We all know it to be true, Thorn is a disappointment, It breaks my heart. The gun gets outclassed by most if not all hand cannons on both PC and Consoles. It needs to be adjusted to be competitive with guns like Ace, NF/LH, and most other 140's 180's and 110's. I got thorn day one. I was so happy and I went to PVP and I was saddened. So I don't use it in PVP, I stick with my Duke Mk.44.
Let me know your thoughts and lets get this to Bungie for them to see.
Thorn was my Favorite gun in all of destiny. The lore, the look, the feel, Nothing was like it in Destiny for me. I want to love the gun in D2 so much.
It is however good in PVE and I use it there a lot.

I agree the Thorn needs a buff and What they should do is just fix bullet drop off damage on all hand cannons. And have a reworked Exotic perk for the Thorn that gets rid of those dam green orbs that get you killed 90% of the time. Bungie could make it similar to ace of spades so when you get the first kill and reload it buffers the the range and damage but doesn’t stack this will make the the Thorn usable in pvp but please don’t make it to strong lol

From a reddit post
"I love thorn and it’s a potent d2 weapon, but it’s nothing crazy, especially considering console recoil. Burn damage should be increased to 3 rather than 2, and even though it sounds insignificant, it would allow consistent 2 headshot 1 body kills, and 2 shots with soul devourer. I get that you don’t want it to be overpowered, but it’s still exotic, and it should most definitely have power over legendaries."
the part i agree the most, its that it needs to feel exotic, it feels less strong that a legendary, and the orbs get you killed half of the time, a kill should buff the damage by 1, so if you get a kill, the burn damage will be 3 of damage, next kill will make the burn damage be 4, and so forth until you get to 7 and when you die it goes back to making 2 of damage, it gives a great reward to players that are good using hand cannons, and players that have kill streak, you need a 5 player kill streak, exclusively with thorn to get it to feel exotic, which would be an amazing re-work.From a reddit post "I love thorn and it’s a potent d2 weapon, but it’s nothing crazy, especially considering console recoil. Bearbeitet von Clouds: 3/21/2019 4:49:39 AMI think maybe the perk should be altered, I'm pre sure Evade had a good idea where mark of the devourer functions far more like MM on Ace. In addition i would like to see it get its range back, possibly in the form of a catalyst that gives +30 range along with a necrochasm/ cursed thrall style explosion on a kill. Practiculary copying Ace, but in fairness I think its the most well rounded exotic cannon we've had since hawkmoon in D1 so it should be the bar/ model that all others should meet? Along with the tweak to its bloom and recoil pattern of course, that definitely needs to be fixed. Also the cursed thrall explosion is a bit of a stretch but all the others should definitely happen, maybe outlaw instead???

Maybe health regen, you know the one that starts to give health back not give instant health

1 AntwortenOnly buff thorn needs is the recoil pattern, if anyone ask for thorns poison damage to get buffed needs to “git gud”. On console I hear bloom is an issue? That ls an issue on anything thats not 180

8 AntwortenThe gun has a weird kick but once you learn it, it’s top tier. Just practice.

83 AntwortenIn my personal opinion the Thorn is sitting perfectly where it is currently. All exotic weapons should have unique abilities which allow the user to undergo a certain learning curve of sorts. That’s what makes it unique. However, mastery of this intricacy allows for serious advantages in combat.

