For today's throwback Thursday I was thinking a lot about things I missed that are no more in Destiny: 1) Strike specific loot drops (grinding for a perfect Hopscotch or Grasp made the playlist palatable). 2) Running raids for fun (didn't need anything, but it was so much run running raids for fun in D1). 3) The old infusion system where you got partial light progression but didn't need cores. 4) Metas in PvP that changed with every update, not just shotguns ruling for the entire duration. 5) Nightfalls feeling meaningful (being one of the only methods of progression rather than one of 20) 6) Nightfalls kicking you to orbit on a team wipe at all times, added some tension to the content. 7) Supers being powerful but not all powerful, loved taking out enemies in roaming supers. 8) Jackolytes 9) Artifacts 10) Armor ornaments for events (man I had so much fun, especially with the IB ornaments) 11) SRL 12) Trials (yes I absolutely sucked at it, but it was fun popping in occasionally to try to get lucky enough to drop a Messenger or Prosecutor even if I only saw the glory of the lighthouse once) 13) Public events being somewhat rare and eventful (back in the day when a PE spawned people would drop what they were doing and race to them because it was one of the few activities that gave you a real chance at an exotic drop) 14) Having the ability to change the burn on a weapon by using a consumable. 15) 3 of coins 16) Ammo synths 17) Chromas for weapons and armor 18) Faction allegiance 19) Reputation levels that meant something (i.e. hitting level 50 with factions rewarded with an exotic class item) 20) Being able to chose items being decrypted being weapons or armor. Oh well, enough of a stroll down memory lane for this old man. Anything else you all miss? EDIT: I forgot 1 more....being able to regularly win 1v2s & 1v3s in PvP by outplaying opponents.
