Your grinding model is just too much. I’ve been you with you guys since the beginning, but I think it’s time to start looking for new things this grinding crap is getting old. I no longer have the time and it seems like it takes even more time now than it ever has just to get things in this game. It’s not fun, it’s just frustrating as hell now I regret wasting all my time on your game. I guess destiny is only for people who can spend 2-3 hours or more a day just to get anywhere

1.Join Iron Banner 2.Go idle (move and fire every 30 seconds or so) 3.Get drops for doing nothing 4.Laugh at how mad all the die hard Destiny fans that are slamming you in this thread here get (They are the same people) 5.??? 6.Profit

With you, fellow dad dude

1 Antwortenand this is why u dont nut inside.

Turn to the division 2, you'll never look back
-
What if your kids left the house? Is there enough time to play?
-
2 AntwortenIf you don't have time then the game isnt meant for you...
-
The division 2 is a game I suggest you start playing. They have missions where you can farm for a exotic weapon you want or need. Endless amounts of builds you can make for the upcoming raid, and you play your way. They also have pvp mode for those that only enjoy that and a pve-pvp area called the dark zone where you can farm for more high end loot or gear items to get for your type of build. You also won’t be stressed about endless hours of “grind” just to get a few items like enhancement cores or crappy nerfed loot. I’ve done everything in this game up until forsaken came out and just had enough. Got back on just to see how it is and it’s clearly gotten worse. The only people that play are the “try hard” casuals that get on you for complaining about this game, but don’t play enough themselves and whine about everything little damn thing, compared to the pvp elites, who only play pvp, but complain when shit is broken, or laggy, when we have other games that have a superior pvp compared to D2.

Bungie do only what 30 yo virgins without life is asking they to do. With this strategy they will never find a new audience but also will never keep their veterans cuz SURPRISE they all did grow up.
-
1 AntwortenReally? A) you think you're special enough for anyone to care you're leaving Destiny? B) This is like writing a letter to Porsche saying you aren't buying the 718 Boxer because it's not "kid friendly". They're gonna respond (but not actually because again, you're not that special) by saying "yeah, we know. We didn't expect someone like you to buy it. Maybe you should try a minivan."
-
1 AntwortenImagine if this game (or any game for that matter) was built around working dads. It wouldn't be a good thing. Get in where you fit it. No one (including the Jones) say you have to keep up.
-
You would've thought that someone who has a kid would be more grown up. Stop whinging about how you dont have time to play a game, this is the rest of your life now and Bungie isn't going to change just for you.
-
What? I work full time and can still find time to play. A few hours here and there are good enough for me to enjoy some Destiny time. It's like anything else in life, if you enjoy it, you can find some time for it.
-
1 AntwortenGrinding games are for people who grind. If you want everything it should take a long time. However you don’t need everything in any game. It’s about choices. If you want to 100% a game find one that has lees time investment.
-
3 AntwortenThe grind can be quite difficult. I work part time and I help out my disabled wife and son. It's been slow going but, honestly, D2 is fun for me. I'll get to 700 some day.

