I am happy with crucible exclusive pinnacle weapons. In fact, i wish there were more good pvp weapons that i could get without playing pve.
However, in my opinion, Luna’s Howl and Not Forgotten do not belong in this game.
At least on console, these two weapons are without a doubt the best pvp primaries in the game. some pulses are good, along with things like trust and ace still being great weapons, but lunas and not forgotten are just better. Sure enough they only come from pvp. This directly results in PvE players being very discouraged from playing crucible since they don’t really have anything to compete with, except i guess blast furnace, bygones, and trust.
I know people worked hard for these weapons, especially those who got not forgotten, so i hate to devalue their grind. I don’t even have a problem with them myself, i’ve managed to compete using other weapons without much trouble except against really good players. I’m only saying that these guns are unhealthy for the game as a whole, and while they give pvp players something to grind for and stomp crucible with they also discourage tons of people from playing. I mean, just look on the forum from that past week. No one wants to do the last word quest because they dread going against not forgotten and lunas, even though the quest only takes a few games even for an average player. Just the thought of going against those weapons makes people not want to play, and in my opinion that is not good.
I don’t know what the solution is since their would be an uproar if these weapons were nerfed and certainly if they were out right removed, so maybe this is just feedback for the future of the game. Don’t make primary weapons that are so strong that they dominate their slot and make people hate the crucible.
Edit: for those saying i need to adapt and i need to git gud and what not, read the fourth paragraph. This post is not about me. NF and lunas don’t bother me, im pretty decent and can beat people who use them. The post is about the average player who just wants to hop on and play a couple games for fun but can’t stop getting a train ran through them in the form of a 3 shot at 180rpm every time they engage in a primary gunfight. Those average players make up a huge portion of the pvp playerbase and they are getting more and more discouraged as this meta continues.
Also, I solo queued the lunas howl quest months ago and never use it, so saying i’m salty about not having it just isn’t really true.

6 AntwortenThe majority of luna's user are not that skilled and guns don't make the player. Plain and simple

Lunas/NF is definitely best on console. You learn to counter it though. Luna is total garbage at mid-long range where bygones just wrecks it.

3 AntwortenWhy don’t you just link the True Vanguard YouTube video where you stole this speech?

2 AntwortenDon't worry, in a week or so people will start complaining about TLW, it's already making its way in to comp more and more.

28 AntwortenBearbeitet von SpacemanSpff434: 2/3/2019 3:28:11 PMI think you are mistaken. And no, I don’t have the weapons. I believe what is going on is that it is the holder of the tool and not the tool itself. These are pieces picked up by playing what can only be described as a shit -blam!-ing ton of competitive crucible. They are probably held by people far more into pvp than 90% of the population. I believe if you put a Luna’s or not forgotten in my hands I’d still be a guy with a 1.0 kd, but I’d be a guy with a Luna’s and a 1.0 kd. Or in short, it’s you not them. Do what I do, accept I’m not that good and don’t get bothered by it. It’s just a game.

The Last Word is going to be a reality check for these complaints about Luna and NF. It’s largely attainable by everyone and has a faster TTK than both Luna and NF— if and only if you hit your headshots. And that’s going to separate the wheat from the chaff in TLW users. My problem with NF and Luna is that they hurt weapon diversity. It’s not that they are overpowered or enable pub stomping. Better players will always outplay me, even if we use the same weapons. Hell, a lot of good crucible players are out there pub stomping with wonky weapon kits. With TLW, you can’t blame the weapon. We might soon be longing for the good old days of mag-howl when people start figuring out how to optimize a build around TLW.

1 AntwortenThey are OP weapons without a doubt and need to be nerfed. I don't care if people grinded to get them. In the history of Destiny people have always grinded for weapons then end up getting nerfed and this should be no different.

i got luna a while ago and i only have 700 kills on it. Your argument about PvE players not playing PvP for the reason that they are getting shitted on by pvp exclusive weapon is right. I have 0 satisfaction by playing with it. As someone who got luna, i hope they will nerf it to make magnificient howl proc after 3 precision hits. its weird to think that a pvp exclusive weapon is ruining the pvp's population.

2 AntwortenI am a Pulse Rifle player and my average k/d with pulse rifles in Quickplay is 1.55 Since i play with Luna's Howl, my average k/d has dropped to 1.06. So i think it's not the weapon, but the player. As a Luna player you need to adjust your gameplay, distance..... But if you are good with Pulse Rifles, than you can outrange Luna players by just keeping your distance.

3 AntwortenThey don’t belong in the general que for quick play. I’m a bit tired of being an already shitty player and then running in to people who have been able to max out their glory, stomping me with both NF and their level of skill (for the ones that made it to legend without paying).

3 AntwortenI have lunas and a trust with explosive rounds can out gun me easily. Like no bullshit. If you aren't hitting only headshots lunas is just another 180 handcannon.

Bearbeitet von madmax0707: 2/3/2019 7:56:57 PMIf they didn’t bother you why waste data. Try to get it on reset, if that isn’t an option get over it and move on Those that got that mother earned it, let them enjoy the fruits of their effort.

Right... sure they don’t.

