I was there back in D1 day 1
I've been through all the BS pretty much and, I just can't play this anymore.
When I played vault of glass, crota's end and prison of elders I had gotten all the gear I had all exotics did all quests but, then TTK happened. All that gear? Gone. I lost actual friendships because of those raids. So to have all that gear just suddenly useless? I quit I didn't touch the game again for a long, long time. Not until I saw ads for Rise of iron and that the Gjallerhorn was back among other things. Then the Christmas event came out that year the sparrow racing, the iron banner, return of Ice breaker (my favorite weapon!) All was good I think of that time often. But, then Destiny 2 happened... Do I need to go on? I think you get the point.
Forsaken really looked like it was going to fix everything but, it just didn't. In addition to forsaken there was also an "annual pass". For the first time (Considering I've purchased everything up to this point) I felt Ripped Off. I'm not just gonna stand around and hope the game will be as good as where D1 left off.
I used to look up destiny news daily but, there's just nothing anymore except "Shotgun nerf" "Trials canceled"
What really made me want to type this out was that video from Houndish or rather someone posting it to the forum and bungie actually responding to said post...
"I've sent it to the dev team they're looking into it"
The same response to everyone, everytime. Let me tell you, Cozmo got freaking roasted in those comments before the post was taken down.
I lost all hope.
So basically I'm done for now.
Unless I hear something big is coming like, Gjallerhorn big. I'm out.
Let me hear your stories, I'd like to know if I'm the only one who feels this way.
edit
Thank you for letting me know I'm not alone.
As for people who think I'm invalid as a D1 Day 1 vet I don't really understand? I was in closed beta pre ordered played day 1 played till TTK, came back for rise of iron, played all of D2 till now.
It was never my intention to say that my opinion was more valid. But, to give a "perspective" I've been here since the beginning (granted i skipped TTK) and I'm sick of the bad decision making and poor community support.
I've lost all hope that the game will ever be good again. That's all.

3 AntwortenI feel ya. I was done when I realized I was spending more time going back & forth to Spider and Vance for cores to upgrade stuff I liked more than I was actually playing the game. That’s not “grinding” or actually playing the game, it’s load screens with pushing a button hoping RNG blesses you. And the hunting the same 6 peeps on each character is tedious as hell. Nope. Done. Lemme know when they take cores out of upgrading. Speaking of RNG, “triumphs” and badges are utterly pointless and worthless because of how they’re tied to RNG. I’m done there too. Ah well. ESO has been good of late. Just don’t buy loot crates. 😉

1 AntwortenCompletely understand. Been here since D1 and have had pretty much the same experience. Stopped playing during the forge dlc, even the most die hard fan boys within my clan stopped playing. Just cannot be bothered to here about play or support them anymore. Too much - we are listening, not! Too much - we are eventually going to fix that Too much - it must be your internet connection Too much - we want you to experience the game this way Too much - hey we are bringing back an old favorite in a new exotic quest, yet again!! Too much - nerf, nerf, nerf Too much - paying beyond top dollar for empty promises and deceptive marketing. Too much - I'm going to run that feedback up to the developers stat! Too much - revolving meta. Too many, just bad decision that defy logic. ...............................

2 AntwortenThe fact your a day 1 veteran makes zero difference than if you just started playing this game a few months ago. I hate when I see some smug fan boy bring that fact up like his opinion on the matter is more valid or holds more weight in the descussion. It does not. It just means you have wasted waaaaaaaaay to much time on this game.

11 AntwortenI quit playing before forsaken, knowing this shit isn’t going to change. I don’t plan to waste any more money on this game.
Stalking the forums is the true endgame anyways.
10 AntwortenBearbeitet von ken31cayman: 2/25/2019 2:29:13 PMFriend, I agree with you 100%. I feel you bro. In particular the part about our weapons being effectively taken away after HoW. And that was only the first time they did this. Bungie could have done so much more with this game and created a true legacy. EDIT: as another poster said below regarding being a 'day 1 player', we apparently can't say that anymore. We've all gone for the most part and these guys here now think of themselves as the new 'veterans'. Be careful not to offend:)

Felt the same as you. I stopped playing a month ago after logging 1200+ hours. The Devs are lazy. Reskins after reskins. Not listening to the community. Constantly making stupid mistakes. Selling a annual pass that grinds the same old shit for the same old shit. They can't balance anything in PvP. Crucible has become easy mode with too many one shot weapons. It took them 5 months to put out a sandbox update that changed nothing. I just couldn't play it anymore, and same with the 6 friends I have played with since launch. A real shame, it's broken up our group a little, but games are supposed to be fun, and D2 just stopped being that way. Lag. Lag . And more lag. P2P is outdated crap . Feel much better for stopping playing anyway. The population has plummeted on PS4 , and with good reason too!

