As a console player who has earned the Not Forgotten, I find it and the Luna’s Howl to be extremely detrimental to the crucible. There are two main factors which causes them to make crucible far less enjoyable for me. Firstly, LH and NF outperform every other weapon in terms of ease of use on console. Secondly, the ease of use in combination with a ridiculous TTK makes almost every other piece of loot I get in the game feel worthless.
Although these two weapons are difficult to obtain, they are not at all difficult to use. The fact that they have hardly any recoil, in combination with receiving flinch very well and have high aim assist, it is fairly easy to consistently land 3-shot kills. I feel that this decreases outplay potential and lowers TTK too much for my liking, in addition to decreasing the skill gap among players with these weapons.
But the biggest problem I have with these weapons is the fact that they make me feel like I have to use them to be competitive, as they are an extreme outlier in TTK and ease of use. This makes them far superior to any other primary weapon on console, and hardly provides any diversity in the crucible, and specifically in the competitive playlist. I was very initially excited when we all first found out that The Last Word and Thorn were returning, but reality quickly set in after obtaining those weapons which I loved using in D1. LH and NF are far superior to them in almost every aspect, even though TLW and Thorn are great weapons. I feel that I no longer have any incentive to chase loot to use in crucible because of the state of these weapons and have mostly stopped playing crucible because I find them to make the crucible a very stale experience.
And so, I ask, as a Not Forgotten owner myself, that it and Luna’s Howl get a substantial nerf/tweak to how the magnificent howl perk functions or to the 180 RPM archetype itself so that other weapons can begin to compete within the crucible. Many people argue that these guns deserve to be as powerful as they are due to the skill required to obtain them. I do agree that weapons that are hard to obtain should be powerful, but these weapons are powerful to the point that it is extremely unhealthy for the game, particularly in crucible. As someone who has enjoyed playing crucible from the start of D1 to now, I find myself not wanting to play anymore. It saddens me that my Destiny endgame experience feels like it has been hollowed by two extremely unbalanced weapons.

Bungie shot them selves in the foot when they introduced these weapons.

7 AntwortenHell no! Keep them as is. I paid good money for them.
-
Loaded question close to mid range thank me later

3 AntwortenIt’s a PINNACLE crucible weapon ffs it’s supposed to good in crucible
-
1 AntwortenI agree, You shouldn’t be forced to play entirely around countering 1 gun that can simply out TTK anything else in the game. Luna and NF were a mistake.

19 AntwortenI use a bygones and an erintel and do just fine. I got my not forgotten when it first came out... it has 1000 kills on it... I got a new erintel less then a month ago and it has over 1000 kills.... you don't need not forgotten to compete. You can use plenty of other weapons. Ace of spades for another example is a great weapon.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von ill skillz: 3/16/2019 1:20:21 PMFirstly - it’s hard to compare Luna to not forgotten. The range in not forgotten is sick. That thing had mapped me using pulses before. Also no to a nerf. To many people ground their arse off for the guns, they would need to be careful introducing something this powerful and making it only accessible to the top tier players. They grant a great advantage in 1 vs 1
-
Honestly, we tweak the other archetypes it won't be an issue.
-
If they actually remove bloom and fix the stability on all the other hand cannons the Ace and TLW would be in the frame as counters to NF/LH respectively.

9 AntwortenThe problem isn't the guns. It is the fact that the inexperienced and unskilled player cannot escape those who are adept with them. The real treason, I think, why Trials of Osiris/the IX have ceased to exist is that... they haven't. They have been expanded to encompass the entire Crucible, save Crimson Days and Iron Banner. All PvP game modes have nonexistent or limited skill-based matchmaking. Strong players dominate, inexperienced ones get humiliated. The Crucible is effectively carte blanche for expert players to abuse people who don't belong in a match with them, any more than a middle school football team should be on the same field as the Atlanta Falcons. And, the existence of all these PvP bounties is intended to force the weak players to endure the humiliation.

3 AntwortenI wish they would just fix recoil and bloom to other HCs so they could compete and make more HCs viable. I want to use other HCs but due to bloom or just crazy recoil, the consistency of 180s keeps them above everything else. I use Lunas and I can do just as well with any other 180 as I do with Luna but I would like to see other rpm HCs perform consistently and feel more reliable in a gunfight. This is exactly my problem with last word, I love the gun and hip fire recoil and ads recoil feel fine to me, but the bloom in mid range gunfights starts to become rng. I played some private matches with friends to test the weapon when we received them and I noticed that in the mid range area that bloom can screw you or favor you. I found my aim on his chest but due to bloom it registered a head shot giving me the advantage and in times it would completely miss when I hit his chest. 180s are consistent, others are not, to me that is the main issue. If thorn was consistent, LH and NF users would have a rough time.