2 AntwortenNaw dude, it is good enough. It isn't as powerful as in D1 but honestly it shouldn't be. People always look at D1 crucible as this great thing, but the fact of the matter is that it was a joke. If you weren't using Thorn or TLW then you were at a major disadvantage. So many people have walked away from the crucible as it is because of OP weapons like Luna's and NF, bringing in an OP Thorn would bury the crucible for good. Thorn is good in the right hands. I had a couple of matches yesterday where we were getting destroyed by guys using the Thorn. It shouldn't be a gun that anybody can pick up and two tap kill guys from across the map. That nonsense worked in D1 but it wouldn't work now.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Nea: 3/19/2019 2:02:30 PMThorn is unbalanceable imo. If you buff the stability or aim assist, you’re gonna get a 150 spam cannon that can two tap the head, and that’ll put it in the “You use a top tier gun which mean you’re a scrub I have a .8 kd because I use two auto rifles but you’re bad” territory just like Luna’s is in. if you nerf it, it will literally be unusable. The gun isn’t bad, but it’s not that good either. It’s a fun gun, probably my favorite for crucible rn even though I have to master it still, but the fear of another Thorn meta strikes fear in the hearts of many, so hopefully we find a nice middle ground where I can use the gun in a competitive setting but not be shamed by half the community for doing so

Bring up base dot to 3 per tick. Give (send it) for catalyst. Where are the catalyst Bungie.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Lull9: 3/19/2019 3:36:26 PMPLEASE bring back the cancer of original D1 Thorn!
No.
Ya the grind for it is too much for the gun as it currently stands. Frankly I use it in pve cuz pve is easy, and I like the more and look. But there’s no practical reason to use it. It’s terrible in Pvp. Huge recoil huge flinch. Aim assist isn’t great when compared to Luna nf. Also has a lower rate of fire. Even the guns perks are rather useless. The regular dot is terrible. Doesn’t make a difference as either duration doesn’t increase in hits or it just doesn’t last very long period. You have to run and get the orbs to get the devoured perk so a decent enemy team will kill you going for them every time if they are smart. Even with the work the gun DOESNT TWO TAP. It two taps with a dot in less than 6 res guardians only otherwise it’s still a three tap. Frankly I wouldn’t have an issue if I didn’t have to do a ridiculous grind for it since it’s nit useful. However since we did grind it’s extremely unimpressive.

Personally I love it the way it is. In my opinion (Keep in mind its an OPINION), I think Bungie did a great job perfectly balancing this weapon.
-
4 AntwortenWith a lesser form of respect, I say this. Get good son.

Fix the flinch and recoil and we’re good to go

Lmao is this a joke
We all know it to be true, Thorn is a disappointment,
You didn't offer any insight into what you disliked about it, just gave a blanket statement that everyone is disappointed with it. I gotta say, I strongly disagree. I love Thorn in comp pvp, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that I love it in pve as well. Increased movement speed as a 150rpm, poison damage to prevent regen/mark enemies, two-taps after a kill. What's not to love? Would I like it less if I had a god rolled Spare Rations? Maybe, but until that day it is my new go-to hand cannon.
-
Seems to be a solid handcannon to me. Sounds like you need to practice with it.

Bearbeitet von Pord: 3/19/2019 4:12:47 AMI’ve been using it on console and I’ve been beating out almost every weapon in the game. The only gun that really creates a problem is NF. It’s a 3 tap headshot and a 2 tap headshot if you pick up the orbs (if you don’t you’re using it wrong). I think it’s fine how it is honestly. It’s an amazing pairing wit the recluse SMG. My first game with them I went 50 and 10 and in the past 25 games I’ve only lost 2. I see everyone wants it buffed/tweaked anyway, so whatever I wouldn’t mind it.
-
It's fine on PC but the kick on it (and on ALL guns) is way too high on console.
-
30 AntwortenYou are probably just bad with it, because seen some people in pvp go for 56, and 42 kills only with Thorn on PS4 lmao.
-
5 AntwortenIt’s fine... learn to aim buddy
-
Thorn (and all 150 and 140 hand cannons for that matter) just need less recoil and more stability. Once the guns can actually be used consistently at their top rate of fire, then we should talk about range, damage drop off, and damage in general.

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von Alkanphell: 3/18/2019 10:28:10 AMDestiny 1 Thorn 2 taps NERF THIS NO SKILL GUN. Destiny 2 Thorn 3 taps raw and 2 taps with the perk active. Feels pretty disappointing, needs a BUFF El oh el bruh.
