortenEspecially when they were taking more time to make things good, I.E dodging Borderlands 3 release date.

Bearbeitet von Carbiniz3r: 9/1/2019 8:06:56 AMWell you see contrary to what people say about pre orders, Its always best to actually pre order and then cancel once you hear about this shit, makes them see it was guaranteed money until this decision was made.

11 AntwortenBearbeitet von KitsuneSonow: 9/1/2019 3:41:34 AMMan all those people that blamed Activision for all the faults and monetization of this game must be taking a big ol' bite of humble pie....either that or still blatantly defending the garbage decisions made by Bungie...like always....
-
1 AntwortenTruth is the gaming industry is a bunch of greedy POS and sadly we are the ones contributing to it.
-
As a community how do you accept this? How do people still think bungie respect you or your time? Over 2 years and venders sell The same shit. Dlc with minimal content and EVEN THAT is 80% reskins. Disappearing content, battle pass, pay to skip, and now raid loot (which is supposed to be the best loot in the game) is 100% reskins WHILE the actual raid themed gear is locked behind a cash shop. The disrespect is so blatant.
-
7 AntwortenI think... people like me give constant feedback about Eververse and now the battlepass in hopes that others will join and we can shut this monetization shit down. This thing you’re pointing out is the tip of the shit iceberg. However, when I post feedback I get little support and I just get endless shit. I borderline get harassed. So, I guess just deal with it. A vast majority of people either support this or just don’t care because “this is just how gaming is now.” Plus now that people will drop hundreds of dollars on seasonal ranks for some reason, it really won’t matter that Bungie won’t get my $10 per season.
-
5 AntwortenRaid armor or not, the fact that they’re still recycling armor is disappointment enough, but it’s a sad reality of Destiny in its current state.
-
4 AntwortenI agree, out of all the loot in Destiny raid gear should be the most original and unique. It should be this badge of honor in a way, where nothing else compares to it
-
This is too far, Bungie. I recall what you said that Tess isn’t supposed to be the endgame, and yet here you are, giving us stuff we already have for the raid and putting nice new gear in Tess’ inventory. Ridiculous.

1 AntwortenI don't know how to feel. This is a whole new raid (bigger than a raid lair, but smaller than the Last Wish) and I really expected to get some new looking armor that's at least Vex related. In addition, I was expecting some NEW Vex armor. But I'm not sure how you expand on the armor that relates to the Vex. In d1, the Vex armor was pretty clean. It had that distinctive "red-eye glows" for the helmet and that "robot" feel for the rest of the armor. In Age of Triumph, imagine those armor sets but dialed up to 11, giving more detailed features that the Vex have. The relatively newer set (Curse of Osiris set from Eververse) showcases a mixture from the ornaments in AoT, OG VoG, and added a newer, but unnoticeable, touch. But overall, the Vex armor looks the same. I'm not sure how they're gonna give us some new looking armor without making it look like a reskin. Then again, I'd like Bungie to at least TRY to come up with something new instead of pulling something from Eververse. This is like 60 dollars I'm spending, so it's not crazy to ask for something original. I'm still hoping that this armor isn't the raid armor.
