See title, really don't care if it's been made before

2 AntwortenThis happens to me running solo (no, not a find a team suggestion) it is what it is, there is a quitter penalty but it doesn’t do you or I any good if we are on the receiving end of some one quitting. My suggestion has been to keep the loss penalty but once you reach a certain rank/sub rank, that is as far as you can go back. Once you start progressing again and if you lose, you start losing points again but you will not fall past whatever rank/sub rank you are on. Not a 100% solution to those quitting, but it’s somewhat of a compromise when you lose out when someone quits, face a horrendous laggy team, or whatever terrible things that occur because of the P2P platform and the sketchy MM algorithms that puts you in lobbies with people continents away.

Or you could go in with a team
-
2 AntwortenPeople would abuse it somehow but a fair option is this 3v4 situation. The one who leaves gets 100-200 glory points taken away and is locked away from playing comp the whole day. Really punish them hard, to make them double think if they want to leave comp again. For those who stayed should just lose 5-10 points, keep it fair since you still lost, I guess.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Runtuss: 2/6/2019 9:37:55 PMThe real ques imho is DOES THIS GAME REALLY NEEDS COMPETITIVE GAMEMODE? YAY OR NAH? If yay what kind of competition would it be,mentioning the infamous peer 2 peer server connections it`s main disadvantage in pvp perspective EXclusively if we are talking about competition when are some rules and restrictions when there is no rules no restrictions there is no competition it`s just a Pretentious marketing move.

the problem with that is if im carrying my team and we are about to loose i could just back out and they wouldnt loose points for it

2 AntwortenIn lower points brackets they need to outright ban people from comp for a certain period like a week after they ragequit 2-3 matches. This is a lower points bracket issue for the most part because in higher point tiers it's very rare for players to ragequit even during a stomp . People keep trying.
-
250 point reduction in Glory rank per rage quit. Problem solved.
-
4 AntwortenThat would be bad for the community. Basically if a 4 stack queues in and is getting stomped then they can have someone leave the match to save any glory loss. It would be insanely abused.
-
Could have it so the penalty is reduced. Rocket League does that, behind the scene it’ll reduce the penalty of points you lose in the comp ladder if someone bails and leaves the teams unbalanced. To the point where 4 stacks could abuse it, sure, they’d get less of a penalty, but it’s still a penalty and doesn’t affect the winners. Just my 2 pesos!
-
It should be fairly easy to punish someone quitting or disconnecting at 4v4, but not at 3v4. Some kind of IF THEN, or IF THEN ELSE
-
Huh you want Glory Hole Rage points???
-
2 AntwortenIm sure this could have been mentioned already, here or elsewhere, but when someone leaves they should lose twice the loss penalty. It would discourage quitting at really any level of comp

Last night started a game with me and two people grouped up. Our 4th left. Of the 2 grouped one of them managed 1 kill in 9 rounds of countdown, the other managed 7 with a .8 kad. The other team started with 4 then lost one then gained one then lost one. We went down 2-0 before I realized what exactly was going on. We ended up winning the game and i had a 4.0kad with 20 kills. It’s not always an L if you lose someone but at the same time agree it causes major issues typically.

As much as I agree with you, I can't say for sure that Bungo will listen. They fix stuff outside of PvP, they fix stuff in QP, but Competitive remains unchanged. I guess they just don't give a - blam! - about it.
-
would be good
-
It would be very easily abused to avoid losing points.
-
They’re not gonna change this. They’ve never even commented on this once. Ever. So don’t ever expect it to get fixed.

Listen....I totally understand your post. Can sympathise with you for losing glory points when you've no control over rage quitters. I fully understand where you're coming from and I too think this whole losing Glory for a loss mechanic is flawed and should've NEVER been implemented....but..... If Bumbee DID make it that way it would surely be exploited. You'd get 4 stacks running Comp and you'd have one person leave if it looked like they were going to lose. Sure...that one person might get a warning or a "time out" so they might simply take turns in quitting a losing match. It would effectively make 4 stack teams invulnerable to losing Glory points for atleast 4 or more straight matches and believe me...some would abuse that mechanic like hell. Honestly there needs to be a better solution to the issue you've described and no....I don't know what it could be. Perhaps locking in players into a match until completion? Actually that probably wouldn't work either. Just ditch the losing Glory points for a loss mechanic entirely. Points only for a win.

1 AntwortenYou should really play a game made by devs who respect your time
-
Easily exploitable system if you use a player who is not concerned with glory in your group
-
Too easy to exploit as a stacked team. People just take turns quitting out to avoid losses.
-
Bearbeitet von SnakePayne86: 2/6/2019 3:23:22 PMNope, unless Bungie codes in a mechanic so people playing in fireteams don’t have someone blackout when they are about to lose. People will just abuse it regardless, all it takes is one guy to back out so the rest don’t lose points, everyone will do it. And why not? You’re about to lose anyway.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Prof Sheitbag: 2/6/2019 2:37:09 PMOr worse - when your teammate gets ddos'd as we are dominating the game. 9 times out of 10 when I am playing a 3v4, it is because for the first half of the match we are rolling the other team. I see this more in countdown and control than anything else. I have had several games where we are up 4-0 in countdown all the sudden to see a black screen for ~ 1 min, then dropping in missing 1-2 teammates. And what usually happens? We get rushed by more guns and we lose. And then if I am really lucky, the winning team spams my inbox with garbage about how we suck and should delete the game and whatnot. What Bungie needs to do is somehow disincentivize this behavior as their "banhammers" do not seem to be effective. As a matter of fact, there was one week where I was punished due to get kicked from multiple games in an evening and could not access comp for a time. Which is ridiculous. Personally, I think if someone leaves, the game is null and void. No points awarded or taken for the remaining players. That way the asshats that like to physically boot people from the game can not ddos their way to victory every time.
-
Terrible idea. Everyone would just have someone back out when they are about to lose thus safeguarding the others on the fireteam from losing points.
-
9 Antwortenor just remove competitive from the game seeing as both comp and quick play are now the same.
