Is there a way to counter being dos’d, I have gotten fully dos’d 2 times today playing gambit. Who cheats to win gambit? Crazy

I've been Ddosed once on console and once on PC The console one was my own teammate. I dodged a bullet on that one. And the other one was a few months back. The enemy team was destroying us and still had the audacity to boot us offline, one by one.

You can look into something like tunnelbear.com for a VPN service, but it's a waste of money considering dos attacks don't happen that often. Never happened to me that I'm aware of in over 2000 hours of D2. Or anyone that I know personally.

1 AntwortenI think I was DDoSed once. Im on Xbox and was playing crucible one morning a while back. I was in the matchmaking queue, and around when when the players were gathered and our ships were flying to start the match, i get kicked and got a message that a network connection could not be found. Well, I happened to be working from home this day and was playing and working on and off. I thought nothing of it, I just turned my Xbox off and went right back to work, until I realized my entire home network was down and trying to reboot. Was down for about an hour or so. IDK if this was a DDoS but who knows. Felt like it.

How long exactly was your home network completely out for? FYI, you can’t counter a DOS attack unless you can block pretty much any and all input to your router (turning off the internet).
Denial Of Service attacks knock out a network for a considerable amount of time. It would not allow you to get an error code and continue to play the game, as your network would be down and you’d have no internet connection. DOS attacks are also highly illegal, and it’s unlikely you actually received one. If you have recorded proof of what happened you can use Bungie’s report tool (Cheating Submission Form) to report the team in question - but please think carefully and be certain you did indeed receive a DOS attack first, to prevent wasting your time and the time of the report handlers, as well as false reporting other players. Have you looked up the error code on help.bungie.net and taken the steps it outlines to fix the issue? What are your upload/download speeds? What is your latency? (On your device you play Destiny on?)
3 AntwortenAll you can do to counter it is to get a VPN.
