How does one improve in PvP...?
Where is the playlist where I can verse people of similar (and SLIGHTLY) better skill-levels?
I keep getting -blam!-ed in Quickplay, like absolutely DESTROYED. I hear Quickplay is "working as intended" because sweatlords need a place to "kick back and not try so hard" (which aparently means dropping 50+ bombs at my and my kinds (blueberries) expense. Really relaxing for all uf us I tell ya. Having a GREAT TIME being your -blam!-ing punching bag.
So then I hear the Competative playlist offers SKILLBASED matchmaking, so I go try that, obviously thinking I'll have games that are even. WRONG. DEAD WRONG.
I get to 608 Glory Rank (Whooo, yeah I'm THAT BAD, sue me)... and what do I meet? Not Forgotten, a pinacle weapon awarded for reaching Legend. THE TOP TEIR OF COMPETATIVE!!!
What's the "competative" part of having one of the worst D2 players facing off against a team of NF weilding Sweatlords....? Who's entertained by that?
How am I supposed to improve my gameplay against that, it's impossible to keep up.
If I'm trying to excell at math while still on the level of 1+1 being clunky and unintuitive, it's not gonna be fun for anyone if my peers are at the level of solving heat equations with neumann boundary conditions (google it if cunfused) AND WE ARE IN THE SAME -blam!-ING CLASSROOM!!
GIVE ME A PLAYLIST WHERE MATCHMAKING PRIORITIZES SKILLBASE PRIMARILY, CONNECTION SECONDARILY!
What is your experience with matchmaking? Do you think its Great or terrible?

#cruciblesucksrant. Lol

3 AntwortenYou can always go into a private match by yourself and run around the map pretending to get kills
-
2 AntwortenIdk man, would probably take the game 15 minutes to match people with you if you truly are as bad as you say. Then you might be right back on here saying it takes too long to find a game.

2 AntwortenRumble, crouch near a wall by a high-traffic area, Main Ingredient. You’re welcome. Most people are not great in pvp and will run headlong into a voop.

From what I’ve seen comp playlist matches you with people of your skill until you hit heroic rank and then you get slammed by people that are way higher in rank than you.

I’d rather get killed by some kid with a decent connection than some dude streaming Netflix while connected to WiFi and lagging all match at the top of the leader boards

Some people are cannons. Most are cannon fodder.

6 AntwortenI think there are so much weapons, armour perks and ability that Destiny 2 can't be balanced. Take Overwatch, if just two McCree face each others, their fight will be balanced, their guns will have the same range, dps, aim assist... In Destiny 2 two people fighting each others with The Last Word may be really unbalanced. Even if they belong to the same class, one may have an armour that give bonuses to revolver and the other may have no bonuses. People with the same weapons may not do the same things when pressing the trigger. So imagine people of different classes, different armours, weapons fighting each others... If you also take in considation the lag issues, the fact that a great part of the community use meta weapons by lack of creativity or refuse to get reckt over and over. That people who dislike PVP no longer play it, reducing the PVP population to the sweaters. The PVP itself is pretty bad. The opportunity to have real gunfight are low. Most of the time it's you against someone with heavy ammo, supers, slide shotgun, respawn VS supers, respawn VS heavy ammo, respawn VS 4 dudes... PVP should be more casual and relaxed. Lack of balance, lag issues, toxic community and many other problems can not justify the importance the PVP has in the game. There should not have any weapons as powerful as LH/NF, Recluse, The Last Word or any other rewards associated with PVP.

1 AntwortenMy biggest issue with comp PvP is that if there are people who leave the match or if I enter a match down a player from the beginning, IM PUNISHED for it. They need to correct that. It is not fair.

2 AntwortenThe main problem with the Crucible is the way the rewards are given - you have to always win and be the best to have any chance. And because of that a lot of the more casual people decided to leave because they are simply not that good or don't have enough time. In Destiny 1 the only place where the rewards depended on skill was Trials. And with the Iron banner exp. they even gave the trials weapons with normal crucible bounties - that way everybody was happy. The sweaties had someone to shoot at and the casual players get beaten but still got the good weapons. I'm not sure why Bungie decided to make Crucible such a mess now. It is even worst now than the Trials time since on Trials it was way easier to get flawless /based on luck if you play on times when the sweaties sleep/ than to get Not Forgotten or even Luna. Actually after i understood that i will never be able to get Not forgotten i stopped playing - especially when Bungie don't take any actions against the paid carries :( I'm not sure what will happen in the future but i still have hope in Bungie because with the latest news they prove that they listen. And let us be clear about one thing - the game is exceptional. The only other game that may take the crown in the future is Halo but even that is not so sure.

I feel your pain. Hadn't played in a long time. Went in to get my hand cannon and void energy kills to finish thorn quest. Got totally wrecked by beloved sniper campers and multiple supers in a 5 stack. And geez I wish they would get rid of heavy ammo at the start of a match. It's just blam- dumb. I very rarely pick it up because I just don't unless to keep the other team from getting it. But heavy available when you load in is just messed up. Wish we could get a mode for only primary and secondarys with heavy slot locked. Been saying this for like forever. Oh well, will try again. I just suck at pvp and really suck when I am rusty.

