How does one improve in PvP...?
Where is the playlist where I can verse people of similar (and SLIGHTLY) better skill-levels?
I keep getting -blam!-ed in Quickplay, like absolutely DESTROYED. I hear Quickplay is "working as intended" because sweatlords need a place to "kick back and not try so hard" (which aparently means dropping 50+ bombs at my and my kinds (blueberries) expense. Really relaxing for all uf us I tell ya. Having a GREAT TIME being your -blam!-ing punching bag.
So then I hear the Competative playlist offers SKILLBASED matchmaking, so I go try that, obviously thinking I'll have games that are even. WRONG. DEAD WRONG.
I get to 608 Glory Rank (Whooo, yeah I'm THAT BAD, sue me)... and what do I meet? Not Forgotten, a pinacle weapon awarded for reaching Legend. THE TOP TEIR OF COMPETATIVE!!!
What's the "competative" part of having one of the worst D2 players facing off against a team of NF weilding Sweatlords....? Who's entertained by that?
How am I supposed to improve my gameplay against that, it's impossible to keep up.
If I'm trying to excell at math while still on the level of 1+1 being clunky and unintuitive, it's not gonna be fun for anyone if my peers are at the level of solving heat equations with neumann boundary conditions (google it if cunfused) AND WE ARE IN THE SAME -blam!-ING CLASSROOM!!
GIVE ME A PLAYLIST WHERE MATCHMAKING PRIORITIZES SKILLBASE PRIMARILY, CONNECTION SECONDARILY!
What is your experience with matchmaking? Do you think its Great or terrible?

Bearbeitet von EtherealKnight: 7/1/2019 8:52:25 PMI mean you talked about meeting not forgotten at 608 but I purposely didnt grind competitive this season so your gonna complain because I'm unbroken and I have nf but I'm st the same glory as you and we matched together ? (I didnt match you just putting a point across) your obviously gonna get that stuff here and there like the difference is vastly different login to a account that's in legend then play q few games on that account I gurantee you'll change your mind Edit : I purposely didnt grind competitive to help my friend get his recluse and we 2 manned to fabled so why is it wrong that both of us at the same glory match up it resets every season and after doing everything theres no reason to hit legend so your bound to find skilled players that just havent touched comp

8 AntwortenStay out of pvp don't even play it instead go play ur strikes and raids but don't ever dare to step into pvp and complain about it again.Us pvp players like how pvp is right now leave it alone ur not a pvp player if ur getting "Destroyed" at 600 points comp lol that's pathetic. It's because ppl like u that complain about everything shut upppp already it's because of ppl like u that we are all forced to play around ur nerfs or buffs stop complaining about everything in pvp. Quickplay is chill if ur dying quickplay a lot well dude ur trash bungie can't fixed that. Go back to ur strikes and stay there.

Bearbeitet von ETERNAL: 7/1/2019 8:34:45 PMTry private matches with your buddies if the crucible stresses you.

Well it was 2 trash teams in a row spamming their supers with super mods and running away from every 1 on 1 encounter to team shoot with their friends. Sorry am i in year 1? That aside d2 almost got the broken disc treatment.

A lot of people dont know this but all you have to do is
believe in yourself gaurdian

bet you thought i was gonna say git gud
2 AntwortenHere’s a tip, it may be toxic but hey it’s a tip. Sweat yourself till ya can’t no more, and if you’re not a decent level just don’t play comp, it ruins the experience for the rest of your team.

I’ve been having a blast with Lockdown this week. For the first time in a long time, I might jump on just to play Crucible. I usually do not mess with PvP except for Iron Banner. In fact, I’d say that I haven’t really enjoyed PvP (with the exception of Crimson Days) in years. I think that Quick Play is that exact problem. You need relatively little tactical skill to excel. While I often go up against better players and teams in Lockdown, I find that I am still winning matches because these “Top Tier Players” are so focused on getting kills to buff their KDA that they completely neglect the objective. They pay little regard to their surroundings and honestly just crutch certain weapons. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t begrudge them for using whatever weapons you like. But I’m far from the best player out there, and I’m still winning games in Solo queue with Suros Regime (grinding kills for the catalyst). The change in game mode has also shown me how many poor tactical decisions I tend to make...I’ve seen Star Wars multiple times and I still never take the high ground thing seriously. I also tend to blind turn corners into kill boxes with no escape plan. Point is, try switching it up and just playing for fun. Skill will come with time.