3 AntwortenNot really...the problem is that other handcannons are terrible.
-
if they nerf luna's everyone will use last word

Come to think of this after the new season roll out, Bungie should turn NF quest into something similar to Redrix Broadsword's quest cause its a last season pinnacle weapon. Maybe keep Luna quest at Fable rank. I don't want to feel cheated out for getting Luna but NF should be made more available like Redrix but only after obtaining Luna. Right now those 2 weapons are like a bottleneck in crucibles.
-
1 AntwortenThey're unhealthy for crucible on PC too but oh well..

Change the condition of Magnificent Howl to where it grants the damage bonus upon a precision kill. Now it no longer breaks the archetypal TTK within the confines of a single engagement independent of any outside factors. Making the weapons supplemental stats more of a hindrance than a boon could also be a necessary change.
-
2 AntwortenI do recall a reply from Bungie mentioning they would talk about Luna's and NF in their next event Livestream thing. I forgot the name, but hopefully, they get changed. Honestly, 180's should not be as good as they are right now. All the other rpm handcannons can barely compete (mostly on console). The recoil is too little and the fire rate is too fast. while the damage is almost the same as a 150.
-
3 AntwortenIt's not NF and LH, it's ALL 180rpm HC 180s are the only fastest fire rate gun of it's weapon class in the game to have less recoil than it's slower firing brethren. LH and NF need a 3 tap headshot for MagHowl to proc. And make all 180s 5 shot kills while dramatically increase recoil. Problem solved.
-
Solution: Just increase the recoil of both weapons.

Has anyone seen my horse ? He has gone missing and I fear the worse .

Rat King. Persuader. Any heavy. Top tree Nightstalker. Sixth Coyote. You’ll never go back.

7 AntwortenDude, use different weapons lol I hardly use NF and I’m doing just fine (unless I’m going into late games and get farmed by supers which has been happening a lot since Tuesday.) Maybe you got used to it being a crutch for you (not to sound offensive.) Some players got too used to those weapons and when they don’t use them they have lackluster crucible performances.
-
3 AntwortenIt's so frustrating that mediocre players always complain about everything. I have NF and TLW with bow. Wahhhhh Bungie nerf
-
6 AntwortenJust read your title not your long rant.... I’ve been playing a decent amount of crucible lately and have to say there is no reason to remove LH and NF. I hardly get killed by either. I’d say the crucible has the most variety I’ve ever seen in destiny right now. People just like using those two hand cannons but I believe there are plenty of other viable options.

Bearbeitet von DiZ: 3/15/2019 3:57:12 AMFellow NF owner since the first season it was released, and I can't really say I disagree with you. I personally just think the entire Precision archetype of Hand Cannon is too easy and too adaptable. Pre-Forsaken, I was okay with them, even loved them, since it required all headshots for what was still a better TTK than other Hand Cannons. But nowadays, even if Mag. Howl isn't proccing(due to lack of "skill" or lag), Luna's and NF are the easiest Hand Cannons to spam in most engagement ranges because they're Precisions with Zen Moment, and console's aim assist/bullet magnetism just makes shots you barely missed register as hits a lot with this archetype. I think the archetype's intrinsic in-air accuracy should be removed, requiring players to use an Icarus mod instead of the common Backup Mag or Targeting Adjuster(making them less forgiving). Or delete the Icarus mod from the game, and give all weapons(besides maybe Snipers/Fusions) much better in-air accuracy. That'd also be a big buff to many Exotic weapons, since they can't get mods on them. For instance, the main thing I've hated about Thorn(and using my PvE Kindled Orchid with Kill Clip + Rampage to obtain it) is that you can't rely on it in the air at all; unlike Last Word or Not Forgotten.
I think it's safe to liken them as the Adaptive Pulse Rifles(Bygones, Inaugural) of Hand Cannons. Not necessarily the best TTK, but they have the easiest one to consistently achieve. And it's still very much a competitive one. Though Mag Howl. essentially invalidates that observation. The one thing I truly dislike about this perk is when it procs late, either allowing your opponent to get away, or you dying to them. Because you either started to reload(thinking they died) or they kill you with Luna/NF, but their perk procced just fine. Which is especially frustrating if you had first shot in that engagement.
