In their current state supers are broken across the board in crucible. With the exceptions of chaos reach, tether, nova bomb, and golden gun, every super is unstoppable if used remotely correctly especially bottom tree striker.
In destiny 1 you could shut down a super in a number of ways; a point blank shotgun melee was hard to pull off but still doable, a sniper headshot from a medium impact would leave them with a sliver of health and a high impact would put them down in one hit, bullets from guns like hand cannons did 30-40 damage per headshot so teamshotting with someone was a realistic option. But in destiny 2, hand cannons do less than 20 damage per headshot, high impact snipers do like 180 to the head and medium impacts do around 140, and you can forget about shotgun meleeing because it takes TWO shotgun melees to kill a super now.
Super armor needs to be significantly toned down so that the super counters we had in d1 are relevant again. Everyone having an instant “I win” button at their disposal every few minutes is not fun to play against at all.
Edit: surprised so many people agreed with me, I expected this would get a lot more hate. im glad there are many who are also dissatisfied with the state of supers in pvp.
