Tangled Shore public events (FOR THE PLAYER)
I'm sure most will not see this post but still needs said.
I'm running bounties in the tangled shore today and I have 2 new to Destiny players with me. I'm trying to get them set on the basics of the game specifically public events. In the 8 public events we ran we only could do 1 heroic. Not for lack of skill or level but from another player killing the mark. Very clearly you can see we were going for the heroic event. What else would we be doing getting damaged from cryo and shooting the cryo pod? Take a second and see what's going on before you charge in completing the event. If all you're doing is a bounty go to a different event if you dont want to put time into the heroic. I was able to do that this morning and I just did 2 more. You, your clan, or FT aren't the only people playing D2. Be respectful of how you are playing in public areas. The 2 in my FT were legit bummed out by this. I don't blame them. It's very irritating and rude.
Let others have fun. It's a game and should be enjoyed.

1 AntwortenIt’s more time efficient to kill the target while doing a patrol then a lost sector maybe. just because someone needs to do that forge quest doesn’t mean I want to stand in a circle for 7 minutes

Damn I've come across so many of these idiots in the last few days..they melt the boss and just stand there afterward for a few minutes after wrecking it for everyone else

1 AntwortenI swear that some people just do it to be assholes. I've seen it where I'm there with a team and we are one orb away and someone will just roll up and super the boss. It's just a dick move.

1 AntwortenMy god I agree I’m on a black armory quest thingy and it requires me to get a cryo-pod (fallen) heroic event and three events later still haven’t gotten a heroic event done it’s annoying

19 AntwortenIf I'm doing an event there and I don't need Heroic because I'm doing a bounty that requires regular events, I WILL melt that boss with my One Thousand Voices before anyone gets the chance to make me wait an extra 5 minutes extracting the boss.

My question for everyone is why WOULDN'T you make every public event heroic? Its easy. When Forsaken first came out and we saw the new public event, my first thought was, "How do we heroic this? I should look it up!" How does this not go through peoples heads. Am I the only one?

6 AntwortenIt's done on purpose. You see, special little snowflake trolls that have no true friends to play with, see you with a full fireteam and just can't stand it...they have to ruin your goals.

4 AntwortenDon’t want to sound like a jerk but other players have bounty’s to fill as well making a public event go heroic takes too long and all you get out of it is 200xp more & a blue + 2 ghost fragments

1 AntwortenWhen the PE is on the weekly milestone by completing the PE on heroic your percentage for completing said milestone is higher meaning you have less to do. Run 3 heroic PEs and be done or run 5 regular PEs. Geez I wonder what takes longer? Dumb noobs don’t have a clue. Punch them incessantly if they are burning down the boss on the Crypto PE. It’s the only way they’ll learn.

For the Cryo Pod events, I’ll always use my Sleeper to create the freezing orbs so that the option is presented to other players to try to make it heroic. If they do, I’ll help it towards heroic. If not, I’ll turn my attention back to the boss. Doesn’t always work, as it’s not that unusual for someone to just appear out of nowhere and immediately Nova Bomb or Chaos Reach the boss, but that’s the nature of the beast. There’s always someone whose game is fifty times more important than everyone else’s...

Simple fix. Make the rewards better for making it heroic. I don’t know, maybe reward 1 core per heroic. That’ll put a stop to it.

1 AntwortenI prefer to do that PE by just killing the boss because the heroic takes so long and its boring + everyone else is most likely trying to spawn kill the boss so why not? Also rewards are not worth it.

Sorry if I was one of those. Not like uber sorry, but a little sorry. I try to get them to really low health, then kill them right as they become frozen. I did it once, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to do it again. It is kind of fun to troll players, because there are public events constantly going on in the tangled shore. So really, no harm done.

The problem is a lack of incentive to make it heroic. “Two tokens and a blue” to stand there for 3 extra minutes isn’t worth it to anybody. I get what you mean and agree to an extent, but remember, you don’t want people to dictate your enjoyment of the game, so don’t dictate theirs. Many players would rather burn the boss in 10 seconds, rezone, and hopefully get into the same PE and double dip (like the walkers on the Rig)

4 AntwortenI thought like this for a while until someone pointed out to me that it's in fact us ruining someone's basic puplic event by making it heroic not the other way round. I got less madd after that if the heroic didn't happen.

About only pe I care about now is on shore for ghost fragments. But most ppl probably noticed heroic is pointless now but on shore I need ghost fragments silly cores wish I took more time in dawning

1 AntwortenThis has been brought up many, MANY times. The main issue is that most people PE'ing Tangled Shore public events either don't get on the forums to see the posts and don't look up how to do it/can't bother to learn, are "farming ghost fragments" and don't care about what anyone else is doing, or are purposely trolling people at that event. It's way faster to just run patrols for ghost fragments, so that argument is weak, and trolls are gonna troll, but the 1st one is kinda understandable with how poorly Destiny explains anything. It's not hard to use Google though.
