Hey all,
In today's TWAB, we brought some info from the team concerning Enhancement Cores, their role in Destiny 2, and what plans we're looking at for the future. If you haven't read through, I've quoted the information below. Please sound off with your thoughts and feedback!
Strengthen Your Core
As you make progress in Season of the Drifter, you’ll be making choices about which weapons and armor you want to power up first. We’ve been following the conversation around the use of Enhancement Cores for infusion. As a response, the Destiny Dev Team have some changes lined up that they want to share.
Destiny Dev Team: The goal of the infusion system is to create an impactful feeling of progression when you increase the Power of an item you enjoy using. An infusion system with no scarcity around the materials would diminish this impact. To that end, we tapped into a material with inherent scarceness, Enhancement Cores, to use as one of the keystone materials for this process.
That is the goal the infusion system, but if the overall system is causing a negative experience, we want to work to improve it. We’re constantly monitoring the infusion economy to see what kind of impact it has on gear usage. We keep a close eye on the amount of infusion materials being earned versus how many are being used and will continue to make adjustments as needed.
To that end, we’ll be making a change in Season of Opulence with the goal of providing more access to Enhancement Cores.
Scrapper Bounties previously dropped randomly when dismantling gear. There was no reliable way to earn Enhancement Cores using these bounties, and we didn’t feel they were providing enough materials. We will be deprecating these bounties at the start of Season 7. (Note that any unfinished Scrapper Bounties still in your inventory when the new season begins can still be completed before their natural expiration.) In their place, the Gunsmith will now offer a selection of daily and weekly bounties that can be purchased for Gunsmith Materials. As with the Scrapper Bounties, each of these will include, among other things, an Enhancement Core as a reward when completed.
Our hope is that this increased access and control over Enhancement Core acquisition will help improve the balance of materials being earned vs. materials being used. As always, we’ll be continuously monitoring this item economy, along with your feedback to assess its effectiveness.

I’ll put it in a simple way the infusing system that was there at the beginning of destiny 2 worked a lot better than the current system so save us the time & frustrations and stop with this crap and get enhancement cores out of the infusing system. #Remove enhancement cores from infusing

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von CookieNiki: 4/9/2019 9:12:01 PMSoooo... Now that there's players with THOUSANDS of cores because of yet another stupid glitch what are you going to do about the infusion economy? Yes, it was a flawed economy since day 1, but now? Now it's absolutely, completely broken without salvation. There's probably an absurd amount of hardcore, no-life players with thousands and thousands and thousands of cores. This video shows a farm of thousands in only a few hours: https://youtu.be/xRQBOX4iSwE Man up and solve this problem once and for all. Remove cores from infusion and keep them in masterworking, after all that's where the meaningful choices and impactful feelings should be.

Dear Devs: Get on the mic. We just wanna talk while Dmg and Cozmo get a break.

3 AntwortenENHANCEMENT CORES should only be relevant when infusing to Level 10. A Level 10 infusion should cost 5 cores. That’s it. No progression so it ends up costing like 10 cores to fully infuse a weapon. Horseshit. As far as Armor I would say 3 per final infusion for a total of 15 per Armor Set. This, to me, seems fair because you still can’t go around infusing everything that drops and yet allows you to create a little bit of stash for those coveted items. Now I can literally infuse items on 1 character and then have to wait a week or so to follow up on my other characters. For the amount of time I put into this game I SHOULD NOT be out of cores!! Even doing all the bounties and consumables. ENHANCEMENT CORES FOR LEVEL 10 ONLY!! (weapons) ENHANCEMENT CORES FOR LEVEL 4 ONLY!! (Armor)

1 AntwortenGot excited for the new glitch. But I guess I wasnt smart enough for it. Go me. I got so excited j might actually he able to masterwork things and turns out j can't do it. Thanks bungie..

typical bungie lmaooooo

If you listen real close- you can hear Mr. Torgue ranting about explosions sometime in September... Guns with legs. No such thing as enhancement cores.

1 AntwortenI love how you keep revisiting this issue and are putting SOOOO much effort into trying to mildly alter the use of cores when in reality they should just be completely removed. They serve one purpose and that's to make the already monotonous grind even longer. It's bad enough that light level is basically the only thing to chase and is the majority of end game "content" in the destiny franchise and the fact that we have to constantly decide which pieces of gear we want to increase while leaving other stuff behind, rendering them useless until it's time to infuse again, we dont need to add another level of problematic decision making due to not having enough of some rare material to infuse. I'm honestly not sure what was worse, the randomized light level increase from the old d1 infusion system or the constant need for cores in d2.

