Three separate DLCs. Each with equivalent content to either The Dark Below or House of Wolves from Destiny 1... distributed between 3-month intervals for 30$. That was and still is a great deal.
With each of the DLCs having an absolute minimum of 15 hours of enjoyment, (without even factoring in replay-ability) it's a great deal.
Please try to change my mind, and I'll try my best to change yours.
EDIT1: Thank you for all of your passionate responses.
The main 2 points I've been seeing throughout this post are:
❏ I didn't like Season of the Drifter, therefore 20$ would've been fitting.
❏ No strikes/crucible maps/planets, therefore not worth it at all.
To the first point, that is truly the meaning of value being subjective. Albeit you and I might've not liked Season of the Drifter, that doesn't necessarily mean it wasn't worth 10$. However, there is a point to be made that you shouldn't be forced into buying one season's worth of content just to play another.
It might've been better as 10$ individual installments, I could agree with that.
To the second point- however. It wasn't advertised that you would receive any of those things. You knew exactly what you'd be getting upon buying it. Hence why I linked the advertisement above.
If you'd like to make the argument that explorable space or # of maps determine the value of a DLC- We'll refer back to the House of Wolves DLC.
For 20$ USD it had-
❏ 3 Crucible Maps
❏ 1 Strike
❏ New Social Space
❏ Trials of Osiris
❏ Prison of Elders
❏ 12 Exotics
❏ 9 New Legendary Gearsets
Now let's compare this to 2/3 of the Seasons in the Season Pass:
Season of the Drifter and the Black Armory
❏ 2 New Gambit Maps
❏ 4 Black Armory Forges
❏ New Raid (Scourge of the Past)
❏ Gambit Prime
❏ The Reckoning
❏ 6 Pinnacle Weapons
❏ 9 New Legendary Gearsets
❏ 14 Exotics
Now you can determine which one has more worth to you, but objectively the Annual Pass has more content than any of Destiny's predecessors in the 10-30$ range. Comparing CoO, Warmind, TDB would go even worse.
The comparison above doesn't even take into consideration the Menagerie which on it's own adds another--
❏ 6 New Gearsets
❏ New Raid (Crown of Sorrow)
❏ New Court of Oryx/PoE/EP-esk activity, the Menagerie
❏ 6-7 New Exotics
❏ 3 More Pinnacle Weapons
I understand some of you might value a new social space over a raid, but objectively a social space is easier to design than the entire layout for a raid in addition to a unique boss with lots of other unique mechanics as well.
I most likely won't be responding as frequently as before, as I'm seeing a lot of repetitive arguments. But thank you for commenting on here at all. I'm glad you all as a community have a passion to see this game thrive.
Last Edit:
"*Insert Season Here* was awful." with no follow-up or explanation is not a good argument! That is defined as an insult, and you are clearly NOT looking for a discussion.

I definitely complained through a lot of Black Armory and Gambit/ Reckoning but when it’s all said and done there is a crap ton of things to do. I think the activities will improve and that they are better for the game than just adding strikes and story missions. Season Pass gets two thumbs up from me now that I see the big picture.

Black armory: lots of nice weapons, fun af raid. Izanagi's Burden, The Last Word, and Jotunn are fun exotics (I don't have anarchy unfortunately). Joker's Wild: the weirdest season. Weapons were good, I guess not much for you unless you really love Gambit. Gameplay loop was really messy too, i feel like reckoning should have had it's own loot, separate fromthe gambit prime loot. Thorn's return was nice. Penumbra: Menagerie is fun! Weapons/armour aren't the coolest imo. Raid looks good, havent done it yet though. Truth is back, and Lumina/Rose sounds like an interesting inversion of Thorn. I'd say it's worth it. The price of games is becoming more vague what with the "games as a service" and game streaming becoming he norm.

I never trust things like this, consumers will more often than not try to justify their purchases anyway they can in order to avoid looking frivolous

1 AntwortenWell, with Black Armory the only replay value was the raid. So about $5, Season of the Drifter could've been a free update. Finally, Season of Opulence, as fun as it is, is still simply a raid lair and one new gamemode. It too could've been a free update or $5 at most.

Was worth my money when I paid 80. When forsaken came out. But this newest season kind of sucks.. atleast it 100 times better then the 75 i spend on anthem

bioware sucks more then Batista

-
Eh. They may have added a decent amount of things, but most is just uninspired filler, so it's debatable. Personally, I don't think it was. Just adding more horde modes and an ever so slightly altered Gambit mode isn't really all that interesting.

Bearbeitet von TotalDramaGamer: 6/27/2019 6:02:08 AMWas the content physically worth $30? Sure. Was it what Destiny really needed? No, not really, IMO. I feel like the game was stretched out instead of being made into something better. They're starting to go the path of just 'add new stuff every release and forget about the old things we have'. You can see it in the forgotten vendors. In the collections debacle. In the incomplete loot sets for raids and other EG activities
Example: Black Armory forges should have had one full loot set, raid should have had another. Although, to be fair, the Leviathon was the absolute worst offender in this regard far beyond BA.
The factions have been completely phased out. Stuff like that. -- I'm not saying everything can be magically fixed... I'm just saying that we don't need 4-5 versions of Escalation Protocol... There are plenty of other things to work on. And they didn't even add a truly endless hoard mode yet...