Been playing since Taken King. A really good friend gifted me D1. I loved it. I loved everything the world, gameplay, raid, strikes everything. We played everyday and never got bored! I even started watching lore videos, doing year 1 stuff, for example necrochasm, soloed crota then rise of iron came and everything was great too! A complete game with ton of content and quality. But then D2 came an empty game made for the casuals not for dedicated players like me and many more out there.. My friend died... Then curse of osiris, warmind etc. Forsaken really made D2 feel like a continuation of D1. But it feels... Empty not from content perspective but from quality.. The continuous nerf for the Crucible ruins pve... Personally i am one of those people who still play even after finished everything..But the truth is to the dedicated players the game feels unrewarding...

I feel you, I logged in yesterday and it only took about 30 minutes to feel burned out. I feel your pain, I’ve been playing destiny since alpha a couple of years back.
-
Week 1 D1 vet did everything you said. I’m feel the same way. Gutted that this game is being flushed down the jax.
-
3 AntwortenI think the thing that really bothers me the most is that in D1, I could just go out and do stuff on my time. Now, I'm D2, everything is on a timer. Sometimes I can play a lot. Sometimes I can't. This game doesn't respect that. There are some things you can get to later and there are some things you just can't do until a few weeks later.
-
Add me and we will go play D1 again. It's so beautiful after a long day in the broken mechanics of gambit and shotgun META that is D2.

4 Antworten“I was there back in destiny 1 day 1” Dude it was 4 and a bit years ago and it’s a video game. Step down off the high horse, you’re looking too comfortable up there.

15 AntwortenDay 1 free to play PSN Destiny 2 player here, and i very much enjoy the game. You should move on and leave this game behind... good for you to talk about your feelings but now it’s time to let it go! I did it with CoD and so can you with Destiny! You can do it.........

32 AntwortenBye bye. the real fans stick around.

Disagreed. Someone posted a Houndish video summarizing the Communties complaints about current game the title of the post was “Cozmo, your job requires you to watch it.” His response was not the cookie cutter “Sending it to the team” it was a genuine response stating that he had watched it and that he was actually doing his best to make the feedback heard. It was a genuine response, which meant a lot. The only problem is when the dev team HEARS the issues then just ignores them. Like in the case of Enhancement Cores for infusion (We’ve heard the community’s opinion on cores in infusion, but there’s no plans to change that any time soon) or with a desire for the return of 3v3 elimination Trials (We want to keep things different as we move forward with Trials) despite massive feedback from the community. Ultimately I don’t feel this is Cozmo’s fault.

11 AntwortenPeople take this game way too seriously. "I lost all hope"? How could a video game make you lose all hope? I play a ton of D2, but sometimes I just stop playing for a couple of weeks. This happened when Black Armory hit. I didn't level up and I just sat it out for a couple of weeks. Then I jumped back in and started chasing weapons. It's been a ton of fun. Now with BA winding down, I might take a couple of weeks off before the next season. No video game is worth stressing over. I play video games to relieve stress, not create more. My advice: Find yourself a hobby, outside of video games. Go to the gym. Walk your dog. Start training for a 5k. Hell, read a book, but do not stress out or get depressed because of a video game. I'm a Day 1 Destiny vet, too. The trick is to play when you WANT to. If you don't want to play and your blaming someone else for your negative state of mind, that's a YOU problem.

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von lilbit_tip3: 2/26/2019 3:18:00 PM"I was there back in D1 day one"...!!! Christ you guys make it sound like you were at the landing at Normandy or Pearl Harbor or something....geesh... "I was there during the D1 campaign....*cough, cough*.....we were surrounded.....we barely made it out"! "If it wasnt for my Luna we would be right there, buried along side our comrades".... *cough.....cough*......(pauses to take hit from nearby O2 mask)..... Cut that shit out man! Damn! Lol!

If you lost actual friendships over a video game then that friendship should have never been a thing to begin with

1 Antworten“At no point in your rambling, incoherent response, were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.”

4 AntwortenAnytime somebody says that they are a ‘D1 day 1 veteran’ it honestly makes me cringe. Like seriously bro it’s a video game not the Army.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von ALBOBOSS: 2/25/2019 9:20:56 PMD1 Alpha player (and I only mention this because you mention that you are a day 1 player as an achievement) and not going anywhere. I am enjoying the game post forsaken and hope that it continually improves. A word of advice for Bungie: carefully think before nerfing as balance has come pretty close to destroying this game in the near past.