13 AntwortenI feel this discussion needs addressing now in light of the current glitch. Your move Bungie.
-
I wouldn't say the cores need to be removed from the game just change it to where they are only used for masterworking weapons at the level 10 part to actually masterwork weapons and armor. Remove from infusion and decrease the amount of shards required to by cores from spider.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Raevenent: 4/9/2019 1:20:31 PMI'm in the same boat as people are with having boatloads of cores to the point it doesn't bother them, but saying [Insert how to infuse 101 here] or something akin to that, you're only proving the masses point further more. Bungie, if cores are going to remain in infusion, why not make their source as common as motes of light were? 5 every amount of EXP earned(every engram) 1 per public event, 3 for heroic 1 per faction package 1 from dismantling rare(Sometimes, you can make it painfully rare cause it's blue) and legendaries(50/50 if you will) 1 per vanguard and crucible bounty completion 5 per crucible and infamy level 10 per infamy reset(Don't remember if it currently does this) 10 per raid completion(Weekly) It's what many would call, a fix done over night. Why do you think motes of light in infusion wasn't a complaint at all? Meet us in the middle, I love you guys and all, have defended you where it's due, but this ain't it.

Bearbeitet von Kanashimi510: 4/9/2019 6:21:55 PMWhere is this discussion taking place? I can only see the community's contribution since this topic was posted. 3856 posts and counting with no response from the developer's side.

After infusing your favourite gear once, the process simply becomes meaningless and actually a chore with the addition of enhancement cores. Increasing the drop rate of cores would only ruin masterworking, which was actually meaningful. An improvement to the game would be to update the masterwork system with more impactful perks, you could even make it more expensive. But the addition of cores into infusion has only harmed the game for many players, you basically broke your own levelling system and refuse to acknowledge it.
-
if you are going to keep constantly bottle necking the community and not really putting the proper solution in place which is to remove the cores. Then at least offer enough cores per bounty which would allow for at least 2 infusions of gear. and please stop with the bounties where we have to wait for an enemy to appear every 5 to 7 minutes its not fun.

2 AntwortenAre you guys leaving this ridiculous post up just to rub salt on already salty wounds? Bad form.
-
7 AntwortenI'm of the opinion that glimmer and planetary materials already generate a certain amount of scarcity. If enhancement cores are required for infusion, they make me unwilling to masterwork any weapon or most armor: masterworking an item just uses up too many potential infusions.

12 AntwortenI read through all the comments in this thread going back into March. I have never felt more like walking away from this franchise than after reading all this “feedback” that you as a company are intentionally ignoring. Bungie as a whole has always had a bit of arrogance about them, most evident in their “my way or the highway” approach to gaming, but this issue is exposing a whole new level of disdain for the paying customers. This is the issue that Bungie has decided to kill their game over. Wow, just pure stupidity on their part.
-
3 AntwortenBearbeitet von parallelish: 4/9/2019 5:34:27 PMso can't even make a thread saying you want them removed now, even if it doesn't break the CoC. this issue isn't going away, players are. gg bungie, from a player they quit soon after forsaken for this and many other reasons. (for the no life detectives out there, yeah I played a few times out of sheer boredom and curiosity to see if anything had changed, spoiler nothing changed.)

11 Antworten563 Enhancement Cores deleted. The only education I’ve received is that in the 7 days between 4/1/2019 through 4/8/2019 since I’ve returned from being away from the game, and having 0 cores in my inventory... 1) I’ve received over 100 cores from dismantling gear received doing milestones, bounties, also daily purchases of 3, when able. Along with my Spider Wanted Bounties. 2) I’ve fully masterworked my chosen meta roll Blast Furnace I just recently received. 3) I’ve gone from a highest power level of 672 to 699. My Titan being 699 only needs 3 armor pieces for 700. 4) I still have 80 cores left. All in 7 days.

Nova Warp suck again. So useless ulti, OMG, Bungie, why you hate warlocks so much? NEFR SPECTRAL BLADES!?!??!