2 AntwortenI’m in fabled 2, not a terrible player maybe a little above average but I will never make it to legend solo. It just feels impossible at this point. I’m trying to get the not forgotten but I keep getting wrecked by people who are using it and the recluse lol. I’d happily take a carry at this point just to get not forgotten and never play competitive again, but I don’t think I can keep going solo anymore just too many 4 stacks and too many variables

I’m on the final grind for Luna’s and it’s been a nightmare and I like PvP. I get to 1k solo and then fall back to 600. I’ve found a couple groups and we’ll go on a streak then lose a game and a couple guys will panic and bail. Sooooo how are people doing this? Are there any clans out there that love this? I’ll join if that’s the case.

2 AntwortenWhat about skill based matchmaking based on overall pvp performance in quickplay and iron banner? Fireteams get matched based on their highest ranked player. Fun is close games where everyone can contribute and have tight battles. Fun doesn't happen with unbalanced teams or one player dominating the round. I'd stay out of comp for now because some of the Legends of last season are still climbing up.

1 AntwortenThe matchmaking for comp is so bad it's laughable. I can't count the number of 4 stacks that I have been put against going in solo. Doesn't help that you have 4 stacks just canceling their launch if they have to face up against another team. Yeah, they fixed the glory system a tad, but it doesn't matter when you go in solo and match 4 stacks (or even get a group of solos on your team and they match make two groups of two on the other side-wtf bungo). Get anywhere close to Fabled? Here's team recluse to put you back in the trashcan where you belong. RNG matchmaking simulator 2019. I have better exotic RNG than this.

To be honest the pinnacle rewards are just trump cards "high tier" players use because they are too lazy to learn how to use other weapons that are potentially better. And think you are better than those Sweatlords because you're taking time in learning how to adapt to better gear and you are taking the time in learning the actually game instead of just point and shoot with a -blam!- smg. I'm not saying they are all like this but most people who have those guns payed people to get it for them, or they sat in their room mostly ignoring everything around them until they got the reward in the end. Think about it everyone in the forums probably watch the same streamers and those streamers help carry for the gun, so the people who "got" the pinnacle actually found it as a way to brag to their friends saying they got to play with this guy and this guy.

No dedicated servers makes it unplayable. The host will always always have an advantage. And with the lag switchers still rampant it's even worse.

20 AntwortenBearbeitet von Wes: 7/1/2019 1:07:02 PMThe problem isn't SBMM. I promise. People don't want SBMM. It lacks "hero moments" and just those moments that make someone sit back and say, "Holy crap. I actually did that." The problem is Bungie hasn't protected the casual/solo player in the Crucible up until this point. A solo player shouldn't match up against a 6 stack all with NF in IB, unless his stats are far above average. That guy that plays Crucible once a week shouldn't be in that match. Yes, SBMM might address this problem, but matchmaking based on connection and team size would as well. That would also affect more people in a positive manner than SBMM would. Above average players suffer when SBMM is active and below average players suffer when it isn't. Neither should have to suffer. However, we can all agree that stacked teams dominate both systems. So, maybe the middle ground is introducing team based matchmaking. You ever got to LFG during IB week? You'll see countless posts along the lines of "IB Mercy Farm 2.0+ K/D" and not a single person in that team using anything off meta or creative. They're there for the stat farm and easy wins. Aren't even friends. Literally met that morning. Problem is ANYONE can match those groups. I mean, if friends want to play with friends, fine. Don't punish them. But if players want to deliberately go out of their way to get a sweaty 6 stack going to farm people, they need to be ONLY put up against teams doing the same thing. This punishes the solo and casual players, making them leave. Now we're stuck with teams like those mentioned above.

3 AntwortenIf you want to hang with sweatlords, you have to put practice in. - Play with weapons that your comfortable with. If you suck at hand cannons, try pulse rifles or scouts. I dont think auto rifles are a viable choice in this meta although there are some that will work - Check what weapons and perks your getting wrecked by. Check what loadout keeps wrecking you. Maybe you can incorporate the same into your loadout. - Last but not least, which some YouTube videos on how to improve and which weapons are good to used in pvp. There are alot of great d2 youtubers that give great in-depth info on weapons, crucible and how to improve yourself. Check out aztecross and CoolGuy both these youtubers make great crucible vids

It’s almost depressing how many steamrolls I’ve seen in this game.
-
99% of not forgottens you see were paid for. They didn’t actually earn it by being good.

6 AntwortenCrucible is pretty toxic too. Recently, I've been trying to complete the quest for the Mountaintop so I've been running three grenade launchers (Militia's, Fighting Lion and Play of the Game). As someone who is admittedly terrible with grenade launchers (because I never chose to use them), I often times play pretty terribly. What gets me is when someone kills me with (NF, Lunas, Bygones, Recluse, etc) then they come over and tbag me like they are the best player in the game or something. I'm just like...really? You see what torture I'm putting myself through bro? I feel you tho. Quickplay is not an enjoyable experience. Most of crucible isn't. Not like it could be in D1. Idk how they'll address that. Or if they ever will. All we can hope is that the upcoming changes will bring more players to the crucible so they dilute the sweatlord pool that currently dominates it.

2 AntwortenIts horrible no doubt. I have the occasional good game. Where I have fun. The best games are the close games. But of course, I always run into the meta. ANd I love metas! Theres nothing wrong with metas, just that they are prefered by the community. However, in destiny 2 the meta is overpowered. Thats wrong. I dont want to get butterflies in my stomach when I play comp. There no point in playing that part if I dont have fun. And by fun, I dont mean winning. I mean getting matched against people who are at my level.
