Hey all,
We have protections in place where AFK players should not receive rewards if sitting idle for too long, and will be removed from matches/MM as well.
I'll pass this feedback along to see if we can add additional protections, as AFK players negatively impact the experience for everyone else in the lobby.

Your protection is laughable at best against the mighty rubber band. Idle you say? I laugh at thee! 1 band and im an afk ballerina. Dancing on your protection, laughing while i watch TV or fold laundry. Both better than 10 straight gambit matches. 2 bands and im a firework. Twirling and spraying purple bullets from my gun at the heavens. Still laughing mind you. Apologies to randos looking for a W. You won't find it here. Don't hate me randos. I didn't make the requirements or the rules. I just play how I see fit when given these grindy chores. Until the next new shiny loot drops with its choreful steps I'll put up my hero and you're bane. The mighty rubber band. His name is choncho.

There might be a problem with strikes where they won't start unless everyone gets off the spawn point.
-
When Bungie get around to designing quests that don’t require (x) amount of tedious grind doing activities you’ve done (y) countless times you’ll get less AFKers.
-
Lol Gambit sucks don’t have to afk just sit by the invade Portal and shoot in the air , take a few steps here and there technically not afk but who cares about winning or loot so old it was probably forged in the Big Bang Lmao
-
Hating on Gambit is becoming a meme. It can be fun with friends.
-
It’s sad most people wouldn’t mind playing Gambit , if they updated the loot every content drop . New gear sets , gun models , but Bungie is lazy and does nothing . It’s just play gambit for a power upgrade once a week every loot drop will be a year old but whatever lol

Your protections don't work, especially on PC. On console you can rubberband your controller and on PC you can just straight up use a bot. The best thing to do is either 1) Make requirements more engaging i.e. complete Gambit matches with 80 kills or more 2) Pay more attention to player reports

Quest Steps like "Do 10 of a certain game type' with absolutely no performance aspect are poorly designed and tedious. As an example of something similar but better, how about "Complete 10 Strikes with 20 or more kills with 3 different weapon types" ...

Bearbeitet von TimeSplitter510: 8/28/2019 2:30:58 AMAs a bonus have the kills count out on screen as you go for instant feeback endorphins maybe even "20 kills with at least 3 different weapon types - death resets progress"?
-
They are everywhere on pc. People are running bots to jump and shoot to stay in the match. Look at game history. You'll see players with tons of matches and no kills
-
Still avoiding the root cause. Terrible quests.
-
The root cause is the free rider syndrome- in fact this whole experience is a case study in the extent of (many) people's selfishness
-
No, and design. Pve game should have pve steps that do not impact others.
-
People are choosing to game the system for a "reward" (that they don't even need in the great of scheme of things) and they want others to bear the brunt of their selfishness to get: free rider personified. The easy solution? Go play something else that's actually entertaining.
-
pve. Better to throw the .watch. gambit sucks.
-
Yes, yes they certainly are. Stubborn arrogance is what they excel in.
-
Make fun quests steps?
-
here's an idea. If a player isn't dealing any damage for 5 minutes, give them a "Turn back" style of message where they have to shoot SOMETHING in the span of 30 seconds before they are kicked out of the match and matchmaking. This will mean the only way someone can consistently farm is if they use an autoclicker aimbot, which judging by your help forums, you are already really good at detecting.
-
It's always going to be an issue when you have requirements for X completions of an activity. Take solstice for example. 10 match completions practically guarantees afkers, particularly on PC. I saw that a lot. The gambit requirement would have been better served by getting, say, 400 points from kills where regular combatants were 1 point, HVTs were 5 and other guardians 10. It would still twist gameplay a bit but definitely to a lesser degree than wins or completions does.
-
"If sitting idle too long" is likely an issue with the detection systems. Repeatable PC Macros don't have players idling. The walk, jump, turn, shoot, use abilities. That is the challenging problem that seems to still need a better solution.
-
Dude above had a good idea. If you haven't gotten a kill in 5 min you get a 30 second warning before being kicked out of mm
-
Report for using bots
-
No bungie, incentivise people to do what they enjoy. Your being illogical
-
How about you guys stop making people do things they dislike? Maybe there would be less AFK?
-
So.... Remove the dredgen title?
