Would they be in a better place if made into Special weapons and Heavy weapons?
Some tuning would have to be made to make them a bit less "forgiving" (less aim assist for example).
Faster bows might be more viable as a Special to allow them OHK headshots (within range limits to not step on snipers too much).
Slower, heavy bows could be replaced as Heavies with (maybe?) OHK body shots - again within range limits.
They aren't a bad weapon, but against skilled opponents it can be hard to impossible to finish a foe before they step into cover.
An alternative would be to give them Legolas-level draw speed, but that comes with its own implications. Perhaps with a greater focus on a well-timed release?
Anyone have thoughts on the weapon?

2 AntwortenAs a Pro bow user.. I would say no...the heavy bow is the wish-ender bungie does not know how to tweek anything. They are fine where they are and i dont want a bow that has 2 arrows in it thats stupid.

3 AntwortenBows are really good weapons. You could argue that they are the most balanced weapons in Destiny 2. There is no need for any buffs or nerfs. Sure, Trinity Ghoul needs some help but that's an exotic that needs to be tweaked.

As a bow main, I personally do not want bows changed. I’d be ok if the aim assist was lowered a bit, I’m not a fan of aim assist, but other than that I think the damage output is perfectly fine. We don’t need 1 hit kill bows. Maybe a heavy bow could be a 1 hit to the body *if* you fully charge it which would take a bit. I’d be ok with that. But there needs to be a balance. Bows should not normally OHK because it impedes on snipers as well as shotguns.

2 Antwortenbows are perfect the way they are in my opinion. they have their own play style which if taken the time to master can be very powerful. they excel in team play and combination play and should be considered primers/finishers much like tube grenade launchers. i wouldn't like to see them changed.

2 AntwortenAll bows should have archers tempo as a passive perk, they should all have the ability to follow up shots as long as the player is skilled enough to land headshots. Bows like wish ender has such a huge draw time but doesn’t one shot, I would turn the bow into special ammo and increase draw time just a little more and allow it to one shot. The reason it would need a nerf to its draw time is because it can already see through walls however it will not have the power to one shot players. We have snipers that one shot so it makes no sense wish ender cant do it too especially with its already large draw time

1 AntwortenA heavy bow is already being composed for Shadowkeep. Bows are very tricky to balance right now. Their draw time and projectile travel time is what is keeping them balanced. Very skilled bow users are difficult to fight as going into an open gunfight will most likely end in their deaths. Too weak and they become a nerfed Nova Warp-like situation where it becomes a punishment to use. Too strong and---well, they can make other weapon archetypes obsolete.

1 AntwortenBows are perfect where they're at a ohk heavy body shot bow is way too op. And a bad idea unless body shots are only capable short to medium range and heavy bows have less handling than other bows.

4 AntwortenThey’re in a tricky spot, any buff and they become OP, and nerf and they become useless. I’d personally like to see draw speeds taken down by just a little bit. Not much, but instead of a 760, maybe 720 or 700 draw speed for compound bows.
