New annual pass is complicated.

I don't understand how this work?
If I pay for dlc I want access all the time.
Edit if they want take out things. Take out the red war, curse of Osiris, warmind story. They going to get a lot space but ohh they give for free to get more people (!). Because new people is more important.
I don't have problem to give for free, really don't care but take out new events after 3 months.
If they have problems with space just do not make annual pass. Start working on D3.

Not dlc It’s a $10 fee to access some content for 3 months that no one can ever do after that Thing how factions in D2 are something is old players did It’s like that exept $10 and with actual content

1 AntwortenMakes me worried, reminds me of Season of the Drifter. If you don't like that seasons focus/activity then you're out of luck and don't play or are forced to play stuff you hate. I actually like all of the possible ways to get powerful gear available now, don't like Crucible then do Dreaming City stuff. In fact I say the more ways the better, gives me the option to play what I want. If you want to get Max power then do everything but I don't have to do anything I don't want to do now because of all the freedom.

We get one set of rewards and they are going to copy and paste them from one season to the next the whole year.

2 AntwortenI am all for this new change. Once players play the newest content they don't want to go back and grind the same stuff. It literally took ages to find a group for reckoning 3. Having separate seasons fills in the gap better and provides a more unified experience going forward. The only people that I believe have a problem with It are the hoarders and the entitled that feel they own the content. No they own the license to play... literally almost every game ends it's dlc and moves on to the next why should this game be any different.

im fine but the loot needs to be unobtainable after the event if they decide to do this. Why are you rewarding people for not buying the pass and not playing what costed us time to learn and grind for? just for it to be handed out months later

3 Antwortenyou're paying 10 bucks to play 3 months worth of shit. i think youll be ok. and i highly doubt theyre going to be removing things like raids or strikes or core pieces of content. they're much more likely to see things like alterations to previous content be made, and in the next season that content changes again. for example, the moon is being added with Shadowkeep, but then in the future, the moon may see another shift from being what it is in Shadowkeep to seeing new enemies and new activities appear, while the old patrols and public events go away after we eliminate the threat. it's like when WoW had the cataclysm. did people complain that old 1k Needles zone content left and was scarred by the cataclysm? not really. You can update old planets by adding new things to it, but in the process you may have to take old things away. like devrim's church may be destroyed. are you gonna complain that the church is gone and something new is there in its place? probably not. so relax.

25 AntwortenI'm worried about it not being a technical decision in the end. Yes it might be for d2, but when he expresses that the whole living world thing is why, I feel on edge. Don't forget it's a game too. Really don't want to feel like I'm buying time-limited content. This FOMO shit is getting out of hand.

2 AntwortenI don't mind they remove content. It's like SRL. Comes and goes. Halloween event, comes and goes. Makes you want to play the content while you can. I just hope it isn't grindy and there is a bunch of dumb shit to do like kill 10000 enemies on titan, drive your sparrow 8000 planetary miles, collect shards by the truck loads. ect ect ect. This takes away from playing.

Storage isnt an issue, digital version of the game plus ALL current dlc is only 90gb. Edit: I was wrong, current file size is 82gb. Call of duty hits 110-130gb at the end of every year and the division 2 was 80gb at launch.

Bungo didn't like that and decided to create a system that would screw over anyone who wouldn't impulsively purchase something they didnt understand or even have any real knowledge of what it was they were buying.

11 AntwortenYou’re not gonna be paying for permanent dlc you will be paying for seasonal content that runs alongside free to play seasons. There is not enough memory on consoles for destiny to continue to expand without dropping certain content. This change also adds value to any items that belong to a content drop as it will hold more value. The game is no longer rewarding casuals with easy routes to items. Why would you pay for content and not play it, miss out on the rewards and then complain you can’t get the rewards because you didn’t play the content 👍🤦♂️😂🤷♂️

If they want to go down that road shadow keep should be free and then charge us for a season pass or charge us for shadow keep and let us have new timed content for free. Why should the loyal player base have to keep on paying and newbies get the base game and free content, are they trying to lose more of thier player base.

Feels like everything else in this game, it feels like it's about money. I could be wrong but I don't think I am. Most of their bad decisions have been about money.

They are using the space issue because they have poor compression optimization, talentless employees, and incredibly inept leadership (not surprising Luke Smith was a blogger and a podcaster with Zero background in IT/programming/design/game design, this is the Peter Principle its amazing to see it so vividly). It will be interesting to see how this "F2P" model blows up in their face. They dont have a daddy to pour money into them and try to restore profitability. Bad decisions can turn into terminal decline without a publisher support. If you read activisions statement about the state of D2, they basically said their investment of THEIR resources wasn't paying off and that the debt to profit ratio was too high. This gives us a good indication that the revenue that Bungie is generating is not enough to sustain development. This would explain why they want to do Paid Temp DLCs. Scarcity ensures purchases and would allow them to do low quality DLCs with fat margins. In otherwords, temp dlcs to make the money and Expansions to get new players. Will this work? We need to see how many people buy Shadowkeep. If shadowkeep only sells say 500k accroas all platforms then Bungie will be in very very bad shape. This can be seen with Forsaken. It only sold 60% of its playerbase. In other words it retained only 60% of its player base as other players either left or are not spending money in the game. The straights that Bungie is in is terrible because again they have no Daddy to give them money if they dont hit budget.