1 Antworteni'm one of those people discouraged by getting 3 tapped by NF or Luna's Howl. Also, The Last Word is a 225 RPM Hand Cannon and I know it has quite some recoil because i play on PS4 but it fires faster and i don't get how a NF or Luna's Howl can beat it.
-
Sure there is magnificent howl but i still don't get how they beat the last word

I can't agree with you on that it doesn't belong in the game. Its a new type of weopons called pinnacle weopons or legendary exotics as the community calls them. They are supposed to be powerful snd only the best or really headstrong should have them its not a participation trophy.I wish i had one and im alittle jelly you have one and don't use it but just because it's the best option doesn't mean it's the option.Luna isn't even that broke its NF that is really strong but the Ace checks it just takes a skilled hand and thats what people don't want to do.Remember this is what the community wanted they said it was boring and they didn't feel strong.Asking for stuff from bungie is like a wish that has a catch. You got the strong weopons but what you didnt realize is now nearly everyone has it to.Be careful what you ask for you just regret it.
-
I'm not saying they're op or don't belong in the game. You can easily beat Luna and NF, you have to out strafe them. I've beat them with autos and scouts. They're harder to play against simply cause they're pinnacle weapons, they're meant to be extremely effective. I've picked up the Broadsword again and forgot just how good that gun is. The biggest counter atm for Luna and NF is TLW. Both are 3 tap crits. Play your lanes, if you're in a medium lane then yes luna/NF are going to waste you. That's like going to Equinox with a shotgun and complaining about dying to Scouts and Snipers.

Bearbeitet von Zero One Echo: 2/3/2019 6:35:50 PMThis is one of those post that certain people will completely miss the intended meaning, which is to keep casuals wanting to play PvP. It’s a simple suggestion: More people should want to play any part of the game. That’s good for the game. —- Here’s a terrible analogy: If you give NFL players a more catchable football because they finished a season with more wins than losses; then you tell college players can’t use that football because they didn’t win professional NFL games and, by the way, NFL players can play in college games now—that’s a bad system. Not because NFL players are playing college football- most of the time the NFL player would perform better, which isn’t ideal for everyone but it works if the teams are equally diverse in talent. It’s the extra-extra advantage of keeping a more catchable football exclusive to the better players. It just puts the skill disparity at an unenjoyable/unplayable level and college players will quit the game. Next thing you know, there’s no more college players and it’s just a few NFL athletes playing on Saturday, most of whom had winning seasons, playing with their easy to catch ball.

1 AntwortenWeapons so strong like this should definitely not be in the game. A weapon you get as a reward should be good yes, but a perk like magnificent howl is just OP even in pve. Getting three tapped from halfway across maps gets old. The Last word is back and it’s my favorite weapon, but the strength of Luna’s and NF might sway me to abandon TLW. Just because I want to compete. They should at least be exotic. Ideally, they should have never had a custom perk. They should have just been like a god roll precision handcannon frame with slightly better stats, but the only real pull to these weapons should be prestige. The weapon itself isn’t leagues better, but having the weapon show up on someone’s death cam should be the reward. A status weapon. Someone should say “wow he’s good! He has not forgotten!” But when I die from it I don’t think that. I think “I bet he’d use a gun that looks like a wet diaper if it was meta.” Ironically, The OP perk makes it less prestigious to use.

3 AntwortenThe problem isn't the guns, its the matchmaking. The new/irregular player, or the PvE guy who outright avoids the mode consistently should basically be impossible to matchmake with someone who's completed/won however many matches it is to get those. Unless the Luna/NF guy has spent ages deliberately pushing their rating down by losing.

1 AntwortenPersonally I believe Luna’s is fine. It has a very specific range where it can dominate. Use a high RoF weapon ( sidearms or SMG work well, TLW dominates and even breakneck has worked) up close and it flinches the user too much to get the headshots or beat them at range with a pulse or scout. It is one of the strongest weapons in the game for sure but it has some balance and is attainable. Not Forgotten takes the balance of Luna’s and throws it out the window. With NF you can have the same stellar TTK but can now play back at the rapid fire pulse archetype range. This allows you to win most ranged fights and pair with a shorty helps win the close range. Personally I think they improved the Luna’s in the wrong way for Not Forgotten. I’d have preferred instead of adding range giving the weapon higher base ammo, feeding frenzy instead of drop mag and maybe have Magnificent Howl act for 5 seconds instead of 3. In those changes you don’t defeat the Pro an cons of the original Luna’s Howl but you also have an improved enough weapon to justify the grind.

We need a game mode, where set load out are generated every game, also locked into place, so you can't switch. Or even given a few different weapons to chose from each game, then locked into place, obviously excluding pinicle weapon, maybe have different modifiers as well.

Bearbeitet von Maverick426h: 2/3/2019 6:06:18 PMFrom the perspective of a pretty good pvp player who hates hand cannons, I just want to be able to use something else that competes at the highest level. Weapons like Bygones and Right Side of Wrong are fairly competitive at a lower level, but when you start getting into 1v1 gun battles with Luna/NF, it can become a bit of a joke. By that I mean, you're getting the jump on guys, but still losing out repeatedly. Even if you are hanging tough (which I often do), if the rest of your team is getting mauled in 6v6, get ready to eat a bunch of heavy and supers in addition to that Luna/NF. This ends up being pretty discouraging at times, even for a very competitive pvp player, dare I say even sweaty. Why should I be forced to use a gun class that I dislike in order to compete at the highest level in the crucible?