I paid 15 dlls for it, and i cant believe people paid 30-35 dlls for it. 15-25 dlls would been a very fair price Its true that the menagerie has to be one of the coolest activities ive seen they pulled that has matchmaking. And i been making progress and finished everything in black armory and had the fortune to try the reckoning tier 2 and 3. I gotta say those are the only activities that make it worth it. Im yet to try the raids they added, but the rest, it feels like a lazy attempt to make us play much of what we tried to avoid that was already on the game The grind is real this time... I usally im ok with it, but is the first time it feels forced and boring, just to reach the small fun the annual pass have. Seriously for the past 2 weeks i find myself doing patrols, lost sectors, etc for 1 hr just to play a forge for 10 mins, and cycle goes back again. Then you have the reckoning, wich forces you to play gambit prime, (wich btw i admit is alright but not a fan, so it sux for me) just to be able to aim at higher tiers. And then you have sesson of opulence, that although is not as bad on grind as the others, it still has it slightly.. Now im thinking how bad was for the guys that paid 30 dlls since the beginning, and had to wait to play stuff cause it was time gated. At least i got stuff to do in the game cause all is new and accesible for me now. but im guessing people that had it already, had to grind for 3 hrs a week only to have 10-30 mins of fun in an activity and then wait for the reset to try something new. That honestly isnt fair an surely isnt 30 dlls worth.. But who knows.. Seems a lot ppl felt it was a fair price.. So what do I know
-
While I haven't enjoyed 90% of the content I have to say the delivery is great. If it had better content I'd be all for the price but with what we got Opulence would've been the only one I invested in and that's barely, but that one piece is around $8-10 depending on your view. I lean more towards an 8 but I know plenty who are all for the 10.
-
I voted no cause I bought it for £10 when they reduced it an it's probably worth more than that, I like black armoury I just don't like how limited I am from actually receiving rewards from it. Jokers wild is exactly what the name says it is a joke the quest doesn't work it's glitched out an gambit has sucked since like the first few weeks of forsaken. SoO is the best of the updates seems bungie is finally learning with matchmaking on activities, but heroic for me was disappointing the same thing as normal you now just get one shot by anything that hits you an the modifiers are so boring an uninteresting blackout as a modifier simply needs to be removed it's the most boring modifier we have. Overall the amount I paid for the content was worth it to me but I've had all that content in like a 3 weeks over the space of 6 months it's really lacking an I hope that gets addressed from her on out if they are using the MMO term now to describe destiny, I also hope they make the power fantasy worth the grind as it's something destiny simply fails at across the board with as your light level grind is simply pointless when you are never overpowered in older content.

Bearbeitet von STREETFIGHTER332: 6/27/2019 5:27:59 AMNot one new crucible map...... Top tree nightstalker still renders unusable. After the money grab fiasco the lack of crucible match making adjustments to team pairing. Time gated exotics... Unless you just like sacks to the face. The story definitely did not streamline at all. I think everybody is just confused but dont worry Eva has digital cookies that expire in 2 days. And yes none of this makes sense Just like this game.

2 AntwortenBlack Armory $10 Joker's Wild Free Penumbra $20
-
Black armoury and the forges were repetitive and dull. Gambit Prime repetitive and dull. Opulence and menagerie repetitive but strangely not dull. So far. Worth about £15...overall.
-
You’re delusional
-
Black Armoury was trash, didn't bother with jokers wild at all. SoO is the best of a bad bunch. I do hope the annual pass was a one off. I much prefer the previous DLC model.
-
I got my $30 worth.
-
I like to use the logic of "I worked so and so hours just to buy this thing" Which even though jokers wild was a disappointment Id like to believe the $35 i worked for was well spent as I still play the game and the content which the annual pass comes with
-
For me it was. 15 for black armory and 15 opulence. Drifter was just a waste for me, since I don't play thst mode but still it was worth it. I still run forges and menagerie hasn't gotten boring, normal only. Not doing heroic.
-
I paid $15 a few days ago only to get the last word. And only to play The Menarigie. So glad didn't pay full price.
-
I still play D2 almost every day but the annual pass should have been about 20$ in my opinion. Jokers Wild did not have enough content for people who weren't super into gambit (personally I don't like gambit). Black armory asked for too much day 1 grind just to access the forge without wiping over and over. Season of Opulence is definitely the best of it but I feel like there should be a bit more of a selling point other than Menagerie. Overall its not the worst content but for 30$ I think it should be a bit better.
-
From my perspective BA had the most content (I know unlopular opinion), Drifter had moments but overall meh, and this season which everyone is going nuts over is TO ME similar to the Dark Below. Dont like it at all. Was it all worth the money? Yep. Do I miss the old format of DLC? YEP
-
4 AntwortenIt was worth it, but the only problem with D2, right now, is having nothing to casually chase when you play your regular activities. There's no permanent factions, no gunsmith packages(nor class exotic weapons), and no "strike" specific loot. Redeeming packages from vendors is like betting on a slot machine to give you what you want. In D1, you could choose between weapon or armor packages which made it easier to determine what you'd get. In D2, you could waste 100 or more tokens and the game will keep giving you ugly armor(lookin' at you terribly reskinned Vigil armor)
-
I say it was worth $25, not $35. Jokers wild should've been a free update honestly, absolutely pointless.
-
I would have paid $30 for Season of Opulence on its own. Season of the Forge - $15 Season of the Drifter - Lets say, $15 for the work put into it, but enjoyment wise easily a $5 deal for me. Gambit is a cool mode but it tilts me so much for some reason. I'd rather not spend my leisure time feeling that way.
-
The $15 I spent was work kind of worth it.
-
Yea, not $30. BA was essentially the same as The Dark Below in terms of enjoyability.