Uh duuhhhhh? Its destiny pvp It's always been terrible

Just stay out of competitive. I've had some very even matches in Quickplay and some very uneven matches, and have been on both sides. They only way to improve in Quickplay, is well, by playing the game. Of course, many folks don't have the time to sit there, playing for hours, and will never get better.

10 AntwortenAll these posts can be summarized into "I am worse then i thought and shouldn't match people that are better so I don't have to face that" No, you play everyone equally. No "oh you bought the game? Heres your 1.0 now youre just as good as everyone else" Even kids on fortnite accept they'll sometimes match streamers and I don't see them crying about it - just the opposite actually....so the kids on fort are more mature then y'all babies here, let that sink in. Welcome to shooters i guess? Cod, halo, battelfront, hell every fps game ive ever played matches all tiers of players together in anything but the comp playlist. Why on earth would you be entitled to separate treatment because you get run over by average players?? Sink or swim, enough catering to crybabies mad that pvp doesnt play as easy as pve for them.

Matchmaking is a rubbish man. Doesn't pair you with people of your skill level half the time and then it fills teams before moving onto the next one so things can end up as a 2 v 4 for example. I have had a bad experience with it today. Some days it ain't to bad.

1 AntwortenStop complaining, and get good instead.

7 AntwortenQuestion: How are you going to get better by ppl playing on the same skill level as you? Answer: You don’t.

Bearbeitet von FdYAcsoyPKN83gLE: 7/1/2019 6:56:42 PMIf someone leaves a competitive match, it should be cancelled and everyone except the leaver should not be punished. This simple fix is so easy/necessary to include that Bungie thinks it's somehow cheating.

1 AntwortenDo what the rest of us do. Don’t go into pvp except during Iron Banner. It’s the only time the population is high enough to give you a chance to match up against players of your own level.
-
Here’s the thing- the best pvp players are in a small group at the top. There are far more inexperienced or unskilled players but they barely play crucible. The sweatlords play 8 hours a day at least so you are going to run into them often even though there are a handful of them. My best advice to you is pay attention while your getting your butt kicked and maybe you will get a little better.

6 AntwortenBearbeitet von lCHARLIEoMOPPSl: 7/1/2019 12:01:44 PMWe need a playlist of fun modes like Halo used to have with Griffball and Infection and Oddball and Regicide etc

I said this (SBMM has to return) earlier and everyone called me a madman. Now someone else say it and a majority agrees... Does it only look like so or are there people just basically downvoting my post for fun, even if I'm correct? 😂

In Comp, I have never been as high as heroic let alone Legend, but if you are talking about matchmaking, how about me (a very, very sub-average player) gets matched up against an extremely well known top streamer and his buddies rocking a pinnacle loadout, who then proceeds to destroy me and then tea-bag me. Not crying, but what incentive is there to improve in comp.
-
I just want more maps suited for 6v6...
-
1 AntwortenJust stay out of crucible. It's not that hard
-
2 AntwortenQuick play is not a great experience in general right now, because: -12 people on 8 person maps -roaming stacks of sweats actively looking to stomp -basically no skill component in matchmaking You'll face stacks of really good or meta-using teams all the time, and they are actively trying to mercy or dominate you. When you can just play every game as clash, squad up in kill-teams and roll over everything in your way, why not? Free wins and Valor. Comp, while not perfect, has the right amount of people of most maps, forces objective game play more, and requires you to either get better or stay where you are. I solo-ground Luna and Recluse last season: I learned so much about being a better player and what I was doing wrong. The catch? You have to stick with it, and you have to stop worrying about the other team. Yeah, there will be stacks. Yeah, there will be NF, Recluse, Mountaintop, etc. all of those weapons have hard and soft counters (toss on Jade Rabbit and go all lane control, see how useless Not Forgotten becomes). Just focus on you, your life, and analyzing what you did well, and what you messed up. Again, -stop getting mad or worrying about other players-, focus on you and your play. If you're honest and admit to yourself where you screwed up and paid for it, and humble by not assuming you're a god when things go well, you can improve and learn a massive amount. Just don't get discouraged. Best of luck.

*reads title* Is it the Crucible? Or is it... *activates 420BlazeIt, hide yo wife, hide yo kids maximum savage mode*
you?
I think it's fine, but I may fall slightly above average (in the actual meaning of the word 'slightly'). But yes, curious to see the changes they are making next season and onwards.

I like it because I'm good, but I wouldn't if I wasn't decent. It wouldn't be fun and I know how it feels to get destroyed. I'm sorry man