I feel your frustration completely on not being able to get the cool stuff. One of the problems I feel is the low amount of stuff to go for. As an example, we have pinnacle pvp weapons/pve weapons that all require time commitments. The PvE weapon commitments aren't too bad, they're grindy but you can make progress on them everyday. The PvP weapons are harder/more grindy to get and the loss mechanic makes the process harder. I don't ever like saying this, but I don't think those pinnacle PvP weapons are for people who can only play casually (not namecalling, just using casual to express the amount of time able to be spent in the game) The reason why this is frustrating is because it feels like there isn't much new loot to chase unless you play literally everything. I would like to see catalyst completions unlock a new ornament skin (not rng buy from eververse) so you can show off your hard work grinding out the catalyst. It would also be nice if there was more stuff in general to just earn in game, the triumph system would be the perfect delivery system for this. This game definitely has some worthwhile long term goals, but the problem comes after you've leveled up fully in that much of what there is to go for in the game is all long term commitments. It would be nice if there was something that could make a session feel rewarding, perhaps more cosmetic unlocks at various tiers of completion of triumphs, even something as basic as "Kill X number of Fallen Enemies" would provide something to go for. The loot of course only accounts for half of the equation. The other half would be the more nebulous concept of "fun". Something that I think highlights this perfectly is the Mayhem game mode in crucible that rotates in as a weekly pvp mode. I would argue that this is a perfect mode for people who just want to blow off some steam and have fun. Deaths in that game mode don't feel nearly as punishing as other modes, and the stream of supers can lead to some hilarious circumstances. It would also be nice if there was some more endgame level open world content with public events and such that would provide people with less time the ability to jump in/out at their discretion. The dreaming city is a lot of fun, but after a time even with the changing of enemies it can get a bit stale. If you could find a way to make an explorable space that could be updated/changed over time so that it was always fresh this would be a cool thing to see. Something I really enjoyed during D1 was Prison of the Elders, that randomized enemy feature made each engagement feel fresh, but the content was easily consumed at the same time. Something like PoE but with options to scale up fireteams from 1 to 6 (or whatever the max raid fireteam size is) it could be content anyone could complete. If a player has to worry about whether or not they'll have to drop the controller at any moment, they could play solo or with a single friend with the understanding that such an event may occur. For someone like the OP these things would provide a lot of smaller bitesize content that could be consumed in shorter play sessions while also giving more hardcore players more stuff to choose from. The other thing that I would like is to make loot pools universal so that no matter what activity you were doing you could get everything, and then offer specific ornaments or other cosmetic based rewards for the specific activity. This lets players show off where they got their weapon/gear from while not excluding folks from obtaining stuff. (obviously excluding things like pinnacle weapons, those should always be special) An example of this that I like are the new gambit weapons added with season of the drifter. There are two ways to acquire them so if gambit really isn't your thing you can spend time in the reckoning instead. I'd like to see that expanded, this would also help loot drops feel better as right now once you've played a bit of any content, the drops aren't nearly as exciting as they were. The other side that I feel would need to be implemented if universal loot pools were put into the game would be a vendor refresh that carried the various sets of guns with rotating rolls so players who just want/need that one particular roll and weapon can keep an eye to pick it up.

You don't have to grind everything. You don't have to rush to max light as 95% of the game doesn't require it. Just do the bits you enjoy. What's the rush to hit the wall of nothing to do
-
This isnt a game for u mate, go play something else like a single player game, just dont cut of others joy
-
thats how it is sadly, a game cant satisfy everybody. they tried to satisfy players that were playing casualy with d2 vanilla, and nobody was enjoying that, hardcore players were abandonned, average players were borred pretty quickly, and casuals left pretty quickly after doing some milestones and leveling. you didnt wasted time in the game, a game isnt a job, you played in order to have a nice time after work, this is a "game" after all. i waste time when i study law for 2 years then decides to stop, but i dont waste time when i played, had fun and stopped playing a game. i know i won't play d2 or even d3 that much in the future because life stuff, but the time i've spent in the destiny universe was awesome, and what i expected from a game of this kind. and anyways, you can go pretty far just by playing 1-2h on some days, dont have to play everyday, there is no real reason to play every day btw. you do some milestones, some pvp, some strikes, or you continue some quests you still havent finished and you are good. find a raid team, do a raid, it takes around 1h to complete one if you just do it chill (even tough it takes less than that to complete most of the time)

A game with grind isn't catered to people who don't have time? Such a revolutionary statement.
-
Tell that to the clan I used to runwith aptly names destinydads they were just fine
-
Yeah no shit sherlock. This video game caters to people who have time to play videogames.....mind blown.
-
I hear ya. Everything is so long winded and tedious now. Ain't nobody go time fo dat.
-
3 AntwortenThis is why I hope the single player story model doesn’t die completely. I know game studios are getting all excited about team play and battle royale but that just doesn’t work for some people. I need to be able to control my time and experience, and having to grind away for hours just to feel like I got somewhere on the hamster wheel just doesn’t fit with my lifestyle.

One way I think that a way they could make the game more enjoyable for those with limited time would be to make high end rewards more accessible, such as a power gated raid matchmaker (people don't have to use remember), and reducing the loss impact in comp. This would make it easier to both find games on short notice and find teams to play with as you are more likely to find players willing to help you. I know myself I have left fire teams that aren't that good as only being an average player a short loss streak can waste a day's work playing at a 50% win ratio. I think a way to reward the high skill players could be cosmetic rewards (imagine your Luna's wreathed in flame when magnificent howl is active, or D1 raid ornaments). These cosmetics could be awarded automatically to those who already possess the rewards such as the mountaintop etc. As a recognition of their achievements.
