D1's infusion made more sense. You could cross infuse guardian class armor (eliminated in D2 to force you to play longer to level up) and you could infuse like classes of weapons into each other (i.e. HMG into HMG, scout into scout, etc). D2 lets you infuse any kinetic into kinetic, energy into energy, heavy into heavy. That seems a bit better, but I would go back to the D1 infusion scheme in a heartbeat as long as we didn't have to use cores!
